WELCOME
A MOTHER’S LOVE is the anchor that holds us steady in the stormiest seas of life. It can transform pain into joy and darkness into light.
It’s a forever kind of love that knows no boundaries and overcomes obstacles as children change and mothers undergo their own transformations too.
As both a mother and a stepmother, I’ve experienced motherhood’s complexities first-hand.
Though it may not always be the simplest task, it is undeniably the most rewarding and fulfilling role imaginable.
Becoming a mother illuminated the depth of devotion, protection, encouragement and love my mother demonstrated.
However, I am fortunate to have been guided by numerous influential women who helped shape me before embracing motherhood.
So, when discussing issue 10 and its release just before Mother’s Day, the BETTY team made a unanimous decision.
To not only celebrate women, their interests, achievements and the many aspects of their diverse lives, but also to honour mothers wholeheartedly.
So, grab your favourite blanket, sink into the couch, and let us whisk you into a world where women’s interests, achievements and mothers take centre stage.
From the latest in fashion and beauty to invaluable wellness insights and self-care rituals, we’ve curated a collection
that speaks to every aspect of your life.
Dive into our thought-provoking book reviews, indulge in binge-worthy rom-coms, and read inspiring profiles that showcase the strength and resilience of women, families and beautiful mothers in our region.
With a sprinkle of humour and a dash of charm, we promise an experience that will leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.
As Mother’s Day approaches, let’s honour the remarkable mothers in our lives with gratitude and love.
Stepmothers, grandmothers, friends’ mothers, and mothers-in-law — let’s shout out to them all.
And if you’re a mother – let’s celebrate you too.
“Happy Mother’s Day”

Child-friendly classes A Bonus
GETTING BACK INTO THE GYM CAN BE TOUGH AFTER KIDS.
FINDING THE TIME can also be tricky, especially when you have younger children.
With Aquamoves’ new Child-Friendly Group Fitness Classes, working out has never been easier.
Bethany Hunter has been a regular at Aquamoves for the past year, but said she could find it hard to find time to work out and prioritise herself, with three kids under 10.
“I hadn’t really used a gym or anything since having my kids,” she said.
“But then one day with my son, I had to pick him up for something, because he was trying to reach something, and I realised I couldn’t lift him.
“I was really nervous [when I first went to Aquamoves], so I got a friend to come with me for the first two classes that I did.
“I started just doing classes, as I was way too scared to actually go in the gym part, but I slowly built up to that.”
Her older two children are now in school, but with her youngest only two years old, the classes seemed like the perfect option for her schedule.
“Once they started doing the Child-Friendly Group Fitness Classes, I thought that it was a great opportunity to take my
son for a swim afterwards,” she said.
“So we do my gym and his swim, so it’s a little Wednesday morning thing we do, and he loves it.”
Bethany now goes multiple days a week and loves participating in all sorts of classes.
“I really love the classes,” she said.
“The main thing I like about them is that it’s for me, not my kids.
“Even though my son comes to [the Child-Friendly Group Fitness Classes], it’s still for me, and it just makes it so I can come.
“I’ve never in my life thought that I’d be the type of person that would get up early to go do exercise in my life, but now I go to a 6am one once a week, and it’s the best because I get to wake up by my own decision, not because they’re calling me.
“I get to do something for myself before I do everything for them.
“You give everything you have to your family, and I feel like I’m actually getting myself back.”

Motherhood shifts focus
KELLY CARMODY SITS DOWN WITH NEW MOTHER SUMEET RANDHAWA FROM SHEPPARTON TO CAPTURE HER REFLECTIONS ON MOTHERHOOD, CHERISHED TRADITIONS AND THE VIBRANT TAPESTRY OF HER CULTURAL RICHNESS.
How has motherhood changed your perspective on life?
Motherhood has made my life more beautiful, and I feel like it’s given me a purpose to wake up every day and be the best version of myself for my daughter. It’s also made me more patient and understanding of what other parents go through to raise their kids.
What has been the most surprising thing about being a mother so far?
Since having my daughter, I’ve become selfless and caring and have learnt to put myself second. No matter which physical or mental state I am in, I have to show up for my child, and I’ve really surprised myself with how much I’ve changed for my daughter.
What are some of your favourite moments with your daughter?
I love breastfeeding her because I only get to see her expressions and the cute little faces she makes while feeding and trying to fall asleep. I also love her little hands and feet touching me in the process.
It’s a very personal and special moment for me every day. Other than that, I love nappy change times; I love reading to her in her nursery, having her on my lap, interacting with her in baby language, kissing and cuddling her, and dressing her up in cute little outfits.
How do you balance taking care of yourself and your child?
I’m pretty blessed that I have a lot of help around me. They say you need a village to raise a child, and I’m glad I have a strong village. My mother-in-law and my husband are my biggest support, and they are both very hands-on with my daughter and ensure that I always get the rest I need. My parents and sisters are less than a five-minute walk from
my house; they always step in whenever required. What advice would you give to other new mothers?
The first three months with your newborn are usually the hardest because you are trying to figure out how to be a mother and be there for them while dealing with all the changes around you, and during those times, you’ll likely feel like you are deep down in the trenches and may never make it out.
However, I promise you’ll get through every challenge your baby throws at you and come out of it stronger. Babies grow out of everything as they adjust and adapt to the world, so try to enjoy it all, even when it seems hard. Ask for help and get some me-time because you are human too.
Is there anything you wish you had known before becoming a mother?
I wish I had known how difficult breastfeeding is at the start. I feel like it’s something that’s not spoken about enough. I’m grateful to the lactation consultants and my older sister for talking me through it, and I’ve grown to love it, but it was very painful and challenging at the start, and I definitely shed some tears. I felt like I was failing, but I’ve become stronger on the other end.
How has your relationship with your partner evolved since becoming parents?
Our relationship has definitely become stronger, and our challenges during the newborn stage of our daughter’s life have brought us closer.
I appreciate him even more now and love watching him play and interact with our daughter. It’s amazing to see him being a dad every day, and he says he loves watching me being a mum, so I think it’s made us fall in love with each other even more. >
AND
9 BETTY 04/24
What are you most proud of as a mother?
Putting my daughter first before anything else in life, selflessly caring for her and her needs, focusing on raising a healthy and happy child, and giving her my 100 per cent attention and effort.
What are your hopes and dreams for your child’s future?
I hope my daughter grows up to be kind, caring, and confident enough to tackle anything in life. I would love for her to do something in the fashion world because I love fashion, haha, but in all honesty, her dreams will become mine. I would just be happy watching her live her dreams.
Can you share some aspects of your Indian culture that are particularly meaningful to you and your family?
Our families come from a state in India called Punjab, which makes us Punjabi, so we follow the Punjabi culture, and we love many things about it. One of the most meaningful aspects is our Punjabi
a strengthening of the sibling’s bond, which is quite beautiful, and in turn, the sisters get presents from the brothers. Do you consider any specific values from your heritage important to instil in your daughter as she grows up?
One of the values I want to instil in her is to be hospitable. We love welcoming people into our homes with open hearts, and I want this warmth to continue with her.
The other one is respect, being respectful towards everyone, whether someone is younger or older and respecting other people’s opinions and beliefs. Lastly, I would want her to have a sense of community and family unity.
language, and we love speaking that at home, particularly with the elders in the family.
We also really like dressing up in our traditional clothes, and our wardrobes are full of them. Lastly, we also love our cuisine, and it’s definitely comfort food for us.
How do you celebrate traditional Indian holidays with your family, and what significance do these celebrations hold for you?
One of the main holidays we celebrate is called Diwali, where we all dress up in Indian clothes, buy sweets and presents for each other and decorate the house with candles and flowers. On the day, we do a small prayer at home with family members, go to the Sikh temple (Gurudwara), light a candle, sit around at home and enjoy the feast with the family.
I could go into the detailed history behind this festival, but the short version is that it marks the win of good over evil. The other we like to celebrate is called Rakhri, where the sisters tie a thread around their brother’s wrist, which signifies
How do you balance preserving your Indian cultural identity and integrating into the broader society and local community?
I think the balance started from a young age and came very naturally, and it’s just the way of life for me. I uphold my traditional values and beliefs when it comes to certain things, and at the same time, I embrace the Western influence in my life, too. I have a good sense of my identity, so it helps me not lose sight of my Indian values and keep up with the modern ones.
How do you incorporate elements of Indian cuisine, language or arts into your family life, and why are these important to you?
Well, we cook and eat Indian food every week. We speak Punjabi at home, especially with our parents and grandparents, and that’s quite important to me because I just love family members sitting around and sharing stories about their lives and joking around in our language.
I personally also love Punjabi/Indian music, and it’s what plays in my car all the time. It’s also a huge part of our parties and events; everybody enjoys dancing to those tunes.
How do you envision your daughter embracing her Indian heritage as she grows and navigates her way through life?
I hope my daughter embraces our culture confidently because she’s proud of her skin colour, speaks the language, loves dressing up in traditional clothes for our events and parties, and dances to classic tunes because nothing is more fun than that.

