TAAF TEAM PROGRAMS
McAllen Parks & Recreation is proud to offer Texas Amateur Athletics Federation (T.A.A.F.) programs. Young athletes will compete against other individuals and teams from across the Rio Grande Valley and the state in carious sporting events including track & field, golf, and tennis. Teams will attend local tournaments and meets, earning the opportunity to compete at the regional level. Qualifying athletes will earn a chance to compete in the state Games of Texas, a week long Olympic style competition featuring a variety of sports. Experienced athletes are invited to join Team McAllen. A complete schedule of meets and competitions will be provided once classes begin. Individual T.A.A.F. membership is included in the class fee. Other fees including individual meets fees are the responsibility of the participant.
YOUTH & ADULT ACTIVITIES McAllen Track Club
Come and join TAAF Team McAllen this summer. Local TAAF track & field meets and practices will be scheduled throughout the summer. Participants who qualify for advanced competition are responsible for their own travel expenses. No classes during the week of July 4 - July 8. Registration includes TAAF membership, insurance, and a t - shirt. (Does not include individual meet entry fees that each athlete must pay prior to competition.) Participants must be registered by June 15th, 2022 if they want to compete in the TAAF Games of Texas Tournament. Registration: May 2 - May 13 Dates: Monday - Friday | May 16 - May 27 (first two weeks) Location: McAllen Sports Park - Northside Complex - Field 1 - 3 Time: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM | 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Age: 5 - 18 years Resident Fee: $60 | Non - Resident Fee: $78

TAAF Summer Golf Team
Team Golf is for the experienced golfers (ages 7 - 18 years) who want to improve their game play while working towards regional and state competition within Region 2 of the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. A playing test for new team members will be required before joining the team. Testing will be scheduled on Monday, June 6th. Collared shirt and tennis shoes are required on the course. TAAF Summer Tennis Team
Classes are aimed at introducing the beginner player to a fun - filled court action set up that helps prepare the player for match play. This program will provide instruction in forehand, backhand and serving. No classes from June 27-July 4.
