Rush to this Easter festival
A town-wide celebration of yesteryear, the event showcases local arts, skills and businesses, and promotes a rural way of life.
Being one of the most impressive main streets in rural Victoria, Rushworth has retained its original charm, which is why it is the ideal place to host a heritage festival.
It is expected this year’s Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival will host more than 75 market stalls on the main street’s historic median strip. The community is encouraged to take part in the event by making an Easter bonnet for the 10 am competition, to try and take out the ‘best in show’ in either the children or adult categories.
The Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival is for everyone, with four-legged family members included as well.
You can dress up your dog or just bring them along to show off their cuteness for the 11 am dog show.
At 1 pm the highlight of the day will be the annual street parade of vintage and historical vehicles that are steam, petrol, people or horse-powered. All through the day many of the parade participants will be available to demonstrate their heritage skills and the way life once was.
Everyone is invited to this free family fun day, which is well worth the drive to this historical gold and ironbark town.
The Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival runs from 8 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 8 in High St, Rushworth.
