MCCI and ASAN Memorial College of Arts & Science jointly organized the webinar on Stress Management to students on 4th June 2020 (Virtual webinar). Ms. K. Saraswathi, Secretary General, MCCI welcomed the par�cipants. Dr. S. Ramanathan, Principal of Asan College and Co Chairman of MCCI Educa�onal and Skill Expert Commi�ee introduced the resource person. Ms. Saras Bhasker, Counseling Psychologist & Coach thanked MCCI and ASAN Memorial College for invi�ng her as a speaker. Ms Saras Bhasker made a detailed presenta�on addressing students’ issues., especially during the pandemic. The topics covered were general causes of stress in students, specific causes in the current scenario, Students Laundry list and Bio psychosocial Models. A�er the session, Dr. M. Jaya, Associate Professor, ASAN Memorial College moderated the Q&A session. More than 145+ par�cipants took part in the webinar and feedback was good.

Ms. Karpagam Professor Jus�ce Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women introduced the resource person. Ms Saras Bhasker,Counseling Psychologist &Coach thanked MCCI and Jus�ce Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women for invi�ng her as a speaker and congratulated for the novel ini�a�ve. She made a very detailed presenta�on specially made for the Professors on work life balance. She covered about stress, roles that can precipitate stress, work life variable, rela�onship management and Ten Commandments to manage stress. A�er the session the Q&A the session was moderated by Ms. Sherin. More than 68+ par�cipants took part in the webinar and feedback was posi�ve.

Webinar on Climate Change Disasters and Business Preparedness The Chamber organized the Webinar on Climate Change - Disasters and Business Preparedness was organized under Sustainable Chennai Forum (SFC) /Energy Commi�ee on the occasion of World Environment Day. Ms. K. Saraswathi, Secretary General MCCI welcomed the par�cipants. She briefed about the Sustainable Chennai Forum (SFC) and MCCI connect with NIUA. She informed the webinar is planned on the occasion of World Environment day and the expert speaker Dr. Umamaheswaran Rajasekar, Chair Resilient -100-Resilient Ci�es, Na�onal Ins�tute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) will address on the climate change and its impacts. The webinar was moderated by Mr. S. Venkatachalam, Managing Director, Orient Green Power Co. Ltd.& Chairman Energy Expert Commi�ee, MCCI.
Dr. Umamaheswaran Rajasekar, Chair Resilient -100-Resilient Ci�es ,Na�onal Ins�tute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) thanked MCCI and acknowledged the associa�on of MCCI with NIUA .He made a very elaborate presenta�on on the climate changes, its impacts, the various disasters and gave live examples of what can be done to be prepared to have business con�nuity. the climate change and its impacts. His presenta�on covered the aspects of being Resilience and chronic stresses ad acute shocks. He emphasized the planning the system and taking care of the challenges is essen�al. The Objec�ve is to reorganize as a community, adap�ng to changes more flexible and responsible. Concluded with the note that Micro and Macro planning with Government, business and other state holders are essen�al for business Preparedness. Followed by his presenta�on we had Q&A session. Mr S Venkatachalam moderated the session. Webinar was widely appreciated and it was a�ended by more than 47+ par�cipants from corporate, Ins�tu�ons, consultants and researchers.

Mr K Saraswathi, Secretary General MCCI welcomed the par�cipants and briefed about the role of MCCI and informed the Indian auto sector is one of the early adopters of digi�za�on in manufacturing and it is new normal for the automo�ve manufacturers and component suppliers. Mr. S. Sarathi, Joint Managing Director Mando Automo�ve India Pvt. Ltd made a detailed presenta�on on ac�on taken towards Covid 19 Preven�on & Precau�onary measures followed in Mando Automo�ve India Pvt. Ltd. His presenta�on covered all precau�onary measures to be followed while entering the office premises. Mr. S. Subhash, Country Safety Head Wabco India Ltd and Mr. M.S Ravikumar, Head Manufacturing & Supply Chain Wabco India Ltd., made an elaborate presenta�on related to shop floor. A digital shop-floor with specific interven�ons on planning and execu�on will become the new normal was informed. The presenta�on was followed by Q&A session. Ms.K.Saraswathi, Secretary General MCCI moderated the Q&A session. The Webinar was well a�ended by more than 140+ par�cipants.
12th June 2020 Webinar on Financial Stimulus for MSMEs in the Covid Times The Chamber completed a survey with MSMEs wherein the key challenges faced by them during the Covid 19 pandemic and their views and sugges�ons on the present support schemes were analyzed and suitable recommenda�ons and workable sugges�ons were submi�ed to the State Government for their considera�on and necessary ac�on. With this background, Chamber under the auspices of Manufacturing Expert Commi�ee organized the Webinar on “The Financial S�mulus for MSMEs in the Covid Times on Friday, 12th June between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm to enable the MSMEs to become aware of the the different financial measures announced by the Government. Ms K Sarawathi , Secretary General welcomed the resource persons and the par�cipants. Mr. S. Sarathi, Chairman of the Manufacturing commi�ee set the tone for the session.

Mr. G. Viswanathan, Prac�cing Chartered Accountant and Mr B.N.V.Parthasarathi, Ex- Senior Banker, Financial and Management Consultant were the resource persons. Mr G Viswanathan made a detailed presenta�on covering the various aspects such as the defini�on of MSMEs, contribu�on to the economy, MSME challenges, financial relief package and representa�ons to be made by Industry Mr, B.N.V.Parthasarathi, Ex- Senior Banker, Financial and Management Consultant shared his thoughts on the banker’s perspec�ve and clarified the queries in the schemes. Ms. K. Saraswathi moderated the session. There were more than 85+ SMEs across industries and the SME’s who had par�cipated in SME Survey also took part in the webinar. The feedback for the session was posi�ve.

