4-UNIT DWELLING PROGRAM >> Housing SITE >> South Pasadena, CA In response to the site conditions I close off West facade, and provide the residents with alternatives to West view by having large internal courtyard, as well as organized private and public open space. The building is raised up on pilloti, leaving the ground floor for service and community area, pirvate and public green space. Raising the structure above ground also allows for cross ventilation and cooling. The structure is wrapped around by a system of louver that varries in density to control the amount of sunlight and view let in. Vertical louvers are placed on West and East facades, whil horizontal ones are place on North and South facades.
