Please help us to keep growing! 4

Road Ramblings by Keith Olcha, Maverick Region President

T

he weather is changing and fall is around the corner. The last autocross this year is at Texas Motor Speedway in October, and it is also our charity autocross. By charity, we mean a portion of the fee will be donated to charity and the club will write off any loss from the event. A loss can occur since TMS is a relatively expensive parking lot to rent. They've given us a break on the price as their donation to charity, but it might not be enough unless we get 60-80 cars out there. This will be a low key event, novices are welcome, and we'll be helping out the Hope Shelter. Won't you please come and run the event? If you donate another $5-$10 it will be greatly appreciated. Please come out and drive, or make a small donation if you can, to the shelter. The Hope Shelter is our main charity. It is a refuge for women and their children who need some way to recover from the desperate and hopeless situation of an abusive home. The ultimate goal of the shelter is for them to leave and go out and live a normal and productive life. At the recent Maverick group watching of "Top Speed" at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, advance ticket sales netted the shelter $90. We're hoping the charity autocross can add another couple of hundred dollars.

...watertight in up to 24 inches of water... On September 6th, a caravan of Mavericks driving 5 trucks full of donated items made its way to the shelter. Not only were the items greatly needed and appreciated (there were several families living there at that time) but there was also a breakthrough in the shelter's quest for materials on some maintenance projects they desperately need. Kevin Procaccino, an executive at Mercedes Homes and an avid Maverick club racer and DE instructor got his company to donate paint to repaint both the exterior and the whole interior of the shelter. Kevin had not been to the shelter before and he was affected, like many others, with a calling from within to help this worthy cause. Please come out on October 26th to TMS.

than the GT3. But for $65,000 more, the GT2 had better be. If you are a track person, the GT3 will be more satisfying than a 996 twin turbo as it has only 35 less horsepower, yet weighs 300 pounds less - just about a wash, and with bigger brakes and wheels and no sunroof for added strength. It has a nice interior with leather and power everything. Even though we didn't turn it on, it even comes with a CD-radio. I also had the opportunity to take a drive in a 2004 Cayenne S. We held our September board meeting at Autobahn Motor Cars in Fort Worth and they gave several of us test rides in a Cayenne on their off-road course that they built adjacent to the dealership for demonstrating Land Rovers and Cayennes. What the vehicle can do off-road is amazing. It can climb and descend brutally steep grades, hold position on grades without using the brakes, and can lock side-to-side, and front-to-back differentials for incredible wet and dry traction. It can even pull with only one wheel having grip. It is also watertight in up to 24 inches of water. The only thing more impressive than the Cayenne's off-road prowess is it's acceleration and braking considering it weighs 6000 pounds. When you consider the Cayenne's engineering and abilities off road and on road, you can see why it costs what it does. There's a lot of typical Porsche engineering in this newest product line. I can't think of two more opposite vehicles - a Cayenne and a GT3 - yet I did know and was driving a Porsche in both. Since I've been driving a 911 since 1989,which one do you think I liked best? One last item of note is a road rally on Saturday, October 25th. I'll see you there; till next month then.

Last month I mentioned that I missed out on a couple of opportunities to experience some great vehicles in August. Well, I made up for it in September. My first drive was in Myron Krupp's 2004 GT3. Now the thing that amazed me most about the car was the redline. The maximum RPM of the GT3 engine is 8200 rpm. Unlike some Fiat's I'd driven in the 1970s, this motor had amazing elasticity; it was strong from 3000 rpm right up until 8000 (I didn't do the full 8200). You can drive the car in third gear all the time, 20mph up until 75 mph. The second thing is the noise from both the engine mechanicals and the exhaust. Not offensive, but no need for sport mufflers here- it's throaty and raspy- forget a radio, this is better than Mozart or the Beatles. It seems much noisier than anything else on the road. It sounds like a racecar 50% of the time. One might think the ride would be harsh, but it wasn't much harder than my Boxster S with sport suspension and 18 inch wheel/tires. I drove a GT2 for a few laps at MotorSport Ranch, and I will tell you it was faster and stiffer 5

2 for 2 As one of only two dealerships in the country to earn the Premiere Dealer and Perfect Service Award - and the only one in the Lone Star State - we were, shall we say, a bit excited. Thanks to our incredible clients, our perfection-driven staff, and Porsche, for giving us a reason to celebrate today, and every day.

