The Heritage Collection
The 2023 McGaw Graphics Heritage Collection includes nearly 200 images that illustrate what is cherished and handed down from the past, and those simple, familiar things that we treasure.
In this collection, “heritage” is represented by the simple pleasures of small town life. We curated artworks that best capture historic scenes and portraits, weathered barns, cozy homesteads, and families creating precious memories.
The Heritage Collection celebrates the best of the past: home, family, community, and tradition. These heartwarming images provide an escape from the stresses of modern life through picturesque rural landscapes and uplifting figurative images. Throughout this collection, slow living is prioritized over a fast-paced life, and screen time is replaced by time spent surrounded by family and nature.
With over 120 brand new images, this collection proudly introduces the work of 7 new artists: Mark Arian , Derk Hansen , Michael Iacobellis , Krista Mosakowski , Tom Sierak , Wayne Stadler, and Fred Swan .
This collection is a sampling of imagery we have available in this genre. Visit mcgawgraphics.com to view additional works by included artists and our entire print collection.

Introducing: Mark Arian
American born master artist Mark Arian first became aware of the transcendent power of art at age 14 while viewing an original Rembrandt painting. At age twenty-one he made a commitment to live the spiritual life of a monk and for the next eighteen years his artistic endeavors were nurtured by his spiritual order, as he was given abundant opportunities for advanced study and worldwide travel while devoting many hours a day to painting. His original oil paintings and drawings, which the artist refers to as Poetic Realism, are the product of heartfelt passion, and more than fifty years of study and observation.

Introducing: Tom Sierak
“Painting tomorrow’s memories today” is how Tom Sierak likes to describe his pastel paintings. He says, “I try to convey a message of warmth and emotion, and hope these portraits of American life eventually become the viewer’s window to the past.” The New Englander’s medium of choice is pastels. A Graduate of the Vesper George School in Boston, Tom’s work is published worldwide and has appeared on numerous covers of magazines and many other publications.

Places and things may change around us, but that special bond that exists between children, parents, grandparents and even pets, never does.”

Fred Swan’s love of the rural American countryside is evident in the simple and serene paintings he creates. Residing in a small Vermont town, Fred is inspired daily by the wild and rustic beauty that surrounds him. Whether it is the warm glowing windows of a winter home, a delicate maple leaf, or a sea of dandelions in a spring meadow, Fred Swan paints each detail with a patient hand and an eye for realism that few artists possess. In Fred’s paintings you can almost smell the sweet roses of his cottage gardens, hear the crackle of fallen leaves, and taste the hot cocoa awaiting his homeward bound winter skiers.

Artist Derk Hansen has managed to stay elusive to the public and the mainstream art world. A cattle drive, working young horses in the round pen or hanging out with his cowboy friends playing his guitar, is more his style. Hansen is an adventurer and a dreamer, always off on some new adventure, looking for subjects and places to paint. He shares his experiences with us through his artwork, so vividly, that we feel that we are there too. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work as an artist and a humanitarian, but Hansen will say “Those are only things you set on a shelf or decorate your walls with. What counts is that people like your work and it will give them a good feeling looking at what you created as an artist. That, my friend, is the greatest reward any man can get.”

Wayne Stadler, originally from Vancouver and Calgary, Canada, is a nostalgic photographer on an endless North American road trip in search of untold stories from the past. Through his lens, he brings forgotten tales to life, blending sorrowful narratives with triumphant journeys. Stadler briefly connects with his subjects, capturing their enduring beauty. While landscapes inspire him, he embraces the illusion of being the first witness to nature’s splendor, allowing his imagination to create unique visual narratives.

Introducing: Krista Mosakowski
Photographer Krista Mosakowski traveled from the East Coast to Arizona in 2017 to pursue an automotive career. After meeting her husband, she was able to fully dive into her creative passions. In addition to her photography, Mosakowski enjoys hiking, painting and cooking. While still photographing landscapes and cacti in her down time, most of her days are filled with caring for her new family members, a rescued horse and mule.

“I have lived in the mountains and the desert. There the landscape exposed itself to me. The Midwest is different. The landscape has to be found. Once I took the time to really look and work at finding the hidden gems it made me a better photographer. The Midwest does not hand its self over easily. You have to be committed to connecting with it.”
