I think doing art should be linked to our lives and not understood as something detached. The experiencing of the things and events in life comprehended much more in an aesthetic and powerful cognitive way. As when you don’t listen and then you sharpen the ears, as when you can’t see and then you look not only carefully but with appropriation, as when you grope searching with the acuity of actually being affected by this you get to know then. I read these sentences as one who needs to revisit them constantly so that this understanding doesn’t fall into oblivion. An attempt to expand the sensitive as an artistic elaboration, something in a constant exercise. I like to believe in art practices, the different media, as possibilities of transgression, transcreation and transposition of experiences. It goes through autobiographical instance, it is subjective and for that reason can affect the other in who I am contained in, the other who’s contained in me. The art doing exactly like this, partnershipping and intercrossing. Dance, performance, visual arts, poetry, music, text as well as fashion, design etc... as a means for creating ambiences that swallow us, overwhelming, bewildering, transporting us through and beyond our perception. For the other and I can discuss some ethical, political, social, psychological, sensitive, collective and personal aspects of our existence.

“Tuck 2 Me” comes to unite borders, open up our destinies and to mix sensations. In a delicious wordplay the song is very sensual, but it is also about denounce and about giving space to talk freely on subjects related trans and femme bodies. Video/Animation: Mavi & Tina Escarlatina. Production: Mavi Veloso & Guto Gutnic. Mixer: Urubu MarinkaMaster: Luisa Puterman Label: Hystereofônica. Design: Mavi Veloso & Orlando Cappi. Photography: Thiemi Higashi. Performing the video and collab in everything: Tina Escarlatina. 3
“Prayer Lil’ Mum” is a prayer, an attempt to try to understand our different comprehension of our bodies. A mantra to collect energy as a protection against violence and intolerance of a machist, repressive and normative culture.
“I Bit The Apple” a delicious and dangerous metaphor. When eating this forbidden fruit, the ideas would supposedly clear up. But perhaps if mixed with other hallucinogens, hormones and similars, it can cause other bombastic effects.
Music released in the compilation Hystereofônica. Label: Tropicaltwistarecords. Video maker: Thiemi Higashi. Voice recording: StudioHarris. Video recorded in: Studio Prins Hendrikkade (Shawn Chin) & Arti et Amicitiae (thanks Barbara van Ittersum).
A project appropriation of pop, trans and drag culture to reflect and try to promote revolution on sterotypes and normative standards.

Trans** Opera Trans
Trans* Opera is the third part of a trilogy, initiated in 2015 in Belgium with the performance “MUDA”, followed by “Truque Trrrah” created in 2018 in Amsterdam. The trilogy integrates the research project #iwannamakerevolution which will be explained further in this document. Trans* Opera orchestrates our personal experiences as femme, non-binary and trans* bodies. Stories of marginalization, rejection, and resistance. The performance explores on decolonization, the politics and technologies of gender as well as vocal and performative practices on the process of transitioning between gender identities. It's a manifesto built up by putting together our different voices, subjectivities and the diverse repertoire that each performer generously bring to the piece. Moving the crowds, scratching the floor with high heels, whipping bodies with microphones, singing songs about confrontation and renegated love we create a suspension in spacetime haunting the sound, performing violence, fierce and empowerment. A Project by Mavi Veloso. Creation & Performance: Dynno Dada, Mavi Veloso, Sanni Est, Tina Escarlatina. Costume: Gustavo Silvestre, Dynno Dada, Tina Escarlatina. was performed in venues and festivals such as the program “Why am I here” at van Abbemuseum, 2018, in Eindhoven (NL), “Queer B-Cademy” at Kampnagel, 2019, in Hamburg (DE) and “Reading Bodies” at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, 2019, in Berlin (DE). “Opening up perceptions, Truque Trrrah is a striking, dark and moving performance, where dance and music are invested as liberating experimental fields and where the body becomes the receptacle for multiple identities.” Les Urbaines, Lausanne, Switzerland. Truque, an effective, smart, or quick way to do something. Do it right, do it tricky, do it magic. Trrrah is a pajubá among us girls; tra, travesti, trava, tranny. The solo “Truque Trrrah” is an experimentation on voice, music and performance. A happening where we tuck new technologies of identity and gender politics. An appropriation on feminization and masculinization voice transition practices using them as performance tools to deconstruct standards and build up different layers between the concepts established for male and female. Project & Performance: Mavi Veloso. Sound Artist: João Paes & Glenn Ryszko. Costume: Alex Cassimiro. Truque Trrrah is the second part of the trilogy inside the #iwannamakerevolution project. MUDA/MUTE opens up the trilogy inside the project #iwannamakerevolution, a research project about displacement, in transit and mutant bodies conducted at Master of Voice at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam, postmaster research at A.PASS in Brussels, Belgium, and project in residency at ArtsEverywhere.ca. With discussions around migration, gender politics and the appropriation of body transformation process of people in gender transition, non-binaries bodies and people of transgender experience, different creations in perofrmance, photography, text and music are elaborated. MUDA/MUTE is choreography generated through sound and it’s music generated by choreography. It happens in dark 6
room. The performer is blindfolded. The audience is invited to participate using phones and cameras with flash. This will be the only way to see images being developed gradually with contrast between light and shadow. Using diverse elements to destabilize body and space the performer slowly draws movement in the darkness challenging and manipulating our perception. Concept and performance: Mavi Veloso. Collaboration in creation process: Caio Cesar. Collab in sound research Glenn Ryszko. Collab in past performances, Raphael Daibert, Olga Dimitrijević. Teaser: https://youtu.be/nV5HchAQcSY