Curves Ahead by Matt Platts, Editor

I

recently realized that I’ve had my 924S for just over five years. A lot of things have changed in my life in those five years, but I still get a grin on my face every time I get behind the wheel. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I really enjoy driving (some might say that I enjoy it too much!), and this car sure makes every drive a treat. I’ve done several things to my 924S in these five years, mostly maintenance items like belts (a must on the 2.5l water-pumper), belt rollers, seals, plugs/wires, oil-cooler rebuild, water pump, a couple of sets of rotors, a few sets of pads (DE’s will do that), new shocks, sway bar upgrades, suspension bushing upgrades, and a few other odds-and-ends. The clutch went out at Parade, so a new clutch was in order, as well as engine mounts and some new exhaust hanger hardware. I also decided to have the air conditioner fixed since it’s been out for a couple of years. Now that I’ve had all that work done, I feel like my car’s almost new again! It’s just as much fun to drive now as it was when I first took it for a spin in New Hampshire before I fell in love with it. I plan on driving this car until it completely falls apart – and I don’t expect that to happen any time soon. 190,000 miles and counting. I know I’m preaching to the choir, but these cars (even the cheap ones) are a blast to drive, aren’t they?!?

We had a few non-regulars show up at the September board meeting that was hosted at Autobahn Porsche in Fort Worth. That was my first time to see their facility; it’s a very impressive dealership. As you would expect at a Porsche dealership, attention to detail was at the top of their list. The customer waiting area had a high-definition plasma screen to view while you are waiting for an oil-change (or waiting for the board meeting attendees to show up), there are snacks and soft-drinks, and a parts counter that carries shirts, caps, all sorts of cool Porsche trinkets (I think all the real "parts" are hidden out back somewhere). I’m looking forward to checking out our other area dealerships at the next two board meetings –Park Place in October, and Boardwalk in November. All members are welcome, so come by and join us! October is full of events, there’s a Happy Hour at a cool place in Irving, the RPM Café. We’ve also got a Time Trial, and a tour to Arkansas. Then the end of the month has promises to be fun multi-event weekend including a Tulip Rally, Halloween Party, and our annual Autocross to benefit the Hope Shelter. This Autocross counts toward season points, and it’s also going to be a test of how we plan to run the Autocross at next year’s Parade here in Fort Worth. Soon following all that fun is the Founders Day Banquet at the Speedway Club above Texas Motor Speedway. We expect a great turnout at all of these events, so I hope to see you there!

Maverick Minutes by Wendy Shoffit

T

he September board meeting was held at Autobahn Motorcars in Fort Worth on Tuesday, 9/7/03. Autobahn graciously supplied us with fajitas from Dos Gringos, a nice meeting room, and special Cayenne test track runs. Thanks! In attendance were Keith Olcha, Bob Knight, Cody Sears, Teri and Charlie Davis, Jan Mayo, Mike Brodigan, Joe McGlohen, John Sandusky, Albert Sansores, Wendy Shoffit, Lanean Hughes, Graham Lane, new attendee Josh Roberts, and back-from-the-north Bob Ande. The meeting began at 7:25 PM. Keith allowed everyone to take a turn around the room. Cody – Time Trial #4 was successful with over 30 attendees. We made money on the event and overall are positive for the year. Since Autocross #7 (Oct. 26) at TMS will most likely lose money, it’s nice to have a cushion. We need to have trophies made for AX and TT season winners. A motion was passed to spend $2000 for trophies this year. He also brought up a discussion regarding the Wednesday pre-tech before AX or TT events. Although we have strongly encouraged attendance, turnout has been steadily declining. Board members were asked for recommendations. Suggestions included having a secondary tech location or doing away with pre-tech and having tech only at the track. Most agreed that we don’t want to discourage participation. Cody and Mark Steele will make the final decision. Teri – We have a rally on Oct. 25th, which will include parts 8

