GREASE Welcome to 1959 and Rydell High

where the familiar summer romance between Danny and Sandy is unfolding in a music and dance extravaganza with performances of the most memorable and unforgettable songs such as “Summer Nights”, “Greased Lightnin’”, “Hopelessly Devoted to You”, “Sandy”, and “You’re the One That I Want”.

Characters Danny Zuko: The leader of the “Greasers.” Well-built, nice-looking, with an air of cool and easy charm. Sandy Dumbrowski: Danny’s love interest. Sweet, wholesome, naive, cute, the Sandra Dee of the ‘Gidget’ movies. The Pink Ladies: The club-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls gang that hangs out with the Greasers. • Betty Rizzo: Leader of the Pink Ladies. Tough, sarcastic, and outspoken, but vulnerable. • Frenchy: A dreamer. Good-natured and dumb. Fussy about her appearance, especially her hair. She can’t wait to finish high school so she can be a beautician. • Marty: The ‘beauty’ of the Pink Ladies. Looks older than the other girls and tries to act sophisticted but betrays her age when she opens her mouth. • Jan: Loud and pushy with the girls but shy with boys. The Greasers: A super-cool, hardlooking group of high school wheeler-dealers...or so they think. • Kenickie: Second in command. Tough looking, tattooed, surly; avoids any show of softness and has an off-beat sense of humor. • Doody: Youngest of the guys. Small, boyish, open, wih a disarming smile and a hero-worshiping attitude toward the other guys. He plays the guitar. • Roger: The ‘anything-for-a-laugh’ type. Full of mischief, half-baked schemes and ideas. A clown who enjoys putting other people on. • Sonny LaTierri: Italian-looking, with shiny black hair and dark olive skin. A braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he is a real lady-killer. Patty Simcox: Typical cheerleader at a a middle-class American public high school. Catty but in a All-American girl sort of way. Cha-Cha DiGregorio: Slovenly and loud-mouthed. Takes pride in bieng the ‘best dancer at St. Bernadettes’. Eugene: Class valedictorian. Physically arkward, smug and pompus but guillable. Vince Fontaine: Radio disc jockey. slick, egotistical, fast-talking and a veteren Greaser. Johnny Casino: A Greaser student at Rydell who leads a rock ‘n’ roll band and thinks of himself as a teen idol. Teen Angel: A good-looking, falsetto-voiced, Fabian-look-alike. Miss Lynch: An old maid English teacher.

Producer and Director *KATHERINE ALEXANDER Katherine Alexander earned her teaching certificate attending classes at Gainesville Junior College (where she attended on a full theatre scholarship), UGA and Northwestern University. Certified to teach Theatre, as well as Mathematics, she taught at Hilsman MS, Athens Tech and George Walton Academy. Prior to her arrival at Mill Creek in 2008 she taught theatre full time at Berkmar HS for nine years, directing 46 main stage plays and musicals. This production marks her 27th play/musical here at Mill Creek. She developed a love for theatre in early childhood and has been involved in theatre for over 26 years. Some of her favorite roles as an actress over the years include Dorothy in The Wiz, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Guinevere in Camelot, Dr. Einstein in Arsenic & Old Lace, Dolly in Hello, Dolly!, Mrs. Pearce in My Fair Lady, Maria in The Sound of Music, Dolly in The Matchmaker and The Clown in Reese & Babe. Some of her favorite things about directing are the collaborative process and the unique and interesting challenges that each show present.

Becca DelPlato is a Mill Creek High School graduate and is thrilled to be back with these talented kids! Since graduating Becca has been involved with the local and collegiate theatre community as an actress, dancer, director, and choreographer. Becca is currently pursuing a B.F.A. in Acting from the Gainesville Theatre Alliance. Vocal Director *HADEN RIDER

Haden Rider is a recent graduate from Brenau University with a BA Theatre degree, and a graduate of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance training program. This is his first production with Mill Creek High School and he is absolutely thrilled to be working with such a hardworking, enthusiastic, and talented group of students/teachers. Haden has music directed and directed for numerous high schools and theatre academies throughout the North GA area. Most notably, Haden is the proud co-owner and creator of the national award winning children’s theatre company “Play On Players” (www.playonplayers.com). Haden is a theatre performer, director, and music director, as well as a self employed voice teacher/ coach. Past professional credits include: Mary Sunshine- Chicago (Atlanta Lyric Theatre), Telly- Godspell (Clinton Area Showboat Theatre), Jynx- Forever Plaid (Clinton Area Showboat Theatre), Jason McConnel- bare A Pop Opera (Next Generation Theatre). Acting Coach *AMY HATCHER

Amy Hatcher attended Carson-Newman College on a Drama Scholarship and Wake Forest University for her graduate work. Theatre has been an integral part of her life since she was ten years old acting in Carousel as one of the Snow Children at the Town & Gown Theater in Athens, GA. Some of her favorite roles as an actress include Nanette in No, No, Nanette” Ado Annie in Oklahoma” Mammy Yokum in Lil’ Abner” Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, Fiona in Brigadoon, Smitty Smith in How to Succeed Without Really Trying, Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Opal in Everybody Loves Opal” Betty Meeks in The Foreigner” Veta Louise Simmons in Harvey, Rose Benjamin in God’s Favorite, Miss Skillon in See How They Run” and Flora Van Huysen in The Matchmaker”. This is the second year Amy has acted as Acting Coach for a Mill Creek High School Musical, having done so for last year’s production of Li’l Abner. Amy is happily married to Steve Hatcher and is proud to be the mother of Jake Hatcher (a member of the cast) and Britt Hatcher (who graduated from MCHS in 2013). For seven years she has taught Gifted Social Studies at Osborne Middle School and has assisted Travis Smith in Directing four theatre productions at Osborne. She is especially grateful to Katherine Alexander for allowing her the joy of helping develop these aspiring actors and actresses.

Acting Consultant *TREY BUTLER

Originally from Cedartown, a small town about 60 miles Northwest of Atlanta, Trey is a Professional Actor based out of Atlanta, pursuing opportunities in TV, Film, and Commercials. He holds a degree in Theatre from the Gainesville Theatre Alliance at Brenau University. Professional credits include a children’s show for DreamWorks and HasBas Entertainment called Holiday Shrektacular, a Hershey spot for TNT’s Falling Skies as well as commercials for the NBA and Adidas. He’s also worked for professional theaters throughout the southeast. Some theatrical credits include Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer, Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain, and Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is the third musical for which Trey has consulated here at Mill Creek High School. Trey was an acting consultant for both Annie and Li’l Abner.