Unlocking
RECENTLY, I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CATCH UP WITH DIRECTOR AND REGISTERED NURSE OLIVIA FELDTMANN FROM ANO COSMETICS & SKIN.
HERE'S A SNAPSHOT OF OUR CONVERSATION, HIGHLIGHTING WHAT SETS THIS CLINIC APART IN THE WORLD OF SKINCARE AND COSMETIC TREATMENTS.
Could you recommend a basic skincare routine using your medical-grade skincare products for someone looking to enhance their skin health?
At ANO Cosmetics & Skin, we believe in keeping skincare routines simple yet effective.
As proud local stockists of the world-renowned DMK range, we prioritise medical-grade skincare products for optimal skin health.
For those looking to begin their skin journey, we recommend a basic skincare routine comprising a cleanser to remove impurities, followed by a serum and moisturiser dependent on your skin’s needs.
Finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect against UV damage. A simple routine, incorporating quality products from our DMK range, can help achieve healthier, more radiant skin.
What are the benefits of the DMK range?
Built on the principle that skin cells respond best to familiar chemistry, DMK’s approach revolves around the concept of remove, rebuild, protect and maintain.
By working in synergy with the skin’s structure and function, DMK delivers enduring results.
What advice would you give to someone seeking skin or cosmetic treatments?
Finding a clinic that truly listens to your needs is paramount. Starting your aesthetic or skincare journey with a consultation allows you to assess whether the practitioner or therapist aligns with your needs and goals.
If you sense pressure to make a purchase, it’s a red flag. Your initial consultation should leave you feeling empowered and enthusiastic about embarking on your journey.
For clients interested in more intensive treatments like Cosmelan, what should they know before considering this option, and what results can they expect?
Cosmelan is a top choice for pigmentation treatment globally. This intensive treatment involves in-clinic application and a prescribed at-home regimen.
While temporary redness, peeling, and sensitivity may occur, expect remarkable results, including visible pigmentation reduction and improved skin tone and texture over time with continued care and sun protection.

radiance
Can you explain the benefits of Hydro Facial?
The Hydro Facial is renowned for its deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, and hydration in one session, effectively targeting concerns like blackheads, while being suitable for most skin types.
Its customisable treatment addresses specific issues and provides immediate results without downtime.
This makes it a convenient and effective choice for rejuvenating and improving overall skin health.
What are the regulatory changes for the cosmetic industry and how do they affect your ability to advertise and promote cosmetic treatments?
Recent TGA guidelines have imposed strict regulations on the cosmetic industry, limiting health practitioners’ ability to advertise and educate clients about treatments involving scheduled medications.
This means that consumers can only seek information about such treatments through face-to-face consultations in clinics.
At ANO Cosmetics & Skin, we offer complimentary consultations with our registered nurses, allowing you to make informed decisions about your treatment options without any obligation.
What do you think has been the key factor to the success of ANO?
We opened in 2020 amid the challenges of COVID and faced significant barriers and stigma surrounding cosmetic medicine in our town.
It was crucial to me that our community be educated and aware of its benefits. Through leveraging social media, collaborating with local business owners, and driven by sheer passion and consistency, our business rapidly expanded from a single-practitioner operation to now employing six individuals, serving a clientele of over 3000.
I am incredibly grateful for the continued support our local community has shown us.
What sets ANO apart?
We are a registered nurse-led clinic dedicated to fulfilling the aesthetic aspirations of our clientele. With two registered nurses offering cosmetic treatments and working closely alongside our in-house cosmetic dermal therapist, we prioritise collaboration to ensure the best results for our clients.
This multi-disciplinary approach and in-house referral system uniquely positions us to provide holistic care to our clientele, addressing their needs comprehensively.