of the Parade rally. She’ll advertise it with AX #7 and the Halloween party to encourage participation. She needs many volunteers to help run this event. We also might need to buy rally clocks and repair others. Charlie – Made changes to the Truxster, including an improved sound system. He will be trying some Parade AX logistics for AX #7 at TMS. He has also been working hard on the timing display. A series of problems has him working on alternates. Mike – We have lost 4 advertisers, but have replaced one and Mike has leads on others. He mentioned the bylaws require several financial documents be reported quarterly, which Bob will work on. John – The September DE is full through the yellow group, with 100 entrants and 62 instructor candidates. We have set the DE dates for 2004 (watch calendar). He is still trying to work out details for a mid-week event at MSR this year. Lanean – (as Mimi) Halloween party is on 10/25. Teri will announce rally results & hand out trophies. Contact Mimi with other special requests. Holiday party location is set at the Walker’s. Lanean told of the convoy of packed trucks that went to the very grateful shelter on 9/6. Kevin Procaccino (Mercedes Homes) has agreed to buy paint for the shelter and others have donated their labor. She also mentioned Founder’s Day is coming up (11/8). DE Sponsorship has been set for next year. Thanks, as always, to our dealerships, Autobahn, Boardwalk, and Park Place. The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.

Nacogdoches Tour - Find Every Dairy Queen in East Texas by John & Chris Hamilton

A

small but hearty band of ten cars took the Nacogdoches tour in August, led by perennial Tourmeister, Ted Glover. We had our 7:30 a.m. drivers’ meeting at a Wal-Mart just east of Dallas, then headed East to explore the back roads of East Texas and some Piney Woods country. Two Boxsters, a 928, a 930, a Turbo and several 911’s led the pack, with Bonnie and Mimi in the BMW as the caboose. Picture-perfect weather had been ordered-up, and that’s what we got (except for two 5-minute humiditycleansing showers).

of the Davey Crockett National Forest. The roads were clear, the scenery was beautiful, and the cars were humming as we cruised through the well-mapped-out tour. Along the way we stopped by our first of several Dairy Queens, for some well-deserved refreshments. Finally, we ended our day in Nacogdoches at the Fredonia Hotel. Dinner at D. Gar’s Bistro was delicious, with some great memories of the day to be shared by all. Sunday morning brought us another beautiful day for touring. We left the hotel at a much-more leisurely 9 a.m. and had an enjoyable romp to Rusk before driving to Palestine for lunch. Sunday’s lunch stop was at Don Jose’s, which had a special $9.99

Back roads took us to Palestine and the Texas State Railroad for our first rest stop. Then it was on east to Lufkin for lunch at the Crown Colony Country Club (only disappointment: Bob Lewis didn’t have his golf clubs!). After lunch, we took a roundabout tour

all-you-can-eat buffet. What a meal! After a very enjoyable lunch, it was time to hit the roads and start to make our way back toward Dallas. But not without one last D.Q. stop!

‘nuff said...

Every car worked perfectly throughout the tour, and the FRS radios kept us in constant contact throughout the trip and kept the pack together. Everyone got to meet a few new people, and got to know others even better. And our Porsche’s and BMW were well up to the task and gave us a great tour of East Texas, its restaurants, and all the Dairy Queens that we want to see for the next six months! Thanks, Ted for a great tour. The diet starts tomorrow!

Between people that RSVP’d and drop-ins, my guess is that nearly 100 Mavericks showed up to watch ‘Top Speed’. Very impressive turnout. The show was quite enjoyable, watching Lucas Luhr driving around Road Atlanta (175 MPH on Turn 12?) in the GT3RS to Marla Streb taking a mountain bike down the bobsled course. Double thumbs up from this viewer! You can check out details at http://www.topspeedfilm.com. It did take me about 15 minutes after walking out of the OMNI to completely regain my balance.

Maverick members took up most of the theater Maverick member was to get in front of James in a buffet line).

Afterwards, many of us headed over to a wonderful meal at Fort Worth Blue Mesa. Excellent choice, Mimi! As the highest ranking officer at the event, I managed to get our table in the food line before the Shoffits’ table (one of the first things I learned as a

uite a few Mavericks made the trek over to the Fort Worth Cultural District to check out ‘Top Speed’ at the Omni Theater. Being a resident of East Dallas, this was my first trip to this area in few years. The Boxster S decided not to join me in my westward journey, I had to sneak in a Chevy truck amongst Porsches in the reserved parking area.

