LEVEL 3 DENTAL NURSING

Length: 18-21 months

Occupational Overview The dental nurse role complements the role of other dental professionals. One of the primary roles is to provide chair side support to dental professionals and deliver a high level of patient care.

Entry Requirements You must have achieved GCSE English and maths at Grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2. Individual employers may also set their own entry requirements.

Progression On completion of this apprenticeship the apprentice can register with the general dental council as a qualified dental nurse. Career progression opportunities include roles as a dental hygienist, dentist, general nurse or dental tutor. LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT

Length: 18-21 months

Occupational Overview Teaching assistants work in Primary, Special and Secondary education across all age ranges encompassing special educational needs and emotional vulnerabilities. The primary role of the teaching assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.

Entry Requirements You must have achieved GCSE English and maths at Grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2. Individual employers may also set their own entry requirements.

Progression As well as ensuring full competency as a teaching assistant, this standard provides a foundation for potential progression into a number of career paths in the educational sector including higher level teaching assistant, assistant teacher and teacher.

LEVEL 4 CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILY PRACTITIONER

Length: 18-21 months

Occupational Overview This role could see you working in a number of settings which include a children’s home, a residential specialist school or a secure children’s home. The children might be living on their own or in a larger group. The practitioner will be responsible for taking the lead in developing and delivering the child’s placement plan and will work with the child to support their health, education, social and day to day needs, playing a significant role in helping them to thrive and fulfil their potential.

Progression Apprentices could progress onto the Level 5 Residential Care Manager apprenticeship. LEVEL 5 CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLES AND FAMILY MANAGER

Length: 24-27 months

Occupational Overview The role of children, young people and family manager is to ensure the direction, alignment and commitment of their own practice. They will be required to build and direct teams, manage resources and lead new approaches to working practices that deliver improved outcomes and put the child, young person or family at the centre of practice.

Progression This apprenticeship may lead to may lead to more specialist occupations through further training or higher level study.
