MARCH IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH
EAT RIGHT, YOUR WAY, EVERY DAY
RETHINK YOUR DRINK Before picking up that can of soda or energy drink, think about replacing it with something your body needs, like water, milk or 100% fruit juice!
RIGHT SIZE YOUR PORTIONS When it comes to portion sizes, bigger is not always better!
TAME THE TUBE By turning off the tv, you can decrease your child's risk for becoming overweight, and spend more "quality time" together as a family.
MOVE MORE EVERYDAY Getting enough physical activity can be achieved by simply moving your body.
EAT MORE HEALTHY MEALS AT HOME
Eating Smart at home is not as hard as you think - it can even save you time and money!
EAT MORE FRUITS & VEGETABLES
Work on making colorful fruits and vegetables a substantial part of your diet every day.

Love Loss and What I Wore Beaufort Theatre Company 8 - 10 March Written by Nora and Delia Ephron and based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, the show is a scrapbook of stories about unfortunate prom dresses, the traumatic lighting in fitting rooms, high heels, short skirts and the existential state of having nothing to wear. Accessorizing these tales — which are mostly comic but often sad or sentimental too — are the mothers who disapprove, the men who disappear, the sisters who’ve got your back. Directed by Gail Westerfield.

DID YOU KNOW? MOST UNDER-USED BENEFIT OF EDUCATION PROGRAMS Apprenticeship Programs. If you complete an apprenticeship program in the same field as your current job, you increase your odds of getting a job in that field after your time in the Marine Corps. You are also more likely to start that job with higher pay. The United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) partners with the Department of Labor (DOL). It is the DOL who issues you a certificate of journeyman status! For more information, please contact your education office. The MCAS Beaufort Education Office is located on the corner of Geiger Blvd (Main road) and Elrod St (across from MCX gas pumps) Bldg 596 in Rm 211 on the second deck of (Training/Education/Library). Their telephone number is 843-228-7421. The MCRD/ERR Parris Island Education Office is located on Chosen Reservoir Road (behind 4th Bn), Bldg 923, Rm 42. Their telephone number is 843-228-2152.
SUBMIT YOUR TUITION ASSISTANCE APPLICATION VIA INTERNET Web-based military tuition assistance (TA) applications will save time and reduce running around for our Marines. (Marines: Fill out your TA applications from your work centers via an on-line portal, which will then notify command designated officers to review and endorse the applications (also online) which will then notify the education office personnel to process the TA, all without your having to leave work.) Please bear with us as we work through the hiccups of a completely new process. First time TA users will still need to complete College 101 and initial counseling. While this new system will not reduce our requirements for processing and counseling (not to mention testing, giving classes, briefs, etc), it will save Marine working hours and streamline the process at the units. Contact your Education Office for process directions. MCAS Beaufort: Bldg 596, Rm 211, 228-7484. MCRD/ERR Parris Island: Bldg 923, Rm 42, 228-2152. YOUR GRADUATION EVENT Sign up today!
