We Can’t Wait To See You At PG Live 2016! The final few weeks leading up to PG Live are always an exciting time for us, and with the eighth show firmly in our sights we’re already looking forward to opening the doors to the largest ever collection of greeting card publishers on Tuesday 10 May. We are in the very privileged position of seeing the huge amounts of preparation that goes into each and every stand as our eclectic mix of exhibitors bring their fabulously creative designs and collections to life. We thought it was tricky organising the show, but seeing how hard they’ve been working to bring you their fantastic products puts that into perspective! Trying to capture the sense of excitement and anticipation that is going on behind the scenes right now is almost impossible, but because of all that hard work, it’s fair to say that anticipation is mounting and so we’ll do our absolute best to make sure your visit is as easy and enjoyable as possible. We are delighted to able to serve you with a delicious, two-course lunch, free refreshments throughout the day (courtesy of those famous circulating tea trolleys!), a jam-packed catalogue and gorgeous tote bag to carry all those free samples in. Tuesday night’s post-show free drinks party also offers the chance for some serious industry networking – so make sure you plan to stick around! Most importantly, we want you to enjoy yourselves, to explore as many of our exhibitors as you possibly can, to uncover some fab new products and – of course – place plenty of great orders! We have always made sure PG Live offers visitors two fun-filled days of focused trend spotting and buying and this year will be no different. With fabulous public transport links, travelling to the Business Design Centre couldn’t be simpler. Angel Undergound station is just five minutes walk away, and can be reached in a matter of minutes from both Euston and King’s Cross (take the Northern Line), while Liverpool Street and Waterloo are just a short journey away. We recommend travelling to the show by public transport, but if you can’t avoid driving, there are 200 spaces in the car park alongside the Business Design Centre and limited additional capacity in the surrounding area. Graphic designer and illustrator Lucy Player is bringing her Hoppy Bunnies to PG Live for the very first time, so if you’re after something new, come say hello. Printed in the UK and hand-painted in watercolour by artist Sarah Borg, her ability as a fine art portrait painter underpins a humorous take on animalthemed greeting cards. Our inspiration is a love of all things spiritual. We have a Philosophy, Poetry and Proverbs Collection, which has real gravitas. The Finishing Touches We don’t just have the best exhibitor line-up in town, PG Live is also renowned for being one of the friendliest shows around. The great atmosphere and fab extra touches help to make sure that everyone has the most successful show possible – while having lots of fun, of course! Everyone at the show – both visitors and exhibitors – will be able to enjoy free drinks and a delicious two-course lunch, ensuring energy levels stay topped up throughtout the day. Full use of the Henry Cole Buyer’s Lounge (complete with Wifi, thanks to Skylight Media) and a free drinks party on the Tuesday night (thanks to Carte Blanche) ensure that there’s plenty of opportunity to socialise as well.

On arrival at the BDC, visitors will be greeted by our wonderful team, all decked out in the now-famous dresses made from a selection of greeting cards donated by our exhibitors. The free goody bags they’ll be handing out (thanks UKG!) will contain a fabulous keepsake full-colour catalogue which lists each and every exhibitor. Dropping off your coat in the complimentary cloakroom will leave your hands free for browsing as you start to make your way around the show.
No queuing up for overpriced coffee here – free refreshments are available throughout the entire two-day exhibition. The famous PG Live tea trolleys circulate during the whole show, so there’s no reason to let your caffeine levels dip, while frequent water stations mean there’s no danger of dehydration.

Food For The Soul At PG Live there is such a thing as a free lunch. And a two-course one at that! Simply head to the Gallery Hall on the first floor between 1pm and 3pm for a choice of delicious hot or cold dishes or sandwiches. The lunch is available to everyone who attends PG Live, in any capacity. This year the room will be decorated by Carte Blanche as part of the 21st anniversary celebrations for their Me to You brand. I designs and make an evergrowing range of lovely things from my Lewes studio shop, helped by a small team and three trusty kilns. From my original ceramics I have built up a range including screen printed textiles and greetings cards. This new range of cards has been designed from my love of screen printing combined with my knowledge of selling cards in the store. The design focus is hand-drawing and the subject occasions. We hope you like them!

Working The Show Navigating the various sections at PG Live is as wonderfully simple as everything else. The show works over three levels at the Business Design Centre - the ground floor or ‘Village Green’, the mezzanine and the gallery. We would suggest starting at either at the top or the bottom and working the room methodically, using the free coffee points, lunch room and Henry Cole Lounge as resting points, and to top up your sugar levels! As a general guide the ground floor Village Green includes the Artists’ Quarter and Springboard Extra, the mezzanine features established publishers, and the gallery (to the right hand side of the building) plays host to Springboard and the all-important lunch room.
