Computing skills are vital for Britain’s economic future, with the Tees Valley being a hotbed for digital tech innovation. Employers are looking to recruit apprentices to grow their workforce.

LEVEL 3 DIGITAL MARKETER

Length: 18 months

Occupational Overview The primary role of a digital marketer is to define, design, build and implement digital campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms to drive customer acquisition, customer engagement and customer retention.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 4 (C) or above). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements, then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance.

Progression This apprenticeship is recognised for entry on to the Register of IT Technicians and those completing their apprenticeships are eligible to apply for registration. On completion, apprentices can move onto the Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship. LEVEL 3 DIGITAL SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Length: 15 months

Occupational Overview The broad purpose of a digital support technician is to maximise the effective use of digital office technologies, productivity software, and digital communications, including collaborative technologies, and digital information systems to achieve objectives.

Entry Requirements Individual employers will set the selection criteria including relevant qualifications and experience. Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression Upon completion of this apprenticeship you could progress to a higher level apprenticeship in the industry or move into full time job role such as a Operations Technical Specialist or Digital Service Advisor.

LEVEL 3 INFORMATION COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN

Length: 18 months (+3 month EPA)

Occupational Overview As an Information Communications Technician (ICT) the apprentice will learn how to provide support to internal and/ or external customers, by using tools or systems to problem solve and trouble-shoot routine and non-routine problems.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression On completion, apprentices can move onto the Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship.

LEVEL 3 MARKETING ASSISTANT

Length: 18 months (+3 month EPA)

Occupational Overview The broad purpose of the occupation is to support customer focussed marketing activities that drive the demand for a product or service through awareness raising and/or perception building to generate results to the bottom line.

As part of the marketing team the marketing assistant will contribute to the implementation of the marketing strategy and plans. They will be responsible for delivering day-to-day marketing activities across a multitude of platforms, channels and systems that are essential to the marketing function and activities of the company.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression Upon completion of this apprenticeship you could progress to the Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship. LEVEL 3 DATA TECHNICIAN

24 months (+3 month EPA)

Occupational Overview As a Data Technician the apprentice would source, format and present data securely in a relevant way for analysis using basic methods; to communicate outcomes appropriate to the audience; analyse structured and unstructured data to support business outcomes; blend data from multiple sources as directed and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment.

Progression Upon completion of this apprenticeship you could progress to a higher level apprenticeship in the industry or move into full time job role such as a Data Technician or Data Support Analyst.

LEVEL 3 NETWORK CABLE INSTALLER

15 months (+3 month EPA)

Occupational Overview As a network cable installer, the apprentice will learn how to install, terminate, test and certify network cable infrastructure components in accordance with national and international industry standards.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment.

Progression Upon completion of this apprenticeship you could progress to a higher level apprenticeship in the industry or move into full time job role such as a Network Cable Installer or Telecoms Cable Installer. LEVEL 3 SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN

Length: 15 months (+3 months EPA)

Occupational Overview The 18-month apprenticeship aims for learners to build simple applications for use in larger software developments

The topic areas covered are: • Software Development Methodologies • Programming

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C). If you do not have a grade 9 to 4 in English and / or maths (grade A-C for previous GCSE measures) you will be required to continue studying these subjects.

Progression Upon completion of this apprenticeship you could progress to the Software Developer Level 4 apprenticeship.

LEVEL 3 JUNIOR CONTENT PRODUCER

Length: 12-18 months

Occupational Overview A junior content producer (also referred to as a creative content assistant) is responsible for developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. Working to the customer/client brief, they research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement, capturing the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer they are representing.

Entry Requirements Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 4 (C) or above). Certificates will need to be produced at enrolment. If proof cannot be produced or you do not meet these entry requirements, then applicants will be invited to complete an initial assessment prior to acceptance.

Progression Junior content producers may progress into content creation/ development roles at more senior levels across the industry, including with digital agencies, broadcasters and publishers. LEVEL 4 NETWORK ENGINEER

Length: 24 months

Occupational Overview The primary role of a network engineer is to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. Network engineers need to maintain high levels of operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers.

Entry Requirements Applicants will need A Levels, a relevant Level 3 apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills. Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians confirming SFIA Level 3 professional competence and those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration.

LEVEL 4 MARKETING EXECUTIVE

Length: 15-21 months

Occupational Overview Marketing is vitally important to all businesses providing the insight to develop and deliver new products and services to meet ever-changing customer needs. It is the process of researching, developing, promoting and distributing, products or services through effective channels to engage with a range of target audiences.

Entry Requirements Applicants will need A Levels, a relevant Level 3 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications. Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression This apprenticeship is designed to meet the requirements for registration as an affiliate member with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). LEVEL 4 SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Length: 24 months

Occupational Overview The primary role of a software developer is to build and test simple, high-quality code across front end, logic and database layers. A developer will typically be working as part of a larger team, in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall project.

Entry Requirements Applicants will need A Levels, a relevant Level 3 apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills. Applicants are required to have gained a Level 2 English and maths (GCSE Grades 9-4 / A-C).

Progression This apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians confirming SFIA Level 3 professional competence and those completing the apprenticeship are eligible to apply for registration.
