LIBRARY READING LIST Revival by Stephen King

The Job by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg

The irresistible new minister Charles Jacobs and his stunning wife make their mark on a local church in a small New England town. Charles soon forges a unique bond with a boy named Jamie Morton based on a secret obsession. When catastrophe strikes the Jacobs family, Charles curses God and is soon banished from town. Years later, Charles runs into Jamie, now a heroin addict, living a nomadic lifestyle. Their bond soon becomes a dangerous pact giving the word revival many meanings.

FBI Agent Kate O'Hare is forced to partner with a charming conman named Nicholas Fox to bring down the world’s most wanted felons. They travel all over the globe trying to bring down a drug lord but when they find themselves pitted against a psychopathic bodyguard, they enlist the special talents of a Somali pirate, a special effects artist and Kate’s father, a retired Special Forces operative. Can this unlikely team work together and live to talk about it?

Flesh and Blood by Patricia Cornwell

The Wolf in Winter by John Connolly

Dr. Kay Scarpetta's Miami birthday trip will have to wait. Seven strange pennies are found on a wall near her Cambridge house and five minutes away a high school music teacher has been mysteriously shot to death while unloading groceries. Scarpetta finds herself in pursuit of a sniper and comes face-to-face with shocking evidence leading to her niece, Lucy, her own flesh and blood.

A homeless man's death and the disappearance of his daughter send private investigator Charlie Parker to Prosperous, Maine. The town’s sheltered inhabitants take care of their own at all costs and have no qualms about shunning outsiders. But Parker is dangerous and the people of Prosperous see him as a threat. Now Parker must die. Worthy Fights: A Memoir of Leadership in War and Peace by Leon Panetta with Jim Newton

Seventh Grave and No Body by Darynda Jones As 12 beasts spring from Hell to wreak havoc on the living, Grim Reaper Charley Davidson deals with her missing father, an ex-BFF haunting her day and night and a string of unanswered suicides. She gets a pet in an attempt to master life as the responsible adult she swore she would become.

After a career in Congress, Panetta served as director of the OMB (1993-94) and as President Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff (1994-97). Then, after what only looked like retirement, he returned to government service as CIA Director (2009-11). In the wake of bin Laden’s death, he served as Secretary of Defense (2011-13). Worthy Fights is more than a memoir, but an overview of key historical events and the conduct of the U.S. government in the past decades.

Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult On the night one of the caretakers at a New Hampshire elephant sanctuary was killed, Jenna's mother, Alice, was found unconscious nearby. Hours later, Alice checked herself out of the hospital and disappeared, leaving her 3-year-old daughter behind. Now, 10 years later, the precocious 13-year-old wants answers to the mysteries of her mother's whereabouts. Desperate to learn the truth, Jenna enlists the aid of Virgil, the jaded detective who handled the initial investigation, and Serenity, a once-famous but now infamous TV psychic.

HOLIDAYS AT THE LIBRARY December was a very busy month for the libraries! Santa provided a mailbox so letters could be boxed up and sent to the North Pole for delivery. Did anyone get a letter from Santa? On 10 and 11 December, Santa visited the MCRD Parris Island Library and the MCAS Beaufort Library.