» One third of Victorian women lack adequate physical activity, and have insufficient fruit and vegetable intake.
» 45% of Australian females have experienced a mental health problem at some point in their lifetime.
» One in five Victorian women are affected by family violence over the course of their lifetime, being the leading contributor to preventable death, disability and illness.
Here’s what you need and when
» A blood pressure check every two years.
» STI screening for sexually active women of all ages.
» A Breast self-check once a month.
» A Bone Health check once a year from age 45 or post-menopause.
» Cervical cancer screening.
» Pay attention to your mental health and know the difference between occasional moodiness and an emerging mental health concern.

FAMILY VALUES ARE NOT JUST TAUGHT; THEY’RE WOVEN INTO THE FABRIC OF OUR LIVES AND PASSED DOWN FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT.
LIKE CHERISHED HEIRLOOMS, they carry words of wisdom, traditions, and a deep love for those who come before us.
For Bridie Sanderson, 31, her family is everything and stands as an anchor and guiding light in her journey through life.
Her mother, Joanne Sanderson, 56, and her grandmother, Elizabeth Simm, 86, have helped shape her decisions.
They have instilled in her the virtues of patience and resilience, especially during the challenging moments of parenthood.
Above all else, they have shown her that cherishing family connections and valuing the moments spent together are the most essential elements in life – the gift of time.
“Mum and Nan are not women who use many words, but more so actions of support and love,” Bridie said.
“So, we spend a lot of time together, having afternoon teas
16 BETTY 04/24
and coming together for special occasions.
“I tend to use my words a lot more, and I am doing my best to ensure my girls, Eliza and Addilyn, are comfortable using both.
“We always say presence vs presents — family is top priority.”
In addition to their shared appreciation for the value of time, another common bond among the women is their large families.
Elizabeth, originally from Tatura, was the third youngest among eight siblings. She went on to have seven children, one of whom is Joanne.
Joanne, in turn, welcomed five children into the world — four girls and one boy.
Bridie, one of Joanne’s four daughters, is presently busy juggling part-time work while actively raising four lively youngsters.
“Bearing children must be in our genes,” Bridie chuckled.
“Times have certainly changed, though. Nan primarily stayed home to raise her children, while mum stayed home most of the time while also working casually — Nan was always there to babysit.
“Since my youngest was seven months old, I’ve worked part-time to contribute to our income and help cover our mortgages and living expenses, as this is the norm in today’s society.
“My husband’s involvement in raising our kids compared to my dad or my grandfather’s is much different. The role of women has changed.”
Regarding personality traits, Eliza is often described as the loudest. Bridie, however, is known for her humour, although she’s also the most sensitive.
Yet, when all together, they thoroughly enjoy sharing a good laugh.
> 17 BETTY 04/24
“I remember one family Easter around 2010 when the face swap app came out; we all got busy taking pictures and swapping faces,” Bridie said.
“A lot of laughs and snorts were had while sharing the pictures around the room – including Nan.”
As Mother’s Day approaches, Bridie mentioned that this year’s celebrations would be slightly different as the family gathers to also celebrate her Nan’s 87th birthday.
While the day marks a significant milestone, Bridie said many cherished memories live within her heart.
“As children, we would have lots of sleepovers, and I have fond memories of being with Nan on school holidays. I still remember her letting us have full access to her kitchen and baking cakes, muffins and anything out of whatever we wanted,” she said.
“We always had a good laugh and would share our concoctions with mum and aunties when they picked us up.
“Seeing my Nan and mum with my children is a real gift. I cherish all the times spent together and am forever grateful for all our memories.”
As I observed Elizabeth from a distance while capturing the images that would symbolise this unique bond of four generations, I couldn’t help but be moved.
I could see her deep sense of awe as she gazed upon her daughter, granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.
Her eyes shimmered with pride, her expression radiating love.
In that touching moment, the timeless connections spoke volumes without needing any words.
Showing a beautiful testament to the enduring power of family, woven together through generations of love.

A passion you Tone down
can’t down
STORY: DJEMBE ARCHIBALD. PHOTOGRAPHY: MEGAN FISHER
A PASSION FOR THE COMMUNITY AND REPRESENTATION IS WHAT MAKES THIS SHEPPARTON LOCAL TICK.
TONE JESSUP has done just about everything, the real love is for community and connection.
Tone is especially invested in local youth and representation.
“I’m a lived experienced peer worker for a local youth mental health service,” Tone said.
“It is just the most like fulfilling thing in the world, getting to connect with young people and connect with my community and deliver programs and workshops that provides the opportunity for connection.”
Tone hopes to be a space that anyone can come to and feel safe.
“I’m able to use my lived experience of my mental health journey and recovery to provide the space for hope for young people who are experiencing similar feelings and emotions,” Tone said.
“I’ve really tailored what I do to be more like community focused because that’s my passion.”
Within the community, however, Tone’s not too fond of a noticed trend — inaccessibility to mental health services.
“When you’re a young person, even if you’re just going through quote-unquote normal experiences, accessing support and validation for that can be tough,” Tone said.
“At the moment I’m really on a rampage of talking about the inaccessibility of assessment and diagnosis for neurodivergent people.”
For those who can’t access diagnosis, Tone is also an advocate for self diagnosis.
“Being able to see the value in self diagnosis is important because it is so inaccessible for your everyday kind of people,” Tone said.
“If you have done your research and you truly know yourself and that’s what you identify with, then there are still resources out there for you.”
Outside of working in the mental health space, Tone is passionate about Yorta Yorta Country.
“It’s an incredible privilege to be on the country that you were born on,” Tone said.
“I was born and raised on Yorta Yorta, and when I’m back, there’s such a powerful force.
“I always describe it as ‘there’s something in the Yorta Yorta water because it just draws you in and when you acknowledge it and appreciate it, you just get to thrive on it.”
Tone’s greatest passion is visibility for everyone and anyone.
“It’s a really powerful tool to be so out in my community doing things all the time and loud and proud saying, ‘I’m a queer and gender queer human and I’m doing the things I like’,” Tone said.
“All you need to do to create a safe space is just be there.”

