Partnering for Alconbury Weald
Sitting on the transport spine of the country, within the crucible of the Greater Cambridge and Peterborough economy, Alconbury Weald will transform a 1420 acre largely brownfield and gated site into a unique and inspiring place for working, living, learning and leisure. Lynch Plant are currently one of the partners on the Alconbury Weald Development, Cambridgshire, headed up by our contracts manager Garry Cross who is developing an exceptional relationship with the project team to assist with the works. The project spans over 17KM and brings many challenges for which Garry and the team who have had to adapt to the various challenges on site. This partnership is another example of how well the Lynch onsite management works for the site project
team. There is a broad mixture of equipment from Lynch with Topcon Machine control. Urban&Civic will deliver a high quality low carbon Enterprise Campus - creating 8000 jobs. Plans for the site also include provision of 5000 homes of mixed size, price and tenure; 700 acres of green open space; and investment in a range of transport, energy and community facilities to support both the new residents and the surrounding town and villages. The project will be rolled out over twenty years, in a way that maximises economic, social and environmental gain to the local area and minimises impacts. Keeping partners and neighbours informed, involved and up to date with some of the complex planning processes and development phasing behind a scheme of this scale is a key part of how Urban&Civic work.

Where have we been working lately?
We have worked with Bam Ritchie who have been carrying out piling on the above project in anticipation of the HS2 link from Euston to Birmingham. The compound was erected in late September and we have supplied Tractors, Excavators and Hydrema's.
Another fun day working with Breheny at RAF Alconbury. We have a total of 19 machines in situ currently with expectations of 40+ in the coming weeks.
There next project will commence in Birmingham in April for HS2 were our services will be called upon to support.
Works progress through February at the Putney Embankment where several high tides means that a Lynch Long Reach was required to load and unload the barges with material and the extra reach means the back of the coffer dam can be worked on.
Lurking below the Battersea Power Station backdrop a Lynch excavator works relentlessly in the muck bay where the spoil from the Kirtling Street enabling works and site preparations are being sent before being loaded for removal.

L Lynch Plant Hire add Hydrema ADT’s
L Lynch Plant Hire & Haulage have ordered 20 Hydrema 912F articulated dump trucks, to add to the 14 machines ordered in 2016. Lynch have seen a steady increase in demand for the ultra-low ground pressure ADT’s. The 912F is powered by a 147hp stage IV final Cummins engine, offers constant four wheel drive, oil immersed dual circuit brakes and excellent all round visibility. An unladen weight of just 7,270kg and flotation tyres provide extremely low ground pressure. Hydrema 912F is available in both Multi Tip (180®slew) and straight tip skips, the new orders consist of both types. Merrill Lynch commented, “Lynch Plant Hire always invests in equipment that the market demands, in this case it was for compact low ground pressure articulated dump trucks, Hydrema is renowned for its trucks and the 912F was a great fit for us and our customers”

In the pictures attached you can see our 5 tonner pushing the last of the soil towards the Bobcat which then loads a skip, the skip hoisted up, tipped on a stockpile then another one of our 5 tonners loads a conveyor which empties in a Lynch tipper.
The muck you see coming out is the last of the job where an escalator will eventually lead to to the Paddington station
