Terms & Conditions

Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or check. All monies are in Canadian funds. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made. All settlements must be made with the clerk before any cattle will be release.

Disputes: Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in the case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block take precedence over the printed matter in the catalog.

Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Insurance will be available sale day.

Delivery

We will offer delivery within 200 km of home, after that at cost. Delivery will commence April 1, 2022 unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller.

Wintering

Anyone not wanting to take their bulls after the sale can make arrangements with the breeder to keep the bulls at a cost of $4.00 per day after April 1, 2022. ALL BULLS RETURNING TO THE BREEDER MUST BE INSURED. The bulls will be housed at the buyer’s risk. The breeders will not be responsible for any type of injury while the bulls are in their care.

Breeder’s Guarantee: All bulls have been registered, unless indicated in the catalog, and papers will be transferred to the new owner. All bulls sold are guaranteed to the standard breed association guarantees. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price.

Liabilities: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The sellers and/or sales staff assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for accidents that occur in, on, or about the premises.

Age Verification: All cattle at the sale are age verified.

Trucking: Cattle can leave that day and please make arrangements to do so. If you are unable to truck any cattle on sale day, please contact the particular breeder and arrangements can be made to load cattle the following day.

Loading out: Loading will not be allowed until the conclusion of the sale.

Welcome

We want to welcome you to our 2023 bull sale. We really appreciate your interest in our program, whether you bid, purchased, called, stopped in and looked, or watched online, we are grateful for the gestures. This year we have a great selection of Red, Red Blaze Faced, Black and Black Blazed Faced bulls for your appraisal. We strive to raise bulls with longevity, docility, calving ease and performance. Our bulls do not receive any creep feed whatsoever. We have too many small pastures away from home, that the bulls are weaned off just milk and grass. The grass this past year was a little on the dry side to say the least.

The bulls are on a full heard health program, and we collaborate with our Veterinarian Dr. Jordan Holt on that. Dr. Holt also will have semen tested the bulls prior to sale day. We fully guarantee that these bulls will be sound breeders, and we are very confident they will go out and work for you. If there are any issues, we will work with you to either replace the bull, provide you with a credit or a refund.

We are happy to take the bulls home after the sale and feed them until the 1st of April, at which time we will delivery the bulls at our convenience. The bulls are on a TMR ration and they receive a rolled grain mix as well as free choice hay. The bulls are not pushed and are fed for a more natural growth.

Once again, we are happy to have Tempest Red Angus joining the sale. Dave Slingerland is a dedicated young cattleman, who is building his Red Angus herd and will have some great bulls on offer. We also want to than our Auctioneer Ryan Konynenbelt, and the SALE team with Justin and Darren, for all their work and professionalism.

Welcome to the 3rd annual MCG Simmental and Tempest red angus bull sale. I’m excited to offer the most head and best pen of bulls I’ve raised with something for every need. This is the third year selling bulls from the Leeuwenburgh Endzone 37F herdsire who’s progeny have worked very well for me, and I’m excited to get more daughters milking this year. Also 4 bulls from a home raised sire Harlow 46H who was the first bull I sold through this sale that adds thickness and hair to his calves. I’ve scored them on a calving score again this year to assist with buying decisions.

1: Recommended for cows only.

2 : Could be used on larger framed well developed heifers

3: High calving ease, good on heifers.

Bulls are summered on a dry pasture without creep, from September 2nd on they’re fed a high roughage cereal silage ration with bull development pellet. They will be at the sale in working condition without being pushed. All bulls are on full herd health program including footrot vaccine and will be sold with a vet health inspection and semen test.

Again this year I’ll be consigning a small package of open yearling F1 Red AngusXsimmental replacement heifers. These are all heifers out of my angus females bred simmi making the great maternal cross. Will be vet checked and pelvic measured before sale

Bulls can return home until May 1st and be delivered for free. Will take $150/ bull off of purchase price for any bulls taken home day of sale. Heifers must be taken home day of sale.

21G was a sight unseen purchase I made from Erixon Simmentals with the great advice from Taylor with Bohrson Marketing as well as Dave Erixon. He was Homo Polled. We absolutely loved this bull. Probably the best dispositioned bull we have ever bought. This bull was really a meat machine with a ton of length. He was free moving and had a big foot. Unfortunately, this is the last set of calves we will have off this bull.

This bull has been a real standout since he was born. He has amazing length, depth, thickness and a big square hip. He is super docile, free moving and packed with performance. His dam is a moderate framed solid red young hard-working cow. This guy will have many friends on sale day. He had an actual weaning weight of 847 lbs on August 26th with no creep.

This is a bull that Murray took the long drive to Lampman SK to purchase from Meadow Acres Simmentals. We have to say that 101G was well worth the long trip there and back. This bull has sired some really powerful impressive calves. He is such an easy doing super docile bull. His sons will add a little bit of performance to you calves. He is free moving with excellent feet and is Homo Polled. He is a very consistent herd sire with all his calves patterning very much like him. His Sire and dam were sold at the Meadow Acres dispersal sale this past December and brought $18,000 & $12,000 respectively.

This bull’s mother is a Full Fleckvieh young cow we purchased from Brian Miller at the Southern Alberta Roundup sale in 2019. This bull is packed with thickness and depth. He could very well be the biggest hipped bull in the sale. He has some nice chrome on his face. This will be a bull that will have a lot of friends come sale day. As we still sell calves by the pound, this is a bull that will add the extra pounds to his calves.

This is one fancy Black individual. He is Grady’s 3rd bull in the sale, and he is a good one. He is long, thick and stylish. He is good footed and free moving. Grady has a half sister in herd that is probably the best Black first calf heifer in the herd. His mother is also a really nice young cow that is super femimnem and has a real nice udder and perfect feet.

This was our big-time herd bull we purchased from Westway Farms in the 2019 bull sale for $14,000, and he has definitely impressed us with some great calves. He was Homo Polled and Hetro Black and had a big blaze face. He is sired by the $480,000 W/C Loaded UP 119Y bull, who is one of the top used AI sires. 27F was a free moving good big footed bull who was as long as a freight train. His calves came easy and have performed nicely. Whether the calves are red or black, many of them come out with that nice bit of chrome. This is the last set of calves we will have for sale off this herd sire.

This solid red bull comes out of one of our oldest cows. His mother was one of the quietest cows on the place, always looking for a bucket with a treat. She was a solid black moderate framed cow that raised so many good calves over the years. This bull will also have lots of friends on sale day. He has a big square quarter and a huge spring of rib. He was raised on his mother as a single and had an actual weaning weight of 837 lbs on August 26th. Again, these bulls never received any creep, so these weights are all from grass and milk.

Although we purchased this bull from Deeg Simmental, he is a direct result of the McMillen Ranching program. Deeg’s and Canadian Donors purchased his dam as a bred heifer. His Sire, Hart State of War 056C, is a curve bender for EPD’s and is in the top 1% of the Simmental Breed. His Dam, MRL Miss 846F is a leading donor female for Canadian Donors and Bohrson Marketing, with embryos from her selling at the 2021 Agribition sale for $2200, and toping $1300 this past December at the Canadian Donor’s sale. Look for an all-round mix of calving ease and performance from 7H’s sons. We used 7H mainly on our heifers and a few younger cows. He calved super easy.