ON AND OFF THE MAT, GEORGIE WASER IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH.
THE 21-YEAR-OLD is dominating karate competitions, and as she gears up for another world competition, she couldn’t be more excited.
After her mum enrolled her in the sport when she was five, Georgie immediately fell in love.
“It’s been 16 years now, more than half my life,” she said.
Two, sometimes three days a week, Georgie is training, working on her skills as she prepares to compete in the World Karate Championships in October.
While the nerves are already setting in, she’s doing everything she can to be prepared for the competition.
“I’m feeling jittery. I always feel nervous before competitions,” Georgie said.
“I am definitely more nervous this time, having my family also competing.”
Georgie will be joined by her mother and her younger sibling at the competition, where they will all compete for Australia.
While this is Georgie’s third world competition, this will be the first time her family will join her.
“I’ve always been proud of my Mum and sibling doing karate, but I’ve never seen them compete to this level,” she said.
“So far, I’ve been the only one in the family.
Georgie first competed internationally in 2015 for an Asia and Oceania competition before going on to the 2017 World Championships.
With two black belts already under her belt, she’s ready to take on the competition in October.
Every Monday and Thursday, she trains with the dojo in Shepparton at the Japan Karate Association Australia.
As she gets closer to the competition, the dojo plans to squeeze extra training in the week, too.
Once a month, she also participates in specialised training for black and brown belts that help her sharpen her skills.
While she knows her training can seem like a lot, she’s always happy to do it every week.

“I’m used to it,” Georgie said.
“I enjoy the training, and I love the social aspect of sharing them with people who also enjoy it. You know, it’s a passion.”
On the mat, Georgie still keeps her cheerful demeanour.
“I get told off for smiling all the time,” she said.
“I get told all the time, ‘We are not your friends; we’re your enemies when we’re out on the mat’.
“I’ve been told that it’s absolutely terrifying when I actually do take it seriously, and I step onto the mat and put that karate mask on like I’ve had actual judges shift away in their chairs.”
Outside of karate, Georgie keeps herself busy with her part-time job at Greater Shepparton Secondary College, playing the violin, volunteering every Saturday morning at Parkrun and donating plasma every two weeks.
In 2022, she was also awarded the Young Citizen of the Year award for Shepparton and Greater Shepparton, which came as a total shock to her.
“There are definitely other people within our community who have done more than [what I’ve done],” Georgie said.

GV HEALTH INTRODUCES WATER BIRTHS FOR ENHANCED MATERNITY EXPERIENCE.
A NEW BABY is like the beginning of all things — wonder, hope, and dreams of possibilities.
So, when first-time parents Sarah Hall and Bayden Kay welcomed their son Lincoln into the world on February 19 through a water birth at GV Health, their experience was a magical beginning.
The serene environment of the water birthing suite provided a tranquil backdrop for Sarah and Bayden’s journey into parenthood.
And with the gentle support of the medical team, Sarah immersed herself in the warm water, finding comfort and relaxation within the soothing surroundings.
“Whenever I feel unwell or just want to relax, I’ve always found water soothing, calming, and good for pain relief,” Sarah said,
“So, after researching birthing options and discovering that the water birthing suite was ready at GV Health, everything felt like it was just meant to be.”
overall experience.
“It was such a personalised experience, and the care we received was fantastic,” she said.
“It was so relaxing, and I felt so comfortable.
“I had my midwife Heather in the room with us and another midwife called Michelle who was experienced in water births, and they were both wonderful.”
Lincoln was born at 12:18pm, and Sarah remained in the bath for some time to enjoy skin-toskin contact with her new bundle of joy, while they prolonged the cord clamping before Bayden experienced cutting his son’s cord.
“I highly recommend the experience to anyone. I couldn’t have asked for a better labour. It was so special,” Sarah said.
“Lincoln and I stayed overnight in the birthing suite and were released the following day, where the next exciting chapter began,” she said with a smile as she looked at her little boy.
As Lincoln entered the world, the room was filled with joy and anticipation.
Positive words of affirmation adorned the walls surrounding their experience, soft music played in the background, and fairy lights twinkled, casting a gentle glow.
Reflecting on their experience, Sarah expressed gratitude for their compassionate care at GV Health and the

ONLINE dating not so bad
THE DAYS OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT AND CHANCE ENCOUNTERS SEEM TO BE LONG GONE. INSTEAD, WE HAVE AN APP FOR THAT.
Finding romance online can be tricky to navigate, but it’s not impossible.
Whether you’re looking for the love of your life, your future husband or wife, or maybe just to meet some new people and have a bit of fun, finding similar-minded people has never been easier.
SET YOUR INTENTIONS
Before you start swiping, think about exactly what you’re looking for. Make your boundaries clear; if you’re looking for long-term commitment, keep that clear, and talk to people looking for the same thing.
BIOS MATTER
As much as we don’t like to admit it, first impressions matter. People make snap judgements when looking at your profile, so this is your shot to make a good impression.
Your first photo should be just of you; save the photos with friends for later, and never include a photo with your ex (you’d think we wouldn’t need to say this, but you’d be surprised).
Your bio should include a little about yourself and what you’re looking for. Make it fun, or make it serious; it’s up to you; just don’t leave it blank.
DO I MESSAGE FIRST?
Congrats, you have a match! Now what?
Messaging first can be scary, but sometimes it’s just something you have to do. You could wind up waiting forever to talk to someone if you wait for them to message first. And people like it when you make the first move, so be bold.
FIRST DATES
When you find someone you like, and the conversation is good, it’s time to take that next step and meet face to face. It’s easily the scariest, most nerve-racking part of it all.
Don’t overthink things too much; have fun and meet new people. And if it doesn’t go as well as you’d like, there’s always another date with someone new on the horizon.
Have fun, be safe and enjoy meeting new people.

