Please find below, the instructions for your black cloche hat pattern. Cut all your pattern pieces out, noting you need:2 side panels of main fabric 2 side panels of lining fabric 2 top pieces for the crown of the hat 2 lining top pieces 1 interfacing for the brim 2 brim pieces main fabric – cut on the fold of the fabric Cut out the fabric following the seam allowances given on the pattern

Sew together the two top seams of the crown pieces that go down the centre of your head (following the seam allowance given on the pattern pieces), as shown in the photograph below i. Be careful that you sew together the top pieces where it fits over the centre of the head, as it is easy to mistake these pieces

Sew the side walls to the 2 centre pieces sewn above (following seam allowances) You need to pin and ease these pieces into place as shown below

Cut out the fabric and interfacing for the brim piece and the lining (on the fold of the fabric) and iron interfacing to the main fabric, on the wrong side of the fabric turn right side out and press to get a nice finish and then pin to the main hat following

Pin the right side of brim to the right side of the hat

Stitch the brim on to the main hat using 1cm seam allowances.

Make up your inner lining for the inside of the hat in the same manner as above hat, (omitting the brim) then place the right side of the lining piece into the hat, facing you and stitch around the lower edge to the brim of the hat.

Attach gros grain ribbon onto the brim seam line, neatly sewing into place to cover seams underneath.

Decorate with whatever trim takes your fancy. With this hat I used black gros grain ribbon, with a purchased trim flower, that had a pin back on it that I could pin to the hat.
