Š2016 Porsche Cars North America, Inc. Porsche recommends seat belt usage and observance of all traffic laws at all times.

It’s clear at first glance in this car beats the heart of a pure-bred sprinter. Muscular, athletic, powerful and challenging. The Cayenne GTS makes a clear statement. On every straight and in every bend. The car is powered by an all-new 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with direct fuel injection (DFI). It produces a 0-62mph time of 5.2 thrilling seconds. An all-rounder that enjoys the short sprint as much as the long distance. For exhilaration and relaxation. And with a range of standard equipment that is far from ordinary.

Shifting Gears:

Maverick Region’s Summer Activities

By Jim Falgout, Region President

If you are a new member, you may not have noticed that our outdoor activities taper off in July and August. That is because of the summer heat. First Gear: Despite the fact that summer officially begins in June, we do have activities this month. June 5 is the annual Autos in the Park Concours d’Elegance, which is put on at the Cooper Aerobics Center in Dallas, by Maverick Jack Griffin. As in past years, it will feature a Concours within a Concours. June 19-25 is PCA’s annual national convention, the Porsche Parade. It is held in a different location each year; this year it will be at Jay Peak Resort in northern Vermont. If you have not attended a Parade, you really should try it at least once. PCA members from all over North America will be there to partake in the competitive and social events that the Parade offers. Now, I will contradict myself. We have partnered again this year with Equipe Rapide for our autocross program. Whereas we normally would not have autocrosses during the summer months, ER has scheduled autocrosses for July 24 and August 14. We still have monthly social gatherings and monthly board meetings throughout the summer, except that we skip the board meeting in July. Second Gear: Last month I discussed Founders’ Day, the year-end celebration of Maverick Region’s anniversary. We really would like your comments and suggestions about Founders’ Day, so that we can put on an event that you will enjoy. So please contact us at social@mavpca.org or president@mavpca.org. Third Gear: You know I cannot go a month without encouraging volunteers. YOUR CLUB WANTS YOU . . . to volunteer! Fourth Gear: MAV OF THE MONTH. One characteristic that is prevalent among our membership is passion for the Porsche marque. Our Mav of the Month has exhibited that passion in resurrecting our Concours d’Elegance series. Andy Kay has worked hard to promote the sport and needs assistance with it. Andy, thanks for your efforts with the program, and keep up the good work!

2016 Maverick Region Board - Officers and Chairs

President Jim Falgout president@mavpca.org

Jim joined Maverick Region in August, 2008. He drives a 2003 996, which is the third Porsche he has owned. Jim enjoys attending Maverick Region social and driving events.

Vice President David Robertson C 617-797-0516 vp@mavpca.org

David fell in love with the Porsche 911 when, as a child, he would have his parents stop by the old Forest Lane Porsche in Dallas so he could dream of someday owning one. He bought his first Porsche 911 in 2011. He and his wife Tracy enjoy being active members in the Maverick Region.

Secretary Wendy Shoffit C 972-977-9821 secretary@mavpca.org

Wendy and husband James joined Maverick Region in 1997, when their daughter was only 9 months old. Jasmine is now 18. They own 3 Porsches including a 1978 911SC as a dedicated racecar, which she enjoys autocrossing. Her daily driver is a 2016 Cayman GT4.

Treasurer Richard Solomon C 903-530-8281 treasurer@mavpca.org

Richard joined Maverick Region in 2012 when he fulfilled a 30+ year dream to own his first (of many) 911, a 2009 Silver Carrera! Although fairly new to the club, he is excited about being more involved and meeting more Porsche fanatics!

Gimme a Minute:

May Board Meeting

By Wendy Shoffit, Region Secretary

President Jim Falgout

was unable to attend the meeting, so Treasurer Richard Solomon stepped in and started at 7:01 pm. Bill Middleton reported that the hotel-style hairdryers that the board approved several months ago for the Hope Shelter were installed. They also performed some necessary maintenance and noted more for future trips. He will write an article about it for Slipstream. He noted it has been 10 years since we originally helped build the current facility. He wants to have some special events to celebrate it. The Shelter is working to negotiate deals for institutional pricing on sheets, towels, etc. that are regularly used. Drivers’ Education Chair Chris Tabor said that the last DE was very successful with particularly larger numbers than usual in the White and Yellow advanced groups. People are enjoying the camaraderie. He continues to try to work towards a Track Night event in the summer. The safety committee is working well with Joe McGlohen at the helm. Entry fees might increase, particularly for the 3.1-mile track configuration to combat increased costs. Slipstream Editor Jim Hirsch is appreciative of all the articles and photos he has received from members. He noted we have 30 new members and six more transfers. He wants to continue engaging new members with information about our events. He also wants to include more technical articles. He has a few remaining 2016 calendars that were unsold. Since we have recouped our expenses, he will use them as giveaways at social events. Lastly, he needs articles early because of a

