1. AIESEC and it’s projects today - social impact

In Slovakia, we want young people to understand cultural differences in the world, communicate with others effectively, be proactive and self-aware. This project brings interns from all over the world to host lectures and interactive workshops in elementary and high schools around Slovakia. Curricula are adjusted for different age groups to make all kids between the ages of 6 and 18 develop themselves to be the youth we want to see. Project contributes to SDG 4 - Quality education. More information at educateslovakia.sk. As of now, we’re already working on the project for Jan-Feb 2018.

2. Q1 current state Key successes: • stable growth in Q1 - both in the total volume of exchanges realised, but also in finances is a sign that we’re on a good way after 2 years of dropping, • expansions starting - running first recruitments and promo campaigns was successful in 3 expansions (Žilina, Business Universities Bratislava and STU Bratislava), which means we already have active members, • MC1718 pipeline - fully selected in 2 rounds, which is the least in past 4 MC terms. Together 8 people selected from 13 applicants. Key challenges: • leadership crisis - after replacing 2 LCPs we’re good with the new ones, however the challenge now seems to be the activity of the members. We’re working together with the LCPs on improving this, • unclear value proposition - given the fact that the context of the organisation and external environment is changing, we’ll work together with the SG on clarifying the value proposition of AIESEC for Slovak society.

2. 2.Q1 Q1milestones milestones

Lead 2017 conference

We closed the story of 2016 EBs generation and kicked off the 2017! It was also a formal start of our partnership with Teach For Slovakia, which hosted workshops for our members and took part in a panel discussion.

As a result of our efforts since December we already have active members recruited in 3 expansions: University of Žilina, Business Universities Bratislava and Slovak University of Technology.

Educate Slovakia delivery

MC1718 selected!

Expansions x3!

Welcoming 120 EPs from 20+ countries in the beginning of the year was the biggest project we’ve ever delivered. Despite the usual smaller challenges, the project was successful.

From 14 applicants in 2 rounds we managed to select 8 awesome individuals to carry on our legacy in the upcoming term. 5 Slovaks, 2 Romanians, 1 Russian and 1 Brazilian will for sure bring some new spirit!

Spring recruitment turned out to be an exceptional challenge and even though we collected over 512 applications, we selected only 90 members. Now we need to make sure we learned and make the best of it.

Social insurance office check

Recruitment of members

In December 2016 we got announced that Social insurance office will check our contracts and insurance payments for the past 15 years. After a few meetings, we’re waiting for an “all-good” result of the check.

4. 3.Q2 Q2plan plan

+ Alumni help needed

Outgoing Global Volunteer

This summer we want to develop 1% of university students through exchange. There are several activities that should contribute to this goal: • sending members for exchange, which was done in the past but was on a decline lately, • showcasing strategy - throughout the past years we’ve sent hundreds of young people for exchange. Now we’re collecting stories to demonstrate the impact it has on an individual, • online marketing - improving our website and posting regular social media content should drive more traffic to our refreshed global Opportunities Portal.

Expansions

Continuous support of expansions and their inclusion in the network of AIESEC in Slovakia should result in sending a few “fresh” members for exchange, so that after we can reintegrate them, building a strong HR foundation from the very beginning.

MC 16-18 takeover

Even though we’re loving our term, our time is slowly coming to an end. However, we’re not finishing just yet - in the upcoming months we’ll do our best to leverage on the power of both teams to grow in our results during summer and then deliver our transition.

Partnerships

• MC sales - finishing sales for YouthSpeak Forum on April 27th will require extra efforts from the MC team. Also, in the end of our term we are actually planning to sign some extra contracts for the 1718 term to improve the starting position. • Strategic alliances - continuous efforts to formalise partnerships with ministries, municipalities or other institutions that can help us increase our impact.

needed

“I have contacts at some of the universities you want to work with.”

The list of universities can be found in the previous page - in case you know a teacher, dean or a PhD student - any help will be appreciated!

This summer we’d like to develop 1 % of u n i ve rs i t y s t u d e nt s through exchange. Showcasing is a major part of our promotion strategy and we’ll appreciate any content from you!

“I was on an internship and I want to share my story!”

“I know about a company you can approach as a partner.”

We are always looking for a companies interested in youth, whether we’re talking about Slovak people (AIESEC-ers) or internationals (internships). Any new partner will be a contribution!

Whatever it is, we’re curious to hear it. Improving cooperation with Alumni is something we would like to work on in this term and so if you have something, please, message us.

“I have other input / want to help / etc.”

“I want to receive the monthly MC newsletter.”

On a monthly basis we’re releasing internal newsletter for our network. If you want to receive the most important updates on what’s going on in the organisation, this is the link for you :)

In Jan-Feb 2017 we’ll have more than hundred foreigners coming to the country, teaching in schools. We don’t want to miss this opportunity to do PR and position AIESEC in Slovakia.

“I can help with media contacts.”