“Human fingerprints are detailed, nearly unique, difficult to alter, and durable over the life of an individual, making them suitable as long-term markers of human identity. (font: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fingerprint) This photoperformance series establishes a parallel with the procedure of friction ridges used as ID marks. Photographs made by scanner documenting since 2013 different moments and transformation on male to female transition. The face, different parts of the body and symbolic objects, texture of skin, redistribution of fat and hair. Changes in performativity, the use of different procedures of sex and gender adjustment and readjustments altering a subject’s identity a positions in social, political and artistic life. 7

iwannamakerevolution book developed during post master research at A.PASS/Brussels/BE.
Book / magazine developed within one year postmaster research at a.pass (2015/2016). It contains drawings, texts, pictures which are considered as scores for performance. This collected material was generated by living experiences, transposed to notation and later on (some of them) became or is becoming transcreation in performance, dance, video clips, songs and so on. The objectives of the book is to document an artistic process. Also to witness a social and political life experience of migration from Brazil to Europe, and Male to Female transition process. And to share and offer procedures and tools for working with performance by digesting and readapting the content presented in the book. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9IUfoEDKMJBWHVkcnlaeFROeEU/ view?usp=sharing

Thus, questioning the artistic movement, how it influences Brazil and the world culturally and how it relates to current queer and gender discussions. 12
PRIVATE ROOM transfleshion body make up
performance + video 13
PRIVATE ROOM comes as unfolding of Indumentária Popular_cut & paste (started in 2013) and project TRANS (started in 2011). Concepts such as transdisciplinarity, gender, sexuality, identity, public and private, consume, appropriation, macro and micro social issues, how to bring revolution, how to change the world, how to change human being into something better, something worse. Body, what the body can, what subject and subjectivity can. Capitalism, spirituality, affections, infections, layers, layers, skins, cover, recover, discover. These were and are subjects that have been peeling the wigs out, that’s why the emergence of discussing this ideas still are very much in currency. Throughout crossing medias visual arts, photography, video, sound, ambience, installation, performance, dance and fashion, as method, tool, technique and language, in PRIVATE ROOM we try to close our eyes a bit, to maybe amplify other senses, to look back into our intimacy, into our intuition so affected and infected by outsides. What’s in, what’s out. Still the question what’s it me and what’s product of the context i am in.
“PRIVATE ROOM_ transfleshion body make up” is a performance/dance research in development, created and performed by Daniela Glamour Garcia, Dudu Quintanilha, Eidglas Xavier and Mavi Veloso. In partnership with Alex Cassimiro, Dani Favaretto, Natália Lima Castro, Pedro Galego and Rafael Pessanha in São Paulo/BR; Bixas_Lab, Catalina Rincon Gille, Celine Devos, Filipos van der Leert, Inez Kaukoranta, Issouf Ilboudo, Koen Cobbaert, Lola Chuniaud, Numa Verrez, Benoit Fasquelle, Swao Samba/Kiki in Brussels/ Belgium. Started being developed inside artist residence Red Bull Station in São Paulo And is currently part of postmaster research program in A.PASS {Advanced Performing And Scenography Studies} Brussels, Belgium. https://vimeo.com/119090254