planned vacation. Carey Spreen will finish the June issue. Sunday Drive Chair Tom Martin is happy to have Bill Orr as a CoChair. The latest drive was to Ben Wheeler, TX, which had 63 cars and 101 people (up from 35 cars last time). A cameraman followed a member from France for a story about a French transplant to the US; look for the article in this issue. Tom will be changing the event name from Sunday Drive to PCA Tours (or similar) to open it up to other days and formats. Volunteer Chair Jim Gallegos will be posting volunteers needs in Slipstream. He wants people to acknowledge their helpers, thereby encouraging others to sign up. Social Co-Chair Phyllis Gallegos said that May at Mayo’s on April 30 was a great event. She noted some improvements that can be made at future events (such as a second margarita machine). She is looking for a new location for Founders’ Day this year to fit our schedule. She is also planning ahead for a date in 2017. Secretary Wendy Shoffit reported for several absent chairs. Social Chair Tracy Robertson reiterated the success of May at Mayo’s, giving much of the credit to Phyllis. Approximately 12-15 members were attending their first PCA event there. Dinner attendees numbered 130. More came for the concours, but not all stayed for dinner. VP David Robertson wanted to make sure all event chairs knew that all blank insurance waivers had to be printed in color to be official. We can get pads of them from the national office. Membership Chair John Hamilton reported that we have 1,671 primary

May 4, 2016 and 880 affiliate members, for a total of 2,551, up 22 from last month. As Club Race Registrar, she reported that the COTA Club Race/DE is coming up and has a lower number of registrations than expected. The event chairs are working to ensure we don’t lose money on the event. Lastly, we will work on getting simple plaques for some of the regular places we hold events as a recognition and thank you. Advertising Chair Cindy Bliss has contacted half the advertisers and continues working through the list to ensure all is well. Concours Chair Andy Kay noted that we had 48 cars at May at Mayo’s, with 11 divisions for the attendees to judge, people’s choice style. The next Concours, Autos in the Park, will be at the Cooper Aerobics Center on Sunday, June 5. Andy will be working to improve the prestige of the event by trying to get catered food, hopefully with a sponsor. Safety Chair Joe McGlohen continues working to train new tech helpers and exposing them to all areas of DEs. Treasurer Richard Solomon says we have about $135k in the treasury. It’s down some from this time last year partly because we have had one less DE, no sponsor for the All Member Party this year, and costs for Slipstream are up with the increased number of pages and copies. We are still extremely healthy. The Boot Campaign is interested in joining one of our fall DEs to increase exposure. The Mav of the Month this time is Andy Kay. Congratulations! The meeting ended shortly after 8 pm.

Interested in learning more about how your club operates? Board meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month and members are welcome to attend.

Five Speed Chatter: By Ash Seidl-Staley

We Owe it to Our Cars!

When I was brought into this world, my

grandparents dressed me in a shirt that read “My first car will be a Porsche,” and it was. Truthfully, it was a Fisher Price toddler buggy with a large Porsche decal stuck to the front of it, but to me that still counts. Since then I have lived and breathed Porsche. My youth was filled with dreams of driving each year’s new 911, and the loving memories of my grandfather working on his 914/6, 928 and 911/935 projects. In April of 2011 the time finally came when I could buy my own Porsche, and a quick search on Craigslist led me to my Guards Red 1987 944. I was warned by my family that an Ash’s 1987 Porsche 944 early Porsche would require mass amounts of both time and money—man, were they right! Since that steal of a deal I have had to replace numerous parts, some of which include a fly wheel sensor, the entire rear axle assembly, practically all the interior, water pump/belts, cylinder head, countless valves, and a brake package. This last upgrade is very important to me and represents the stem from which this article flowers. Living with vintage Porsches, we owners are bombarded with ads for upgrade kits, performance enhancement packages, and variously branded OEM parts, but which parts are truly right for our cars? I was faced with this dilemma when looking to replace the brakes system on the 944. I do not make ungodly amounts of money (if I did I would be driving a GT3 RSR), so my choices are not only limited to available parts, but to parts that are also financially feasible. After weeks of searching I ended up purchasing a standard set of Sebro Vented brake discs as well as a rebuild kit for each of my calipers. It might be a little weird to admit, but I was truly stumped on what types of brake pads to get, since every discussion board and magazine I have read endorses a different and competing product! After searching a little while longer I was left with a decision to get either cheap AC Delco pads from AutoZone, or save one more paycheck to spring for some EBC Yellow Stuff 4000s. I cannot express how choosing the more expensive performance pad was the right choice. 10 June