Caravan to Hope! by Lanean Hughes

n Saturday, September 6, 2003, several Maverick members and friends headed to Mineral Wells to deliver items for the shelter. With 2 suburbans, 1 Explorer, 1 station wagon, 2 trucks and a van, we not only took up lots of space on 820 and I-20, but also at the shelter upon arrival. Many thanks to Carol Pierce of Boardwalk Porsche who spearheaded the staff there for donations, to Larry Irby/BWP for the use of his suburban, Bill and Sharron Dawson, Kevin Procaccino and their 3 great children, Brian Scudder, Clara Lewis and granddaughter Kristen, Mimi & Geneva Spreen, Wendy Shoffit, and Cody Sears (for the use of his truck).

...help those who turn to us in times of need... After our visit to the shelter where we took notes of what is needed and what we can do to continue our support, we stopped off at the MineralRing to see the TT folks. Then we headed to Farmhouse Restaurant in Cool, Texas for some great home cooked food! The staff at Hope sincerely appreciate our donations, and as they said “It is through generous donations like yours that we are able to help those who turn to us in times of need!

British GP & Porsche Super Cup Race By Steve Patti

F

or 7 days in July, the UK becomes the place to be for professional golf and motor sports -- The British Open, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and The British Grand Prix at Silverstone. For those of us blessed with the opportunity to travel frequently to Europe, attending even one of these events would be a treat. And so it was that a call from one of my clients for a meeting in Paris meant landing in the UK on the weekend of The British Grand Prix. I immediately went to work to locate a ticket for this event, despite its being officially “sold out” for six months in advance. A call to a UK ticket broker and $400 later I had a grandstand seat on Turn 1 and a parking pass.

The Super Cup race was everything I imagined including door-to-door contact in short carousels, cars off the track, textbook blocking moves exiting corners, and the roar of Porsche’s latest water-cooled power plants. There was even one incidence that us air-cooled guys tend to forget about – a blown radiator that dumped coolant on the track (luckily the driver took the car off line). There was one American driver (Long) who started in the middle of the pack for the UPS sponsored team and he fought courageously to 4th place with two laps left but couldn’t quite get himself a podium finish (no American has a podium finish in the 2003 Cup season). The only disappointment was that the Super Cup race was only 12 laps (equivalent to PCA Sprint).

Buried in the 4-race line up was a Porsche Super Cup race just two hours before the F1 race and it would be my first chance to see the latest 996GT3 Cup cars in action live on European soil. Truth be known, I think I wanted to see the Super Cup race more than the other 3 races that day, including the F1 race. The event began with the Vodaphone Maserati challenge (GT race) at 9am, followed by the Porsche Super Cup race at 11am, followed by the F1 race at 1pm, and a vintage/antique race at 4pm.

The winner of the race was Frank Stippler, a former champion and three-time race winner this season. His silver GT3 Cup was under heavy pursuit during the entire race after he made a couple of unbelievable passes to take the lead and then he had to pull out all the stops to defend his position against a very fast lead pack. As an aside, Frank was the guy who set-up the suspension on my Carrera RS ClubSport PCA race car (so no more jokes about all the nasty negative camber!)

The journey to Silverstone from my hotel in London at 6am on a Sunday morning got the adrenaline pumping, including an express train to Heathrow airport for the rental car, a 70 mile

...I got to wear my PCA Club Race t-shirt and mingle with the locals...

There’s a lot to like about the cars, tracks, and motor sport culture in Europe and for one day I got to wear my PCA Club Race t-shirt and mingle with the locals. The entire experience reminded me that while we don’t have a Super Cup series in the USA, PCA Club Racing does give us amateurs an alternative for getting our Porsche speed fix without expensive trips across the pond.

While the facilities at Silverstone are very basic (not nearly as high tech as the Nurburgring), you get a sense of the history of this old airfield. A careful review of the track map, with its deceiving elevation changes and decreasing radius turns, and you know that it’s a PCA Club Racer’s dream. 18

drive at speeds of over 100 mph on the M40 motorway, and a 30 minute “park and ride” excursion on a double-decker bus. Oh, by the way, I got passed on the M40 by a new 2003 Mercedes E55 doing 120mph and I still managed to snap a digital picture of him blowing by, only to park two cars away from him at the track park and ride!

