CSSPI packs relief boxes

Cummins Sales & Service Philippines Inc (CSSPI) employees volunteered at the National Resource Operation Centre (NROC) in Pasay City, National Capital Region, as part of an Every Employee, Every Community event on 20 April.

NROC, part of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), is a government-funded food repackaging centre that supports citizens during times of need by providing food and resources.

The team’s return to NROC this year followed a successful volunteering session last June, where the team donated rice for the packages.

During their half-day at the centre, CCSPI employees assisted NROC by producing relief boxes, packaging up to 50 boxes of cereals altogether.

The activity was organised by Jowell de Asis, Project Manager –Corporate Responsibility, with assistance from Rey Barrameda, Admin & Safety Officer.

“It was a great experience and fulfilling to know our simple help can go a long way,” Jowell said.

Currently DSWD aims to repackage 8,000 boxes of relief goods a day. The majority are sent to Mindoro Island to help fishermen affected by oil spills after a ship sank in the area.