A month after I purchased the brake pads, we had a typical Texas afternoon rainstorm. With the unexpected rain, as many of us know, the roads become full of “terrible drivers.” I was driving home from work, turning left on K Avenue from Spring Creek, when directly in front of me a Lexus swerved out of his lane, crossed through my own, and then crashed into the median. Though I was definitely startled, I calmly applied my breaks in a pumping motion. Despite this, and thanks to the saturated pavement, my car still fish tailed. Holding the slide like Mika Häkkinen, I thankfully missed a collision with the car in the lane next to me before I skidded to a halt. I went from 0-45 to 45-0 in the matter of seconds with only an inch separating my bumper and the culprit’s rear bumper! Owning multiple Porsches has changed my life; I can’t imagine not having any. So from one multiple Porsche owner to the next, I ask you to always give your car the quality parts it deserves. You never know when those parts will save not only your life but your car’s as well. Wrench on Mavs! Editor’s Note: this article is an upate from the original version which was first published in 2012.

Dinner and a Show

April 30 was a bright

and sunny day for the 17th edition of our May at Mayo’s gathering, one of the best social events of the year. Oh, what a day! Many members attended, and we had over 70 beautiful Porsches of all vintages on display. And again, the gracious staff at Mayo Performance in Euless was wonderful with their assistance and hospitality!

A total of 130 members used all of the Mayo garage space to enjoy dinner

Social Co-Chairs Tracy Robertson and Phyllis Gallegos coordinated the event with catering from Blue Mesa Grille of Arlington. Volunteers Sylva Cohen, Dreanna Belden, and Dawn Flood made the check-in process flow seamlessly. The catering staff was wonderful, the food was great, and the blue corn cheese enchiladas were a big hit!! We received numerous comments from members about how much they enjoyed the occasion. A show of hands indicated that roughly 12-15 people were attending their FIRST MRPCA event! Wow! Tom Martin met new members Joel Vennard and his lovely wife, who recently relocated from France to Dallas. They were thrilled by the celebration and plan on attending many more upcoming events. A total of 130 people joined us for dinner, while many had come just for the Concours, which kicked off Maverick Region’s Concours season. Cars began pulling into the

Gimmick Rally:

Easter Egg Hunt Results

By Cathy Holt

Photos by George Luxbacher

Thanks to Don Sebert

and George Luxbacher for their diligent efforts to prepare the entertaining Easter Egg Hunt Road Rally on April 16. Forty Maverick Porsche Club members united at the Interurban Railway Museum in Plano to begin their hunt for treasures through the winding back roads between Plano and Lake Lavon on their way to the San Martiño Winery. Though clouds were gathering and threatening wet weather, most of the rain held off for all to enjoy a beautiful North Texas spring day. Despite a few sprinkles, the cars started off clean and looked just as shiny when they arrived at the winery. The rally teams, in 18 cars, had up to three hours to navigate the 71 miles of country roads in search of gimmick items that could only be determined by Eighteen Maverick teams getting solving clever pre-rally instructions word puzzles. Newcomers and seasoned rallyists challenged their powers of deductive reasoning to identify homonyms, word crop riddles, and math equations to resolve the 46 puzzles presented along the scenic route. The rally passed through Southfork Ranch, as well as Farmersville’s quaint town square, and allowed for a possible pit stop in Nevada to test lady luck at the Josephine Market’s two slot machines. Rallyists had to be on the lookout for gimmick items such as a dragon’s head, a halfburied airplane tail, a peacock Rally Co-Chair Don Sebert providing crossing, parrots some individual instruction and palm trees. The group reunited at the San Martiño Winery for lunch on the shaded garden veranda of this lush hideaway just outside the city of Rockwall. The familyowned winery specializes in handcrafted wines and reserved the grounds for our Maverick group. Members 16 June

brought picnic lunches, while some stopped at nearby Big Daddy’s BBQ for sandwiches, and enjoyed Porsche club camaraderie and great Texas wine while the Rallymasters tallied the results.