Navigating perimenopause
UNDERSTANDING THE TRANSITION BEFORE MENOPAUSE — WITH GYNAECOLOGIST DR MARGREET STEGEMAN FROM THE SHEPPARTON WOMEN’S HEALTH CENTRE.
MENOPAUSE. Hasn’t enough been said about this already? Another article on hot sweats, not sleeping, moodiness, sore joints, vaginal dryness, frequent urination, anxiety, depression?
Well, if enough is said about menopause, let’s talk about the years leading up to it, the perimenopause. These years are not a walk in the park either.
This phase in a woman’s life lasts on average six years, but can be as long as 10 years. That is right, 10 years before your periods stop and you become postmenopausal you can be perimenopausal.
It is usually characterised by irregular periods. Typically, the periods will get shorter before they become very irregular. This is caused by the ovaries running out of eggs.
Other symptoms include hot flushes, mood swings, headaches, not sleeping well, anxiety, depression, difficulties concentrating, “foggy brain”, weight gain, feeling bloated, sore joints and muscles and low sex drive.
Often women describe feeling exhausted and worn out. There can be difficulties with getting up and making it through the day.
In this time of your life, the premenstrual tension that you felt in the week leading up to the period can become a fullblown war zone, an irrational feeling of aggression without a particular cause. Beware the housemates.
It is awful for all involved and assumed to be caused by a change in the hormones, the overall lowering in oestrogen and a rise in progesterone in the week leading up to the period.
There are usually no tests needed as the symptoms make the diagnosis. There are also no hormone levels that will explain your symptoms or how you feel.
You need to get advice and help to get through this time. You can try to reduce the hot flushes by cutting back on caffeinated drinks such as coffee and tea, lowering the intake of alcohol, avoiding spicy foods, layering clothing and using fans or air conditioning.
Staying fit and healthy, exercising regularly, sleeping enough and eating a healthy diet, and quitting smoking: all help battle the symptoms.
It is also a time of weight gain, an average of half a kilo per year between the ages of 45 to 55, and this especially manifests itself around the waist.
An increase in waistline is associated with an increased risk of blood pressure issues, heart disease and diabetes.
Lowering the calorie intake and increasing your exercise levels are solutions. Around this time, it is good to start with weight exercise too as this will counterbalance the loss in
Shepparton Women’s Health Centre gynaecologist Dr Margreet Stegeman.
muscle mass and protect against the weakening of the bones.
You still need good contraception, as even though your ovaries are running low on eggs, they can still ovulate and get you pregnant.
Sometimes hormonal treatment to balance out the hormones is required. The pill for instance can overrule your hormones, stop the fluctuation caused by ovulation, and replenish the lack of oestrogen, thus also helping for hot flushes and night sweats.
It can even out the moods and bring peace to the household. This is not suited for everyone in this age group, so talk to your doctor about options.
In short, the perimenopausal years can be a difficult and confusing time in a woman’s life but there are options to help you get through this.

BECOMING A FOSTER CARER IS A VERY FULFILLING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL THOSE INVOLVED.
HELPING OUT CHILDREN of all ages get the support they need can be a very rewarding experience, and one that Berry Street strives to offer.
Berry Street has been supporting Victorian children and families for over 140 years, providing safe and nurturing home environments to children and young people who cannot live with their own families or don’t have someone to care for them.
Fiona Francis, a foster carer for Berry Street, has opened her home to children and young people in need for the past 12 years.
Fiona said there are plenty of benefits to becoming a foster carer, and her family has loved the experience.
“I find it really rewarding,” she said.
“Some kids are tougher than others, but I think if we can give them some happy times and show them some love, we hope they leave our house with some good memories.”
Children of all ages have called her family home, some for a short time and others for longer. When she can, Fiona loves to receive updates.
“We had a boy come into our care, and we saw him through until he was 18,” she said.
“He still comes home; he thinks our home is his home.
“I have some great relationships with some families
where the kids have gone back to their families, and they’ve stayed in contact with us.
“We still get photos and visits if they’re in our area.”
Anyone can become a foster carer with Berry Street.
As long as you’re over 21, have a spare bedroom, are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, are willing to complete and maintain compliance checks and, most importantly, offer a safe, nurturing home environment, you can become a carer.
Fiona said if you were considering becoming a foster carer, take the leap and reach out to Berry Street.
“A lot of people say that they can’t do it until their kids are grown up,” she said.
“My youngest only just turned 18 now, so they were quite young when we had foster kids.
“It’s helped them. I think they’ve worked out a lot about life and about sharing their things, their home, and their parents.
“My kids are really good with them.”
If you are considering providing children and young people who have experienced trauma with a safe and secure home environment, you can email fostercare@berrystreet.org.au, phone 1800 816 037 or submit an online foster care inquiry via the Berry Street website.
Fiona Francis has cared for many children.

Nurture your mind, body and soul
IN A WORLD FILLED WITH CONSTANT DEMANDS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, PRIORITISING SELF-CARE IS NECESSARY FOR MAINTAINING OVERALL WELLBEING AND HAPPINESS.
TAKING CARE of yourself is not selfish; it’s essential.
So here are some tips and inspirational ideas specifically tailored for women.
Remember that self-care is highly personal, so choose activities that resonate with you and bring you joy and relaxation. Enjoy.
Nature walks: Stroll in nature, whether through a nearby park, along the beach, or in a forest. Connecting with nature can be incredibly grounding and rejuvenating.
Creative expression: Engage in creative activities such as painting, drawing, or crafting. Allow yourself to express your thoughts and emotions freely through art.
DIY spa day: Treat yourself to a spa day at home with DIY face masks, a luxurious bubble bath and soothing aromatherapy candles. Pamper yourself with a manicure, pedicure, or foot soak for extra relaxation.
Mindful colouring: Spend some time colouring in a mindfulness colouring book. This simple yet therapeutic activity can help quiet the mind and promote relaxation.
Gardening: Spend time tending to a garden or indoor plants. Getting your hands dirty in the soil and watching your
plants thrive can be gratifying and calming.
Reading for pleasure: Curl up with a good book and get lost in a captivating story. Choose a genre that you enjoy and immerse yourself in the world of fiction or non-fiction.
Dancing: Put on your favourite music and dance like nobody’s watching. Dancing is a fun way to release stress, boost your mood and get your body moving.
Journaling: Set aside time to journal your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Use this opportunity for self-reflection and introspection and explore your innermost thoughts in a safe space.
Cooking or baking: Spend time in the kitchen preparing a delicious meal or baking treats. Experiment with new recipes or revisit old favourites and savour the process of cooking as a form of self-expression and nourishment.
Digital detox: Take a break from screens and disconnect from technology for a few hours or a whole day. Use this time to engage in activities that promote relaxation and mindfulness, such as meditation, yoga or simply enjoying quiet time alone or with loved ones.