Project Trans
A multimedia research in development by intercrossing languages of performance, dance, video, photography, fashion and design. It’s made by people to people, comes from the crowds and goes to the crowds. It’s a cut and paste composition, an outdoor entity, a chic gambiarragarment, sex and erotic, a mix of inputs and outputs, a way to perform, snaking through people, building an armor to strafe the other and I, a fictional creation for a collective body, an octopus situation, an attached to the skin lens, body-camera, the all-seeing eye, a transcreation infiltrated into daily life of a popular persona. Started within project Jardim Equatorial/COMO clube, São Paulo SP(2012-13). Inspired by artist Marcus Vinicius (Vitória/ES/BR) and your performance “no one” (2011). Based in the method/performative instruction “bodycamera” proposed by Dani Spadotto. Built thanks to many intercrossings, partnerships, support, afections, infections: Jardim Equatorial/COMO clube (São Paulo/SP/BR); “Las Rabiosas Eroticas“ artist residenc with Nadia Granados (Colômbia) at Casa Selvátiva (Curitiba/PR/BR) (2013); Benoit Izard (France) and his performance “Speed Dating”; Marcelo Evelin and the project 1000 Casas Núcle do Dirceu (2011) (Teresina/PI/BR). Was performerd by Allyson Amaral, Andrez Lean Ghizze, Caio, Dani Pinheiro, Eidglas Xavier, Gabi Vanzeta, Gustavo Silvestre, Helô Duran, Mavi Veloso, Teresa Moura Neves. 14

Preta is a proposition for ambiences to be experienced, to be lived, to dig interpersonal materialities through the use of a special garment and all possible relations to be established with the one who appropriates it. Using preta, a dressing developed by artist and fashion designer Alex Cassimiro based in the burkas, considering some crossings with brazilian artists Lygia Pape, Hélio Oiticica and Lygia Clark, creating and recreating a fantastic imaginary and also intercrossing with images of fashion he artists Alex Cassimiro, Andrez Lean Ghizze, Caio, Eidglas Xavier, Mavi

Latent River The film Latent River takes place in a abandoned ruin: the destroyed theatre of Casa do Povo in São Paulo. Flooded by a underground river, which springs up in the rain forest region, muddy waters transported the real and latent catastrophes of the dispossessed from the past into theatre. In these silent ruin, Latent River creates an anthology and index of variations, “short stories” and gestures framed by the catastrophe and set off a movement of resurrection and ungrounding. Dark storm is coming, blow over clouds of glitter and purple fog. film produced by COMO clube + Emilija Skarnulyte, Henrik Hws, Matti Aikio, Nicolas Siepen e Tanya Busse, during artist residence COMO clube transversal 2014 (proj by Thelma Bonavita sponsored by PROAC SP)

Images of paradise, the sky of humans, and the sandbanks where the queen of the sea lives. Organic body units that deal with dependence to desire blending with the desire of the whole integral part of nothing. Dead bodies almost alive in a dimension between what it means to be and to transcend the instant. The Bubble suspending time and the status quo, the decontextualization of the rigid structures that protect fear, the annihilation of one’s own will. Bubble desperate euphoria, rudimentary toy, scale of the world’s rubble. bubble egg, uterus, lung and the precariousness of a body that breathes for existing. To exist. Opaque and translucent bubble, shell and snail, remnants of what the wind takes from soap. the organization of the inside in the outside, bubble-body, occupying the rupture of what from now on can no longer be unified.
BUB BLE
fotos Jell Carone , Dirk Jan Jager & Sério Prucoli
A plastic and air object, a fragile and floating structure joined with transparent adhesive tapes. The Bubble happened to me like the space of a filled vacuum, an inflated territory that gave way to an almost childlike unbridled joy. The Bubble paraded on Jaime Forte street in the middle of headlights and bicycles, with children and adult-children, to get distroyed at the end of the street like a block of unruly dirt, gutted plastic thing full of holes. The Bubble is the skin and membrane, mucosa and retina, tactile and faded, organ of a body without organs. The Bubble as a living organism, like a “Bixo” by Lygia Clark and her obsession with materialized inside-out. The Bubble protects the immunity of threatening particles, the plasticization of the organs of desire. the Bubble that surrounds 15 naked bodies as fragile the Bubble in social decomposition.