The competition was jovial as gatherers shared their sightings and misses and the different possible interpretations of the puzzling clues. Awards were given to the top three finishers, as well as the DLBF (Dead Last But Finished), who should feel encouraged because they have only one way to go in future rallies . . . up!

Sunday Drive Recap: By Bob Molyneux

Back to Ben Wheeler

Photos by Bill Orr*

What a wonderful day

for a drive in the country! The temperatures were in the low 80s, and there were enough clouds to keep the temperatures in check. Most importantly, however, the roads were dry! The April event began and ended at Moore’s Store in Ben Wheeler, TX, a town that is only a kink in an East Texas road. This is a small rural town that has had a post office in place since 1876, so there is a lot of history here! One of the great things about these drives is the wide variety of cars that show up. Being a lifelong Porsche enthusiast, I always enjoy seeing the new and the old, and getting stories from some of the owners. This day was no exception. We had a great sampling of Porsches, including a Martini-themed 918.

passing. Even if you are following a farm truck going ten miles an hour -- no passing! Little did our group know how prophetic this discussion would be, as, early in the drive, our group followed a very slow local meandering through the beautiful curvy roads of East Texas. Our group did follow the rule, however, as we did not pass, and waited until the car turned off of our route so we could continue on at our own pace!

After all of the participants had signed the waiver, Sunday Drive Chair Tom Martin conducted a short drivers’ briefing to discuss some of the rules of the drive. One of the rules he mentioned was no Red group lining up to begin the drive

Drivers’ briefing to start the event

This drive had five groups, with a total of 63 cars and 101 people, that turned out to enjoy driving their Porsches far away from city traffic. The 75.5-mile route followed twisty roads through rolling hills in scenic country areas. In addition to Ben Wheeler, we went

through scenic little towns such as Murchison, Larue, Poynor, Moore Station, Brownsboro, and Edom. Some of these towns, however, were so small that the only indication we were in a town at all was the “Welcome To” sign as we entered. All of the twists and turns however, led to a very enjoyable drive! The final destination was Moore’s Store, right where we started, in a building that was constructed in 1933 as a general store. At the end of the drive a number of the participants enjoyed the restaurant’s Texas traditions, such as burgers and chicken fried steak, and got to catch up with fellow Maverick Region members. We need to give a big thank-you for the great job that was done by the five group leaders: Kurt Reuland, Young Slack, Tom Martin, Jon Glover, and Bill Orr. The job of the drive leaders is a lot like herding cats as they try to keep everyone together through turns, local traffic and traffic lights, and all of them did a great job of getting everyone back to Ben Wheeler!

the Texas countryside, which I probably would not do by myself. These types of events are the best to push the car to the limit in a safe way. It’s easy to go very fast on the Tollway, but we do that for only one minute and stand a big chance to go to jail right away and get a really expensive speeding ticket. My last Sunday Drive was really interesting. It was the Ben Wheeler tour. As it turned out, Guillaime Lhotellier, of French TV, had come to Dallas to follow me for about four days, filming me in my everyday life (work, car event, restaurant, and night life) for a documentary he is producing. My two best friends also flew in from Paris to visit, and they participated in the Ben Wheeler drive too. They drove my Boxster so they could be part of this amazing Sunday Drive for 76 miles of East Texas countryside. Guillaume and I drove in a 2014 Cayman S which I rented for the occasion. As my passenger, Guillaume was ready with his HD camera, filming every detail: the speed, the curves, and a bird’s eye view of the Texas countryside, all the while driving with 15 other cars in the same group, cruising at a really fun and lively pace. As a Porsche owner I always highly recommend to my clients that have Porsches that they join the PCA Maverick Region to enjoy this really exciting experience.