French toast treat
TREAT YOUR MUM this Mother's Day to a delicious brunch. This simple and delectable French toast recipe is easy to follow, so even the youngest chefs will be able to follow along. Serves four.
INGREDIENTS:
8 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche works best)
4 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Maple syrup, fresh berries and whipped cream for serving
METHOD:
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Heat up a teaspoon of butter in your pan over medium heat.
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 20-30 seconds on each side, making sure each slice is evenly coated.
Place the soaked bread slices into your heated pan, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve the French toast with maple syrup, whipped cream and fresh berries for a treat your mum will love.

Life changing role embraced
TO SAY THAT RIKKIE-LEE TYRRELL’S LIFE HAS CHANGED DRAMATICALLY OVER THE PAST 18 MONTHS WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT.
A WIFE TO AARON and mother to Laylla and Emmett, November 2022 changed her life forever, when she was elected to the Victorian Parliament’s Legislative Council as the One Nation Member for Northern Victoria.
Rikkie-Lee now represents constituents in the largest electorate in Victoria, from Corryong in the east to Mildura in the west, and down to Yarra Glen in the south.
The confines of Parliament House in Spring St are a little different to her job prior to the election as a dairy farmer with Aaron in Invergordon.
“I am proud that a dairy farmer from a small country community can be elected by her constituents to represent them in the Victorian Parliament,” she said.
The journey into state politics for Rikkie-Lee has had its fair share of ups and downs and she credits the support of her family and friends to help her get through the challenges she has faced on the road to Spring St.
“Like everyone in life, I have faced adversity and setbacks prior to being elected to parliament and have been lucky to
have the support of my husband and two children and my friends along the way”.
As a working mother, Rikkie-Lee acknowledges the sacrifices that all working mums make juggling their careers with their responsibilities at home and is looking forward to a quiet Mother’s Day with her children.
“The kids usually deliver breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day, so I am really looking forward to that,” she said.
Rikkie-Lee said she entered state politics to help regional communities with issues relating to Victorian Government matters and help her constituents navigate the complex bureaucracy of government and its many departments.
“Dealing with the government can be complex and many people feel overwhelmed dealing with government representatives,” she said.
Rikkie-Lee is excited her electorate office is now located in Shepparton at 5 Vaughan St and encourages the public to contact her for assistance with any Victorian Government matters.

REPORTER KELLY CARMODY CAUGHT UP WITH TOTAL TOOLS OWNER
HAXHIJE COX TO CHAT BUSINESS, FAMILY AND NEW VENTURES.
How has your business journey evolved since last year, can you share any updates on your Total Tools Shepparton franchise and Tools Down Coffee Hub?
We have sold the Tools Down Coffee Hub Business, but still own the container, and the new owner is leasing it off us, so now we are landlords (another string to my bow)
Opening our second Total Tools store in Echuca has been a long, drawn-out process (we have been working on it since late 2021). Still, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel, with the hope to have the store open by late April or early May 2024. Or by the time you are reading this.
You mentioned your children being inspired to join your business ventures or pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. Can you tell us more about their involvement?
Our daughter Danielle has since opened up her own little Boutique (FIKA & FREY) in the old Maude St Mall, and I have had to cover for her on days when she had things on or was unwell and helped during Mother’s Day and the Christmas period, which is a nice change to sitting in an office or selling tools.
Our oldest son, Mitchell, is still involved in the Total Tools Shepparton store with the hope of him helping out at the Echuca store.
Our youngest son, Aaron, will be relocating to Echuca to be the 2iC at the new store, so he is looking forward to that.
We have also bought a house in Echuca where he will live, and it has been handy for us, too, as we have been using it regularly; it’s like staying at an Airbnb for the night for a mini break from the hustle and bustle of running a business. You employ around 15 female staff members. Can you discuss the importance of fostering diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace?
Being involved in a male-dominated industry, my female staff members and I have had times when male customers don’t want us to serve them as they feel we don’t know enough to help them, but this is getting better. What motivates you to continue expanding and exploring
new business opportunities, such as the upcoming Total Tools business in Echuca?
Helping give local people a job and giving the community a locally owned and operated business in their town so they don’t need to travel.
Looking ahead, what are your goals and aspirations for the future of your businesses and your involvement in the Shepparton community?
I plan to continue doing what I am currently doing, but sharing between the two stores in Shepp and Echuca, while trying to work fewer days (if that’s possible), still helping my daughter out with her shop when needed, hoping to be able to travel and then be there for when the grandkids arrive (hopefully in the not too distant future).
And who knows what else will happen in the future?

I CONGRATULATE SHEPPARTON NEWS ON HIGHLIGHTING THE EXTRAORDINARY ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MANY FABULOUS WOMEN IN OUR REGION.
AS I REFLECT on my career in business and politics, the overwhelming emotion that I feel is great joy and satisfaction.
I am proud to be a member of a family that has owned a long-standing successful business – Lovell’s Shepparton Newsagency.
In addition to starting my career in small business, I was also actively involved in community service and advocacy from a young age through organisations that include Rotaract, Friends of GVBH and the Fairley Leadership Program.
As a member of Rotaract, I found great joy in being part of a youth-led organisation dedicated to helping the local community.
This experience fuelled my desire to serve my community and become an elected representative.
For the past 21 years, I have been honoured to represent an amazing part of our state and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity and support given to me by this community.
As a local MP I have been able to make a difference to the lives of individuals and services provided throughout northern Victoria.
My time as the Minister for Housing and Minister for Early Childhood provided me the opportunity to implement policies that introduced initiatives such as the Education First Youth Foyer Program and quality improvements in the provision of Early Childhood Education.
Our region is blessed with many inspirational female leaders, and I know the next generation of strong women will be just as inspirational.

