HOW TO START A TEAM IN NORTH DAKOTA

Start A Team 1-2-3

Volunteer oPPortunItIeS Destination Imagination (DI) receives support from more than 38,000 volunteers throughout 30 countries. Their passion for the DI Challenge Program strengthens and grows our community and allows an increasing number of students to participate each year. Destination Imagination is seeking new volunteers to help equip students with the skills needed to fuel the economies of tomorrow. We are seeking support from individuals with interests in web design, marketing, fundraising, recruiting, training, social media, event coordination and more.

Here are some of the volunteer opportunities available to directly support students in your area

Team Manager

Serve as a coordinator and mentor for two to four months as a team develops a unique solution to one of six openended Challenges. Observe as they reach past their limits and experience the creative process.

Appraiser

Spend a day immersed in the celebration of teams as you provide feedback and encouragement for their creativity and innovative Challenge solutions.

Official

Support teams and Appraisers throughout the tournament to make it the best experience possible for exhibiting creativity.

“DI is the ride of a lifetime. It’s building social skills while building engineering miracles. It’s working on teamwork while working on math skills. It’s discovering your voice while discovering ancient civilizations. DI makes your mind strong from learning, your heart big from caring, and your knees weak from laughing.” – Becky Garrett, Washington “Destination Imagination is the best decision that your family could make. It is a positive, inventive, resourceful program and will enrich all of your lives.” – Sherry Conarton Haueter, Michigan

“Volunteer for driving, supply snacks, and help with programs and fundraising, but then sit back and watch what your child can do. Once your child understands what DI is about, he or she will never say “I can’t” or “it will never work” ever again. Your children will accomplish whatever they want because they will have learned how to turn failures into success, turn common into extraordinary, and turn the impossible into incredible.” – Dean Fenenga, South Dakota
