Intermediate Care Facilities Community Workshop and Training Center’s Intermediate Care Facilities provide training and supervision in a 24 hour setting with program areas focusing on self care skills. These programs are offered on an individual basis keeping in mind preferences and choices of the individuals served. Coordinated health care, professional consultation, and case management services are provided and individualized per the needs of the residents.

• 18 years of age or older. • Must have a documented developmental disability. • Must have substantial limitations in the areas of self-care, language, self-direction, mobility or capacity for independent living. • Must not be in need of skilled nursing care, prenated care or specialized services not traditionally provided.

These facilities are liscensed by the State of Illinois. Funding is provided by State of Illinois Department of Public Aid. Residents pay a portion of income for board and programming.

“The residents of the Intermediate Care Facilities are provided services to assist them in becoming more independent while working on basic self care skills. All the residents are involved in a day training or work program. Services are coordinated with both their residential and vocational staff to provide comprehensive programs on an individual basis.”

All staff members are trained in basic first aid, CPR and CPI (crisis intervention). As required by program certification, staff members have also successfully completed direct service provider curriculum. All staff are trained in Illinois mandated Rule 50. has been a resident at Hart House Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) for nine years. He has improved his self-care skills and would someday like to move to a Community Living Facility (CLF). Bobby is a huge Chicago Cubs fan and has attended many Peoria Chiefs games, met players during the Cubs Caravan and has attended games at Wrigley Field. He is very active in the community and enjoys many leisure activities. Bobby likes living with his friends at Hart House and helping out around the house. He attends CWTC’s Community Integration program and is a hard worker.