Sparkling with passion
KELLIE BEVERLY HAS CREATED HER OWN WONDERLAND INSIDE BE MELLOW.
OVER THE PAST YEAR, she has curated the store into a haven of delightful fashion, accessories, jewellery, candles and gifts, making it the perfect place to shop.
The store was a new venture for Kellie, inspired by someone close to her heart.
“My Mum passed away in the December prior [to opening the store],” Kellie said.
“Her favourite outing was shopping with her girls and, of course, coffee and cake. She had a “thing” for sparkles, whether it be jewellery, candles, ornaments or colourful clothing.”
With multiple businesses under her belt, relaxing and taking a break aren’t ideas that come naturally to Kellie.
“Mum was always saying to me, ‘Can’t you slow down and enjoy life a bit more, Kell? If you’re going to do business, why don’t you do something that you really love, something you will get a lot of joy from?’” she said.
“So the Be is for my mum, Barbara, and Mellow is about “being” in the present moment, whatever you’re doing, whomever you’re with ... just enjoying life.”
Kellie’s passion project, Be Mellow, is having it’s first birthday. She has created a fun-loving environment for women to be relaxed and playful, even step out of their usual style into a new look that makes them feel fabulous.
“Our styling sessions are so fun, we call them ‘dress-ups’,” she said.
When you step into Be Mellow, prepare to be transported into a wonderland of beautiful aromas, colours and textures, with a friendly, kind and welcoming feel.
Kellie has carefully selected a stunning array of relaxed, feminine styles. From beautiful silks and free-flowing linens made in Italy and France, to boho-inspired Australian and Indian cottons. At Be Mellow you’ll find fashion to take you anywhere, from a stylish luncheon to your dream vacation.
“Women want to feel confident, comfortable, and a little bit special,” she said.
“Our ladies love a little bit of difference, a touch of sparkle or a stylish embellishment ... something that makes [their outfit] more unique.
“There’s so much variety, and it’s all very feminine and gorgeous.”
Be Mellow, located at 21 Fraser St, Shepparton, is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
Pop in for a personalised styling session or book with your girlfriends to come and play dress-ups.
Champagne and nibbles supplied.

Wellbeing power through reading
HEALING HANDS HELP HEARTS’ LATEST SERVICE IS HELPING PEOPLE CONNECT WITH THEIR INNER MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING THROUGH THE POWER OF READING.
STORY: GEORGIA TACEY
ALANA PERRY, OWNER of Healing Hands Help Hearts, has started a therapeutic book club service for people to understand their behaviour, thoughts, feelings and emotions.
“We centre the work around a book that’s about mental health and wellbeing, with the main book that I use is What Happened to You by Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey,” Alana said.
“It’s all about the brain and how our brain affects our regulation and state and then impacts our behaviour and how trauma impacts our brain and nervous system.
“We use that as our springboard ... and we chat about the book, and there are journal prompts that people can write about.”
The book club is designed for small groups of up to four people, with the program running for around seven to eight weeks.
Meeting once a week for two hours, you’ll discuss what you’ve read during the week and use it to reflect on your own experiences through therapeutic activities.
“We do collages, drawings, a lot of art and craft activities, painting, clay and a sand tray,” Alana said.
“There’s lots of connecting in with the breath, connecting in with your body and sensations, things around mindfulness, love and compassion.
“We also connect with nature, as nature’s really regulating and can help us get to a ventral vagal state, which is where we want to be able to bounce back to where we can connect, play, learn and grow.”
While Healing Hands Help Hearts predominately offers services to children and families through play-based therapy, she said she was excited to expand and offer her services to all members of the community to help people connect and heal their inner selves through the therapeutic book club. For more information on the services Alana offers at Healing Hands Help Hearts, you can head to her website healinghandshelphearts.com.au, or you can contact Alana at alana@healinghandshelphearts.com.au or 0477 373 458.

Berry Blast Smoothie
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
1 ripe banana
½ cup Greek yogurt (vanilla or plain)
½ cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)
1 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
½ tsp vanilla extract
Ice cubes (optional)
METHOD:
Wash the berries thoroughly and remove any stems.
Peel the banana and break it into smaller pieces.
In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, honey, and vanilla extract.
If desired, add a few ice cubes to make the smoothie colder and thicker.
Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If the consistency is too thick, you can add more almond milk to reach your desired thickness.
Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if needed.
Once the smoothie is blended to your liking, pour it into glasses and serve immediately.

3. SISTER VIV BY GRANTLEE KIEZA, RRP $35.99
Vivian Bullwinkle was a truly inspiring woman. At the age of 23 she was the sole survivor of a massacre that killed 21 of her fellow nurses. When the war ended, Vivian returned home a hero, but her feats didn’t end there. She became an advocate for all nurses raising education standards and making sure the profession was given the respect and admiration it deserved. Vivian is the only woman to have a statue at the War Memorial in Canberra and was bestowed many accolades in her lifetime, but her motivation was to always live her life in honour of those nurses who didn’t return.
4. YOU ARE HERE BY DAVID NICHOLLS, RRR $32.99, HACHETTE
Marnie is stuck in a rut and Michael is in need of a quiet holiday to process what’s just happened in his life, but when a persistent mutual friend and some very English weather conspire to bring them together, they suddenly find themselves alone on an epic coast-to-coast walk. The writing is witty and at times laugh out loud funny and you’ll warm to the two main characters and find yourself rushing through the book to see what happens, but then not wanting it to end. Maybe you do have to get lost to find yourself.
5. MOTHERING HEIGHTS BY RACHAEL MOGAN MCINTOSH, RRP $34.99, AFFIRM PRESS
I think the cover of Rachael’s book perfectly portrays what you’ll find inside. A warts and all memoir of the highs and lows of early parenthood, the laughter, the pain and the cringeworthy moments we all suffer at the hands of our children. Rachael has a warmth and empathy to her writing that reminds all of us don’t take yourself too seriously, you’re doing a great job and always try and find the humour in everything.

Career, connections and more
WE CAN SUPPORT YOU TO REACH YOUR POTENTIAL
Sarah Hay, a Clinical Tutor in Medical Imaging Technology, has dedicated six years to her role at GV Health, cherishing every moment of her career.
Originally from New Zealand, Sarah’s move from Auckland to the Goulburn Valley was driven by her husband’s job and her passion for public healthcare and clinical education.
She chose GV Health for its supportive environment and opportunities for professional growth, finding satisfaction in the variety of patient cases and supportive colleagues.
“GV Health gave me the opportunity to return to public practise after having children in a supportive environment.
“There was opportunity to expand my knowledge and challenge myself on a daily basis,” she said.
Sarah said it is the work life balance promoted by her team and the encouragement for career progression from senior staff that makes her role at GV Health an enjoyable one.
“I have been given many opportunities to progress my skillset both clinically and educationally,” she said.
“I progressed in the Clinical Tutor role 4 years ago, and since then have been supported in opportunities to teach
and assess at RMIT in Melbourne, as well as form a strong relationship with St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne.”
She said the development of the Allied Health Education Team has been a fantastic professional support.
“They actively encourage career development opportunities from supervising and undertaking research opportunities to attendance and support from the University of Melbourne with student support and development, which is great,” she said.

