Stress is a normal part of everyday life. And for us military spouses, it seems all too normal. Learn basic stress management concepts and skills to navigate your way through stresses of the military lifestyle.

Family Care Plan JANUARY 7, 11:3 0 AM – 12:3 0 PM, YUJO HALL

The Marine Corps has a document which enables the Marine to select individuals who would care for his/ her dependents in their absence. Learn what a Family Care Plan is and how you and your Marine can ensure all family members are taken care of.

Interpersonal Communications JANUARY 7, 2– 4 PM, YUJO HALL

Have you ever been puzzled by someone’s reaction to your communication with them? Why did they become so defensive? Communication is so much more than what we say. This class offers a wonderful opportunity to better understand people and improve the effectiveness of your communication.

Learn about your responsibilities as a sponsor, as well as, the things you can do to assist personnel relocating to MCAS Iwakuni.

Are you a Japanese spouse looking for an opportunity to improve your communication skills while practicing your English? Well, this interactive and fun class is for you! Deployment Awareness Brief JANUARY 16, 1-2 PM, YUJO HALL

Family Readiness is about being prepared to deal with the challenges of the military lifestyle, which must include deployments and unit exercises. This one hour brief will provide valuable insight into the deployment support provided by MCFTB. Learn more about getting in front of things with a Pre-deployment brief; classes offered to help you cope with the stressors associated with separation; and how to deal with family reintegration difficulties that may arise after deployment.

Command Team Advisor/Family Readiness Assistant Training JANUARY 21, 8 AM- NOON, YUJO HALL

This training is designed for those who have an interest in becoming Family Readiness Assistants or Command Team Advisors of their unit. This covers all aspects of the Unit, Personal and Family Readiness Program to include roles and responsibilities, expectations, official communication, use of contact rosters, local resources and so much more! If interested in becoming an assistant or advisor please contact your FRO for more information about attending this class.

PII and OPSEC Training JANUARY 21, 1:3 0-2:3 0 PM, YUJO HALL

This training is designed for those interested in becoming Family Readiness Assistants or Command Team Advisors of their unit. This class will orient and guide volunteers in their responsibilities to protect personally identifiable information (PII) and adhere to operational security protocols within and outside of their unit.

Conflict Management JANUARY 2 2, 9-11 AM, YUJO HALL

Research shows that unresolved conflict can lead to aggression. This workshop addresses interpersonal conflict and is designed to help participants become more aware of conflict; empowering them to make healthy choices by managing their responses to conflict. It provides tools for addressing and managing conflict on an everyday basis.

Calling all volunteers who lend their time and talents to MCAS Iwakuni! Join MCFTB as you gain the necessary tools to have a successful and fulfilling volunteer career. You will learn about the impact of your volunteering, effective communication skills as a volunteer, how to manage your volunteer career, tracking and maintaining your personal volunteer records and tips for using volunteer time to pursue paid professional opportunities.

L.I.N.K.S. Mentor Development Training JANUARY 2 2, 1:3 0 – 3:3 0 PM, YUJO HALL

This workshop is a great opportunity for all L.I.N.K.S. Mentors to gain more knowledge and skills about the L.I.N.K.S. curriculums. Understanding each section in depth will help your presentation at L.I.N.K.S. classes. If you are not a L.I.N.K.S. Based on the NY Times #1 Bestseller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People this is a dynamic training for developing personal and professional effectiveness. Seating is limited to the first 25 participants. Deadline to register is January 21. Upon completion of the 3-day training, participants are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEU’s).
