“Serious and persistent mental illness negatively impacts the clarity associated with one’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Clinical services that result in the maximization of knowledge, understanding, planning and support in the management of symptoms can lead to substantial enhancement of the quality of life and recovery.” ~Jim Simkins, Associate Executive Director, Vocational Services
All staff members are trained in basic first aid, CPR and CPI (crisis intervention). As required by program certification, staff members have also successfully completed direct service provider curriculum. All staff are trained in Illinois mandated Rule 50.

began attending the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) program in 2000 during a period of time when her symptoms of mental illness were quite pronounced and life disrupting. Through her participation in the CWTC PSR program, Kathy became invested in her recovery and adept at improved management of her mental illness symptoms. Kathy’s significant progress has opened new opportunities to be trained on multiple tasks associated with the processing of the CWTC Caterpillar contract. Kathy’s recovery has opened the door to actively pursuing her musical talents in a small business venture as a pianist and volunteering weekly teaching a music class to CWTC consumers in the Community Integration program. Kathy’s new recovery lifestyle of medication compliance, physical fitness, positive relationships, and enhanced self-esteem has opened many new doors.