Embracing fearless children
STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY: KELLY CARMODY
A WISE MAN RECENTLY TOLD ME THAT CHILDREN WHO EXHIBIT COURAGE, BRAVERY AND CONFIDENCE IN SITUATIONS THAT MIGHT TYPICALLY EVOKE HESITATION CAN MAKE GREAT LEADERS.
THE WORD HE USED was ‘fearless’, and I remember it as clearly as my memories of my seven-year-old son unafraid of a three metre rising swell on a high tide as if he were a professional surfer.
Grappled with anxiety many a time, I’ve found myself uttering cautious warnings, urging my son to reconsider his daring pursuits.
Scooting down steep hills, venturing out of eyesight, jumping off things that have broken bone written all over them — at times, it’s hard to watch.
Yet, reflecting on these moments and wise words, I realised that I needed to find a delicate balance between safeguarding my child and allowing him the freedom to explore and grow.
After talking to many other parents recently, I’ve also realised that this is an actual situation that I am not alone in.
So, if it’s natural to be gripped by anxiety when our children engage in activities that push the boundaries of safety, how do we navigate through these challenges?
If my son wants to be a professional surfer one day, I am all for him following his dreams, even if I silently watch on from the dunes filled with worry and grey hair.
But in the meantime, let’s tackle these parenting waves together and surf through the highs and lows. Here is some information that may help.
By finding a balance between safety and freedom, as parents, we all can raise fearless leaders in their own right.
OPEN COMMUNICATION
Foster open communication with your child. Encourage them to share their experiences and feelings and listen attentively without judgement.
SET CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Establish clear boundaries and rules for safety while allowing room for exploration and growth. Let your child know what is acceptable and what is not.
TEACH RISK ASSESSMENT
Teach your child how to assess risks and make informed decisions. Help them understand the consequences of their actions and how to mitigate potential dangers.
ENCOURAGE INDEPENDENCE
Encourage independence and self-reliance by gradually giving your child more freedom and responsibility as they demonstrate maturity and good judgement.
LEAD BY EXAMPLE
Be a positive role model by demonstrating courage, resilience and responsible risk-taking in your own life.
PROVIDE SUPERVISION
While encouraging independence, ensure that you provide appropriate supervision and support, especially in unfamiliar or potentially hazardous situations.
CELEBRATE ACHIEVEMENTS
Celebrate your child’s achievements and successes, no matter how small. Encourage them to take pride in their courage and accomplishments.

IT WAS AS LARGE as a house brick, equipped with an antenna of equal size, and didn’t have internet capabilities.
What am I talking about?
My first phone. I was 18 and the year was 1999 — so not that long ago.
Mobile phones sure have evolved significantly from the brick style that required a backpack to go anywhere — there was no way that was ever going to fit in my pocket.
However, what also has evolved is the age children are receiving their first phone and in today’s times that can often be at a much younger age.
Deciding when a child is ready for their first phone should not be solely determined by the number of candles on their birthday cake, but rather should be a personal decision that each parent carefully considers.
Is your child ready for their first phone?
STORY: KELLY CARMODY
It’s a momentous milestone in a child’s journey that marks their entry into the broader world towards increased independence and responsibility.
Yet, how can we be confident they are truly prepared, and as parents, what measures can we take to ensure their safety?
Currently making their way into Australia’s mobile phone market, Dumb Phones are being adopted by people looking to cut down their screen time.
This option could be perfect for your child’s first phone; who knows, it may be something you want to try for yourself.
Recent studies show that problematic phone use by people of all ages has increased significantly, so maybe heading back to simpler times, such as my ‘brick phone era,’ might not be that bad.
What can a Dumb Phone do you ask?
Well, it’s basically a simple mobile device that’s mainly used for voice calls and text messaging.
It doesn’t have all the fancy features of smartphones, like apps and internet access, and they’re known for being straightforward, with physical keypads and long battery life.
This might only be an option for some, but it’s worth considering. You may want all the internet capabilities to track
there whereabouts?
Whatever you decide while navigating through the ever-evolving landscape of technology, quite often beside tech-savy children here are some factors to consider.
Age and maturity: Consider your child’s age and maturity level. Are they responsible enough to handle the responsibilities of owning a phone?
Purpose: Define the purpose of the phone. Is it primarily for communication, emergencies, or entertainment? This will help determine the features and capabilities needed.
Budget: Decide on a budget for the phone and associated expenses such as data plans and apps. Consider whether a new or used device is suitable.
Parental controls: Look for phones with robust parental control features. This allows you to monitor and manage your child’s phone usage, restrict access to certain apps or websites, and set usage limits.
Durability: Choose a durable phone suitable for a child’s lifestyle. Look for solid build-quality models and consider investing in a protective case.
Educational opportunities: Consider how the phone can be used for educational purposes. Can apps or features support your child’s learning and development?
Safety and security: Prioritise safety and security features. Ensure the phone has built-in safeguards against cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and online predators.
Communication: Discuss rules and expectations for phone usage with your child. Establish guidelines for when and how the phone should be used, such as during homework or before bedtime.
Emergency preparedness: Teach your child how to use the phone in emergencies. Program essential contact numbers, including yours and other trusted adults.
Digital etiquette: Teach your child about responsible digital behaviour, including privacy, respect for others, and the consequences of sharing personal information online.

Estee Lauder Double Wear 24hr stay in place lip liner in chestnut: Perfect brown lip liner that goes with any combo. NYX butter gloss in praline: For my lips, but better as lip gloss. Cocoa butter Vaseline: For cracked lips.
Pocket mirror: A gift from my Dad and my good luck charm as I have misplaced it numerous times, but it always finds its way back to me.