Time Trial #4 at Mineral Wells by Mike Bridges

E

ver missed a couple of events, then when you came back you just couldn't believe how much fun they were? Well, due to family commitments I missed the last two time trials, and couldn't believe what an absolute blast I had when I returned! Turnout was pretty light, only 30 cars (come on, people, WHERE ARE YOU??). As a result, we got to run 6 laps in the morning and 4 in the afternoon, yippee!

...and blast off again to turn 4 which I’ve NEVER gotten right... consolations: first, I was one of the few to improve their times in the afternoon (which means I was getting better on the course more than the increased temps were slowing me down), and I took top time in my class! Of course, I was also mid-pack and caboose as well (the only one in OA).

I can't wait for the next one!

My run group was working first, and then running, so I got to work the start/finish line, which is usually not dull, and especially this time! For those of you who haven't run at a time trial, if you go off course, that's a DNF (did not finish). If you DNF twice in the same spot (which I've done), you get the black flag at start/finish to come off course, then you go back out with an instructor to show you what you're doing wrong. Of course, if you DNF AT the start/finish line, that puts you in close proximity to the course workers (got to have the flags reasonably close to be in the driver's field of view). When you DNF there multiple times, we're likely to start throwing the black flag at you, literally! Word to the drivers, WATCH THE FLAGS! Also to the course workers, if a Red flag is called, don't just stand at the station and hold the red flag up, the driver is likely to miss it. WAVE it like crazy and get into the driver's field of view (not dangerously, of course). OK, off my soapbox.

NEVER gotten right! Decreasing radius, off-camber, just an absolute ball to drive! My best time of the morning was 70.3xx seconds, so my goal for the afternoon was to break into the sixties. Alas,‘twas not to be, as I managed to get down to a 70.30x, but no better. On the other hand, I had two

Course #1 is my favorite, especially in the ‘Vette. It's the fastest, especially going into turn 3, the hairpin. I got it right twice, actually touching on the rev limiter in 3rd gear, about 108-110 mph (not paying real close attention to the speedometer!). Then it's HARD on the brakes, down to 2nd gear, around the hairpin, and blast off again to turn 4, which I've

Tech Session at Boardwalk Porsche by Michael Wingfield n Saturday morning, September 13, about 30 Maverick Region members descended on Boardwalk Porsche for the Boardwalk Tech Session. Besides being greeted by the friendly staff at Boardwalk Porsche, Maverick members found an ample supply of donuts, kolaches, orange juice, hot cocoa, and coffee to help wake up to the business of learning about cars.

O

Not only did Boardwalk host show-and-tell on the cars in the service bay, but also they had several product vendors and representatives to answer questions about their individual wares. Pirelli Tires, Mobil-1 Oil, and Xtreme Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) each had product and service information, as well as lots of free goodies available to give to the inquisitive individual.

The format of this event was slightly different than some tech sessions. This event was operated under a walk, look, and ask (Q&A) format rather than a formal presentation of a topic. To help spawn questions, Boardwalk Porsche had several cars on display in the service area, along with some automotive-related product and service vendors.

The gentlemen from Xtreme PDR held a drawing for a free PDR repair as a demonstration of their service. If you ever had a dent on your Porsche, now was the time to show it off as the technicians reviewed each dent in each car presented for service and drew an owner’s name from the hat. Dennis Chamberlain was the lucky winner of the free demonstration PDR and pulled his maroon Boxster into the service bay for all to see. Within a few short minutes, the guys from Xtreme PDR had removed the left air intake (with some assistance from John Gladwill, Porsche Master Technician), and smoothed out the dent in the left rear fender of Dennis’ Boxster as good as new. The Xtreme PDR guys are at Boardwalk Porsche General Manager, Bobby Rodriguez every Wednesday, so if you have a PDR need, call a service advisor and schedule an appointment.

Up on the lifts within the service area, sat a Silver Cayenne S, a black GT3, and a black 996 without an engine. The Cayenne served as the subject vehicle for John Gladwill’s Q&A on the new all-wheel drive

suspension of the Cayenne. The GT3 served as the subject for Q&A for the composite brake components on this car. A new caliper, composite rotor and brake pads were displayed beside the GT3. Having replaced several rotors on my 951, I was amazed at the light weight of the composite rotor and the six-piston caliper. Finally, for anyone who wondered what a 996 would look like without an engine, one simply had to look up under the rear of the car. Also on display in the service area was a black Cayenne Turbo and a silver GT2.

