Community Living Facilities Community Workshop and Training Center’s Community Living Facilities provide training in daily living skills training in a 24-hour staff supported group setting. Training and support services are provided on an individual basis with the input of the residents. Case management services include person centered planning and the coordination of ancillary services.

• 18 years of age or older. • Must have a documented disability. • Committed to maximizing independent living skills. • Must not be in need of skilled nursing care, prenated care or specialized services. • Ability to learn to self-medicate, perform daily living skills and care for personal needs.

All staff members are trained in basic first aid, CPR and CPI (crisis intervention). As required by program certification, staff members have also successfully completed direct service provider curriculum. All staff are trained in Illinois mandated Rule 50. “The Community Living Facilities program offers a unique group home setting that gives our residents opportunities to improve their daily living skills. Our facilities are located in three different counties. Staff work with each resident to promote personal choice and input. The ultimate goal is for everyone to become as independent as possible”

has been a resident at the Crabel Court Community Living facility for 24 years. He has developed many independent living skills and is responsible for cleaning his room, doing his own laundry and helping with other chores around the facility. One of Phillip’s favorite activities is helping to care for Buster, a Boston Terrier that also resides at Crabel Court. Phillip has two jobs, working at CWTC and Bergner’s. He is active in the community participating in many leisure activities including dart ball, bowling, dining out and other activities. Phillip continues to work on his goals to maintain independence.
