NEWSLETTER MAYOR DEBORAH ROBERTSON “The purpose of my newsletter is to inform Rialto residents about the ample resources, city events, community news and much more in one place. I hope you enjoy your read.” Take A Look Inside Summer Volume| August 2022 RememberingElectionGeneral2022Info.MayorVargas
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former Mayor, Grace Vargas. She was the first Latina and female to serve the City of Rialto and continued being a light in our community for years after.

Mayor Robertson stated, “We worked as a team and she valued everyones positions and opinions. I was honored to nominate the senior center in name of her and she felt it was her one of her crowning achievements to see that center be built. It is an honor to be a former colleague to Mayor Vargas and reign after her.”

Chop your green onion, celery, shredded carrots, pepper, and pickles. Add to the bowl with your chickpeas, then add mayo, dijon, yellow mustard, dill, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat.
Drain and rinse your chickpeas and add them to a large bowl. Mash with a potato masher until texture appears flaked, almost like tuna salad. I use both a potato masher and follow up with a fork to make sure every chickpea is deliciously smashed. You could also use a food processor and skip the arm workout!
