Contest Runs June 16 – August 22. Submit Busy Bucks Aug 26-30 at the Youth & Teen Center. Age Categories: 5 & under, 6-9, 10-12 and 13-18 still in high school. Only SOFA status dependents are eligible for prizes. Grand Prize winners announced at the BGCA Day for Kids on September 20.
Paws to Read Dress up Party June 18, 3-4 PM Dress up as your favorite animal and learn all about our Summer Reading Program. Pick up your welcome packets.
Toodlers and Tunes July and August WEDNESDAYS, 10:30-11:30 AM A fun interactive play group that includes music and movement for both parent and child (birth - 2 years.) Call Aquatics one week prior to registration and show up early the day of. Spots fill up quickly! We offer morning and evening classes. The lessons are for children ages 6 months and up and the cost is $30 per student. For more information please call the Aquatics Office at 253-4966.

Any child purchasing a kids meal or combo value meal from any restaurant in the Crossroads Food Court or Strike Zone Food Court will be given one Busy Buck for their purchase.

Triple Play Healthy Habits Every Wednesdays, 4-4:45 PM Healthy Habits is designed to teach youth the benefits of healthy habits by eating right and being physically active. Youth will learn to adopt healthier habits through fun and engaging activities. With encouragement, participants will start to make positive changes in their personal health choices. Lessons include information on Kid’s Food Pyramid, fluids, cooking and your body. Career Launch Training July, Every Wednesday, 6 PM August, Every Wednesday, 5 PM This program helps teens explore different career paths. This free program is offered monthly to any interested teens.

KIDS STAYING BUSY! Photography Club Every Thursday in July, 6 PM
Passport to Manhood Meeting June 27, July 18 & August 15, 3–4:30 PM
This program teaches basic photography skills. Teens do not need to own a camera to participate. Program is free.
Come out and address issues designed for young men ages 10-15. Passport addresses such issues as decision-making, wellness, cooperation and conflict. There will be food, plenty of fun and good friends. No registration is required and there is no fee.
DJ Club (Summer Schedule) August 2 & 16, 5 PM Do you want to be your own boss? Do you love listening to music? The Youth & Teen staff will teach you the basic criteria. Program is FREE. Summer Reading Program Every Monday & Wednesday; 9 AM – Noon June 16 - August 13 This Summer Reading Program is offered to youth 10-12 years old to ensure that youth maintain the reading skills acquired during the school year. We request that parents sign an agreement form and help monitor their child’s reading. Snacks will be provided. Summer Math Program Every Tuesday & Thursday; 9 AM – Noon June 17 – August 14 This Summer Math Program is offered to youth 10–12 years old to ensure that youth maintain the Math skills acquired during the school year. Torch Club Meeting June 18, 1–2 PM July 9,16 & 23, Noon – 1 PM August 6, 13 & 21, Noon – 1 PM This club is for boys and girls ages 10-12 years and is geared to youth working on activities in four core areas: service to club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation. Youth will plan and initiate ideas for trips, events and activities. What kinds of things would you like to do? Let’s get together, gather ideas and make our youth program better than ever.
Fire Cracker Dance Party July 3 10-12 years old, 6-8:30 PM 13-18 years old, 8:45-11:15 PM Join the fun! Come Celebrate Independence Day with us at the Youth & Teen Center. There will be refreshments, prizes and a chance to vote for the best dancers. Washuzan Highland Park Trip July 11, 8 AM – 8:30 PM Explore a Brazilian carnival-themed amusement park on a mountain top. There’s a roller coaster and a large swimming pool with slides. There are 35 spaces available for youth 10-18 years old. First come, first served sign up ends Wednesday, July 11. Admission: ¥2,000 for 12 years old and below, ¥2,500 for 13 years old and above. Youth & Teens Space World Trip July 25, 8 AM - 8:30 PM Youth & Teen Center will host a trip to Space World Amusement park in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. Enjoy a world class roller coaster and other attractions for a fascinating space experience. There are 35 spaces available to youth 10-18 years old. First come, first served sign up ends Thursday, July 25. Admission: ¥3,150 for 11 years old and below, ¥4,200 for 12 years old and above.
YOUTH SPORTS (253-3239) Youth Sports Summer Camps Basketball Camp June 24-26 (Registration June 2-22) Flag Football Camp July 1-3 (Registration June 2-29) Bowling Camp July 8-10 (Registration June 2 – July 6) Baseball Camp July 15-17 (Registration June 2 – July 15) Campers will have the opportunity to develop fundamental skills, improve their physical fitness, work with a team and gain a healthy appreciation for each sport. Campers will play with knowledgeable coaches and receive a camp giveaway. Camps are open to SOFA status personnel ages 7-15. There is a $25 registration fee per child per camp. Call the Youth Sports office for details. Southern California Seahorse Soccer Camp July 22-24, 8:30-11:30 AM (Registration June 2 – July 20) Campers can develop fundamental soccer skills, improve their physical fitness, work with a team and gain a healthy appreciation for the sport of soccer. Each day will include individual skills instruction Camp includes t-shirts, a camper-vs.-counselor game and celebration of the week’s accomplishments, photos and Subway® sandwiches! Soccer camp is open to SOFA and non-SOFA status personnel ages 7-15. There is a 30 minute optional Bible study following each session. Please call the Youth Sports office for details.
SMART Girls Meeting 10–12 years old, June 19, July 10 & August 6: Noon – 1PM 13–15 years old, June 19, July 17 & August 7; 5–6 PM 16–18 years old, June 20, July 24 & August 15; 5–6 PM Smart Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/ education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls 10-18. Field trips and mentoring opportunities are planned with mothers and adult female staff. Monthly Birthday Party June 27, July 18 & August 15, 3–4:30 PM Come celebrate your birthday with cake and ice cream for everyone as we honor our members born in June. Open to all youth ages 10–18 (youth age 18 must be enrolled in High School).
