September 2022
The 2022 Snipe World Championship was an event to remember. Not only was it the largest Snipe World Championship in history with 87 teams representing 17 nations and 4 continents, but Cascais, Portugal did not disappoint and served up amazing conditions.
The Snipe Class continues to prove to be a competitive one design Class lasting over 90 years as one Class for all. Masters, seniors, juniors and many mixed teams were among the competitors who showed up to vie for the Hub E. Isaacs World Championship trophy with names engraved back to 1934.
Club Naval de Cascais proved to be a worthy host, providing excellent regatta organization on and off the water while the competitors stayed true to the Snipe Class motto, “Serious Sailing, Serious Fun.” Fun after racing social parties with sailors reconnecting after a global pandemic was much needed while the competition on the water came down to the last race of who would win the regatta.

Congratulations to 2022 Snipe World Champions Alfredo Gonzalez and Cristian Sanchez of Spain!
