Exceptional family member program Bowling with EFMP 9 December | 1700-1830 MCAS Beaufort Bowling Center
What is the Exceptional Family Member Program? by Jeanette Smith The Exceptional Family Member Program or EFMP is a mandatory U.S. Department of Defense enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical and personnel services worldwide to U.S. military families with special needs.
Fun for the whole family! Bowl for $1.00 per person, per game and also receive $1.00 shoe rentals per person. We wish to make this event accessible to persons of all abilities. If you need accommodations in order to fully participate in this event, please contact us. Please RSVP three days in advance for event planning purposes. RSVP by contacting Jeanette Smith at 228-3849 or Eric Harding at hardingej@ usmc-mccs.org or 228-7106.
Service members on active duty enroll in this program when they have an Exceptional Family Member (EFM) with a physical, developmental or emotional diagnosis requiring specialized services to meet the needs of their EFM. EFMP helps connect each family with the needed services and resources at their current command and during the military personnel assignment process.
EFMP 101 10 December | 0900-1000 Bldg. 652, West Laurel Bay Blvd. Laurel Bay Housing Area
Service members must enroll in the program once they are aware that their EFM meets eligibility criteria per MCO 1754.4B. Service members are responsible for keeping their EFMP enrollment current as the EFM’s conditions change or at least every three years, whichever comes first.
All families with special health and/or education needs and professionals who provide support to exceptional military families are invited to learn about the basics of EFMP. This training focuses on the enrollment process, respite care information, EFMP’s continuous support services and much more! If you need accommodations in order to fully participate in this event, please contact us. Please RSVP three days prior to the events by contacting Jeanette Smith at 2283849. Additional information is required from attendees without a DOD decal.
EFMP is a family centered program that values a climate of respect, trust and understanding that each family is unique and has the right to receive equal care. EFMP’s service philosophy seeks to empower families, build on their strengths and provide them with information to enable them to make well informed decisions. A well trained and empowered sponsor is the most effective advocate for their EFM. For more information visit our EFMP Web Site at: mccs.sc.com/efmp/index.html or call our Training, Education & Outreach Specialist, Jeanette Smith, at (843) 228-3849 to find out more about services and resources that are available.

PRIME For Life® is a risk reduction program. The first goal of the program is to help each Marine in the program reduce their risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem. The second goal focuses on self-assessment to help Marines understand and accept the need to make changes to protect the things most valuable in their lives. The program is open to all Marines. PFL 4.5 is a universal prevention program and is not an appropriate substitute for a SAC referral for Marines who have had an ARI or who may be chemically dependent.
Married and Loving It!® is a series of five classes designed to teach participants how to enjoy sharing their lives with each other by enhancing their marriage. The classes center on communication skills, family finances, anger management, conflict resolution, decision-making, and in-laws. We will also study characteristics of successful marriages.