by Tony Sallé

Editor’s Note: French native Tony Sallé is a veteran hair stylist now based in Highland Park since 2012. He joined PCA in 2014. Everything started two and a half years ago when I purchased my dream car, a 2005 Porsche Boxster S. All my life I had small cars and not fancy ones either, because, living in Paris, the economy is not that great, and cars like Porsches don’t belong parked in the street unless you want scratches all over them after one week. Now I’m here in America with my Boxster, living the American Dream, and enjoying the fun of it. Not only that, I discovered the social community of PCA, where I can meet nice people who are passionate about the marque and other cars, vintage or modern. So far, I’ve been on two Sunday Drives and completed one Drivers’ Education event. The experience of participating in these events is unbelievable. I had so much fun, and learned so much about my car and my driving. I was really surprised to learn that we can ask a lot more from our cars than we think. At first, I was surprised that I was a bit scared to take fast turns, but not for long, thanks to my driving instructor at the DE. The Sunday Drives also let me discover a bit of

First Porsche: By Tom Martin

Still Alive and Well

Albert Einstein once

said that the most powerful force in the universe is compound interest. No argument here, but it just may rival the power of the Porsche aircooled “bubble.” “What’s that?” you ask. It’s the outrageous, and often insane, asking prices that air-cooled Porsches command these days. Granted, there are logical, and several illogical, reasons why this situation exists. But as I learned many moons ago in my business career, the value of anything is determined by what the market can bear. Apparently, the current Porsche air-cooled market can bear quite a lot. Without question, there is a Porsche mystique. It’s real. Porsche cultivates and grooms it very well indeed. Consider their recent entries. In the last twelve months alone, Porsche has introduced the following models: 911 GTS, 911R, Club Coupe, Club Blau, GT3RS, Cayman GT4, and Boxster Spyder. One could easily tire of the antics of the Mother Company, but few stray from its mantra, and no one can doubt the success of their new model introductions and marketing. And now, Porsche is going all turbo; even including some fourbangers. Consider how this could affect the future market of the normally aspirated screamin’ flat-sixes, both air AND water-cooled models. Just sayin’ . . . In the April, 2015 edition of Slipstream, I recounted the experience of owning my very first Porsche, a 1953 356 America Coupe. I bought her in 1974 for $1,000.00. In 2013, the very same car, sporting only new paint, with original patina, listed for $200,000.00. That’s a 20,000% increase. Yes, you read that right: a twenty thousand percent increase!

Zuffenhaus Eurowerks, who would be

more than happy to offer their thoughts on the car’s condition.” Respected and knowledgeable Maverick member Bob Aines, who is part owner of the aforementioned shop, confirmed to me that 50748 was indeed an “ordinary” example. But still, it commanded high dollar at its sell. No matter that the entire front clip had been replaced. The fact that the car was a pre-A model in original condition, in “time capsule” patina, along with a well-established provenance, virtually guaranteed that 50748 would sell. The original sales invoice lists the Porsche in its current color of Maroon. According to the Kardex and the Certificate of Authenticity however, the car was originally shipped to New York with Ivory exterior paint with a Green leather interior, not with Maroon exterior paint with Tan corduroy interior. This raised even more questions: Porsche Americas came with corduroy interiors, not leather.

Maroon exterior with tan corduroy interior

This indicates two possible scenarios: (1) at, or just before, the time of delivery, 50748 underwent a color change to Maroon (color code 503) over a Tan corduroy interior that still resides in the car today or, (2) there was a clerical error within the identification of the model’s build specification, which was a fairly common occurrence, according to Porsche experts. Personally, I believe there was a clerical error. I also find it highly unlikely that 50748 was “downgraded”

to a Porsche America, the stripped down model produced specifically for the American market. Plus, Kurt stripped the paint down to the bare metal, and there was no trace of Ivory paint. Porsche was not always the efficient manufacturer it is today. The original 356 bodies were hammered out imperfectly in Gmünd. According to a former Porsche factory driver in the 60’s, Porsche was more like a hobby shop than a serious world contender. For cryin’ out loud, the Porsche factory workers searched parts bins for materials while uncompleted cars sat on the production line, and drank beer on their breaks. Regardless, 50748 sold quickly, reportedly to a buyer in Dallas, through a broker on behalf of a family trust. My understanding is that the new owner planned to use the 50748 in some sort of Regional Rally. Based on my experience of over forty years ago, I certainly would not attempt any such venture, especially this late in the game. Then in August of last year, someone began making serious inquiries as to the whereabouts of 50748, to several people in its lineage, self-included, plus some esteemed local 356 experts. Persistence (and a lot of money I presume) paid off for the person making the inquiries. He took possession of 50748 soon after. The new owner, a real estate developer in Houston, plans to restore 50748 to the “original” state dictated by the authoritative Kardex and Certificate of Authenticity: Ivory exterior with Green leather interior. I disagree with this course of action, feeling it represents a sort of a forced “Pygmalion” effect upon the original article. So what is it about the mystique of a 60+ year old, underpowered, evil-handling sports car that could pique the interest of prospective buyers and compel them to offer such high prices? Whatever the answer, the fact remains that a Porsche birthed in Germany in 1953 is still alive, and presumably very well indeed.