Cliff Blackshear, the Shop Foreman, then lead everyone outside for a demonstration of an airbag deployment. Cliff gave us some background on how airbags work, and then asked us to stand clear of the bag. John Gladwill next set off the airbag, which came from the passenger side of a 996. The sound of the explosion was deafening! Likewise, the force of the charge sent the airbag and mounting bracket soaring over ten feet straight up in the air, where it then floated down to the ground like a hot air balloon. Boardwalk Porsche President Bobby Rodriguez encouraged further discussion by relating a personal story of having been on a car when the airbags deployed. Other stories then began to circulate among those persons who had actually experienced

Karen - Eric may be hiding something in the garage...

Thanks again to Boardwalk Porsche (Bobby Rodriguez, Larry Irby, John Gladwill, Rick Jordan, Cliff Backshear, Hans Hoffmann, Carol Pierce, and Tracy Rathburn), and others that took time away from their Saturday to play host to some inquisitive Mavericks. Likewise, thanks to Xtreme PDR, Mobil-1, and Pirelli for participating in the tech session.

Finally, it was time to distribute the many door prizes provided by Boardwalk Porsche, Mobil-1, and Pirelli. Among the door prizes of shirts, caps, jackets, and Frisbees, were some very elegant gifts including a miniature model car collection set, a talking Boxster (which speaks in three languages), Pirelli calendars, and designer racing watches.

similar airbag deployments in accident situations. I found it remarkable that those relating the stories said they never heard the explosion of the airbag as the din of metal crashing and glass breaking drowned out sound of the airbag charge. After hearing several such stories, I count myself blessed to have never experienced such a situation.

Thanks for the help, Noby

Porsche Announces 911 Turbo Cabriolet by Porsche Cars North America ATLANTA, GEORGIA, July 22, 2003 --- Porsche has announced it will produce the first 911 Turbo Cabriolet since 1989. Arriving at Porsche dealerships in the fall of this year, the 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet is based on the existing Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe, incorporating the Coupe's engine, body structure, four-wheel drive system, chassis, and suspension and brake systems Power for the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet, transferred through either the manual six-speed or optional five-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.6liter six-cylinder engine producing 415 (SAE) horsepower. It propels the car from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.3 seconds and to a top track speed of 189 mph (305 km/h). Taking styling features from the 911 Turbo Coupe, the Cabriolet incorporates the Coupe's three large front air intake cooling scoops, intercooler air intakes in the rear side panels, and a rear spoiler that deploys at 75 mph (120 km/h) and retracts at 55 mph (80 km/h). As found on all current Porsche 911 Cabriolets, the Turbo Cabriolet is equipped with a power convertible top that raises or lowers in just 20 seconds. To maintain body stiffness, the 911 Turbo Cabriolet's structure is enhanced with reinforced side-sills featuring body panels and elements doubled in thickness, additional junction plates, and shaft reinforcements behind the B pillar.

To ensure supreme stopping power at all times without the slightest fading, the new Turbo Cabriolet comes with four-piston fixed-caliper brakes plus inner-vented, cross-drilled brake discs front and rear measuring 13.0 in. (330 millimeters) in diameter. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are available as an option, setting new standards in terms of brake response, fadefree performance, low weight and a long service life. Eighteeninch light alloy wheels with tires measuring 225/40 on the front axle and 295/30 on the rear axle transfer the braking power to the road. The 911 Turbo Cabriolet comes with an extensive range of standard equipment. This includes metallic paint, full leather interior, a hardtop and wind deflector, Bose audio system and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system comprising a double tuner, CD player, navigation system and trip computer. It will be available beginning in October of this year starting at a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $128,200 U.S. and $187,800 Canadian. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), based in Atlanta, Ga., and its subsidiary, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd., are the exclusive importers of Porsche vehicles for the United States and Canada. A wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG, PCNA employs approximately 200 people who provide Porsche vehicles, parts, marketing and training for its 204 U.S. and Canadian dealers. They, in turn, provide Porsche owners with best-in-class service.

Photo provided by PCNA

Like the Turbo Coupe and all Porsche CarreraÂŽ 4 models, the Turbo Cabriolet's four-wheel drive system delivers from five to 40 percent of the engine power to the front wheels depending on driving conditions. The new Turbo Cabriolet is also fitted with

the Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system as standard equipment.