13th June 2020 to embrace remote hiring of 2021batch university graduates Ms K Saraswathi, Secretary General gave welcome remarks. Mr.R.M.Kishore Chairman of Educa�on Commi�ee gave opening remarks. He welcomed the delegates. Mr.Rajeev Menon Director HR, Cognizant Technology Solu�on covered opportuni�es and challenges in remote hiring .He emphasized con�nuous growth and survival is essen�al in the industry . Hiring manager will have to con�nuously do the assessment and students have to cope up to the new hiring norms and demands.

Dr. Samuel Rajkumar, Director - PAT, VIT University, shared the real �me VIT’s remote placement process. How VIT framed the internship model for PG students and gained importance was shared. His session covered Training challenges, remote Hiring hiccups, students counselling aspects and remote hiring placement process. Mr. Senthilkumar, Founder, Examly made a detailed presenta�on on Technology Tools for Remote Hiring and also suggested the way forward assessing mechanisms. He highlighted the present assessment methods and its challenges. He suggested that the hiring process has to be a larger engagement process and to gamify the selec�on process. Mr. Madhu Raghunath, Group Head – Human Resources and Organiza�onal Capability and the Chief Opera�ng Officer made a detailed presenta�on on the Innova�ve Hiring Solu�ons. He emphasized on iden�fying the new ways of engagement process and students should be on ac�ve prac�ce from day one in the college for building the skill sets. Students have to adapt to new ways of hiring and organiza�ons have to do branding work for all 12 months. Followed by the speaker’s session we had Q&A, Ms Vandhana Sundaram from Cognizant Technologiy Solu�ons and a member of educa�on commi�ee moderated the Q&A session. More than 225+ Par�cipants a�ended the webinar. We had a mixed group of par�cipants from industries, colleges /Ins�tu�ons, Educa�onal consultants, Students and other members of MCCI.

MCCI Certificate course on EXIM Trade
Under the auspices of Logisitcs commi�ee, a flag ship cer�ficate course on EXIM Trade was organised. ThIs cer�ficate course was organised in two parts.In the first module, basic course of EXIM trade was taught followed by the advanced course in the second module . Basic Course was scheduled from 15th June -19th June 2020 for 90 minutes between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm. The advanced module course was scheduled from 22nd June -26th june 2020 for 90 minutes between 3.00 pm and 4.30 pm. The objec�ve of this course was to acquaint the par�cipants with the basics of the export and import trade followed by an advance course to enable persons to progress to the next level in their employment. Welcome address & Context se�ng was done by Mr. U. Udayabhaskar Reddy, Chairman of the Logis�cs Commi�ee. Mr.Ashwin Vijayakumar, Co-chairman of Logis�cs Commi�ee introduced the Chief Guest, Mr.Varun Singh, Dy Director, Office of the DGFT, Chennai.

He shared various schemes related to duty free exports,import incen�ves , MES ,Service imports and duty credit offered to promote exports /imports. Prof. N. Sridhar Chairman of the HR/IR Commi�ee introduced the speakers to the par�cipants. Dr. R. Krishna Murthy, Director, Industrial Rela�ons Ins�tute of India made a detailed presenta�on covering various acts like Na�onal Disaster Management Act, 2005, Overriding Effect Clause, legal Challenge to Lockdown and Supreme Court Orders and Post Covid-19 resump�on. Mr S N Murthy, Senior Advocate, Bengaluru shared his candid thoughts and informed good industrial rela�ons is required and laws are not going to repair the losses. Laws for contract labors and migrant labors need revamping and this is the right opportunity for legal reforms. He concluded that we have to work in solving the problems than giving only legal solu�ons and the social situa�on demand partnership work. Mr. Michael Dias, Senior Advocate, New Delhi shared his thoughts on contractual terms. He stated that Covid 19 is totally a new scenario, both employer and employee need to have a clear communica�on and employer has to hear the employee grievance and organiza�on culture should open up for the transparent talks. Both the par�es have to have a sense of compassion to resolve the issues. More crucial is future of the industry and trade. What business is going to do for the con�nuity is essen�al. Mr. Srinageshwar, Group Vice President Industrial Rela�ons, Simpson Group of Companies covered the Industry perspec�ve. MSME and Industries are not doing well and more so in case of automobile sector. Even in larger industry revenues are shirking and how to overcome the situa�on is essen�al. The Lockdown and the uncertainty have created concerns for both HR /IR professional. Supreme court order had opened up to more li�ga�on. Trust /understanding between both the par�es during this pandemic situa�on and enabling government order will help. Dr. R. Krishna Murthy, Director- Industrial Rela�ons Ins�tute of India moderated the Q&A session. We had more than 44 Par�cipants who the a�ended the webinar and gave a posi�ve feedback.

Mr. Raja M. Shanmugam, President, TEA gave the Exporters Perspec�ve. Tiruppur garment exports cater the need of western market. It is a dynamic market; Change is inevitable in this market. Tiruppur cluster is created by hard work and today many exporters are aware of the current situa�on. This session will help us to understand the procedural aspects and also to help us to take steps to safe guard ourselves. Mr. J. 28th June 2020 Certificate Course – HCFM This is a joint program with Kauvery Hospitals on Financial Management for Medical Professionals. We have completed one virtual session through zoom on 28th June 2020 on Healthcare management Systems – IT & MIS. The Session was handled by Dr. Rama Subramaniam, Director and CEO, Valiant Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Co-Chariman of IT / ITES Commi�ee. The Governing Council agreed to expand the council with more experts and few names were also deliberated upon. The rules and regula�ons, especially for NBFCs and the infrastructure facili�es for se�ng up an exclusive centre will be finalized shortly