Maverick Monthly Social: By Brenda Dranow, Slipstream Wrangler

The April Monthly Social for the Maver-

ick Region Porsche Club took place at the Wildwood Grill located in Southlake. As you would expect, great looking Porsches filled the parking lot. When you entered the restaurant, you could hear and see the many Maverick members gathered in the side room socializing and enjoying the complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Well attended, the room was bursting at the seams! Members talked about past events and upcoming events as well as topics of all kinds. Everyone was having great times catching up with old friends as well as meeting new ones. The members who stayed to have dinner elected to break off into smaller groups to dine, and

all looked like they were really enjoying themselves. Stephanie Ho (PCA Maverick Region Monthly Social Chair) did a great job making sure everyone was having a good time, in addition to her making sure the new members were introduced to the not-so-new members. Many have asked how to better get acquainted with and learn more about the social aspects of the Maverick Club and these monthly socials provide that opportunity. For June, the monthly social will be held at the Silver Fox located in Grapevine. Spread the word and we look forward to seeing you there!!

Around the Bend... By Jim Hirsch, Managing Editor

Waking up, is your Porsche

the first thing you think about? This is your Porschephile litmus test for the month - did you pass? It’s the inexorable desire of all things Porsche that continues to bind us together as Maverick Region members of the Porsche Club of America. While firing up the boxer six cylinder (or 4 or V6 or V8 or even diesel as the case may be) engine and sliding the shifter into gear, the word “motoring” suddenly seems appropriate and not the least bit pretentious. Simply driving your Porsche can’t help but make you feel classier. Most of today’s cars focus on isolating the driver and passengers, essentially eliminating what makes your Porsche so exciting - that being the journey itself. Everything on those other cars is designed to be a distraction from the actual journey - to distance the occupants as far as possible from the experience of the trip. Your Porsche, on the other hand, is all about the experience of the trip. Our Porsche cars are not about getting somewhere to have an experience; every time the key is turned, they are an experience. Go on a road trip in one of the “other” cars and you’ll remember the destination. Go on a road trip in your Porsche and you’ll remember the drive. If you don’t feel the need to turn and look at your Porsche after you have parked it you must be driving the wrong car. Sometimes even a complete walk around is necessary . . . not just a turn and look. Porsche . . . there is no substitute! I hope that each issue of Slipstream continues to help build and strengthen your relationship with your Porsche as well as your fellow members. Please consider sharing your motoring experiences with your Porsche with our readers.

And, continuing in this issue on page 23, member David Cavazos shares his Porsche-based cartoons. David has titled his series as “Pcar-Tunes” and this month’s submission fits perfectly with Tom Martin’s article about his first Porsche. Also, in our continuing Slipstream initiative - Mav Photos of the Month - the focus for this month was dramatic backgrounds with your Porsche. Thanks to our members for submitting these great photos, shown on page 31. For the July issue, our focus will be Porsche cabriolets and roadsters for the summer driving season. Send your photo submissions to editor@mavpca.org, or post them on our Maverick Region Porsche Club of America Facebook group page by June 10. In case you missed this joke when it made the rounds a few months ago, it fits nicely with this “Around the Bend.” A Porsche Joke at Ferrari’s Expense In 1988, Enzo Anselmo Ferrari, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God began showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a small Ferrari flag in the window. “This house is yours for eternity, Enzo,” said God. “This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here.” Enzo felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house. On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a huge mansion with a carbon fiber sidewalk, a 50-foot-tall flagpole with an enormous Porsche flag, and in every window, a Porsche crest. Enzo looked at God and said, “God, I’m not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I have a good manufacturer; my cars won Le Mans and F1 championships. Why does Ferdinand Porsche get a better house than me?” God chuckled and said, “Enzo, that’s not Ferdinand’s house, it’s mine!”
