As the end of the school year approaches the seniors prepare for senior activities and graduation.

“I am really excited to close this chapter in my life, but these past four years will always stay with me. I am scared to move onto college” -Sinead Quinn (12)

At this point in the school year, most seniors are full of anticipation for the day that they get to walk to the podium, receive their diplomas, and say goodbye to their high school days. Lucky for them, the week of graduation holds a number of activities to help the time fly by for the graduating senior class. “I have mixed emotions,” senior Sinead Quinn said. “I am really excited to close this chapter in my life, but these past four years will always stay with me. I am scared to move onto college.” The senior festivities kick off tomorrow when seniors are able to participate in an optional trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Those who attend will spend a full day at the theme park with their classmates at a discounted price. “Knowing that I get to go to Six Flags the last weekend of my senior year is truly amazing,” senior Laura Feinberg said. “It will be fun to spend time with all the seniors that go.” On Monday seniors received their yearbooks before the rest of the school. “[Getting the yearbook] made me more anxious,” Quinn said. “It is the final sign that the year is over. It always brings back memories, so in ten years from now I [will] look back at the yearbook and smile about all the great times.” On Tuesday the second Senior Breakfast of the year will be held. Seniors will eat a complimentary breakfast while they watch various performances put on by their fellow classmates. Additionally, seniors will receive their caps, gowns, and graduation tickets. On Wednesday the seniors will participate in the main senior trip. They will be treated to breakfast in the morning then head to the bay for a cruise on the Lord Hornblower yacht around the San Diego Harbor . “It is the last chance for us to all spend time together and I think that this is the best way to do it,” senior Giordan Ramos said. Seniors may choose to drive themselves but the others will have transportation provided to and from San Diego Harbor. Another sign that the school year is ending is the final dance of the school year, Prom. “Prom was really fun,” Quinn said. I had an amazing time with my friends. It is always fun to get dressed up too. The zoo was really pretty and I was not cold at all. Everything went well.” The final senior activity probably takes the longest to plan. The night of graduation, in an effort to promote clean partying and celebrating,

MC seniors are invited to attend Grad Nite. The theme is “Pieces 08: Treasure Beyond the Sun.” The gym will be transformed into a pirate themed room full of activities to keep people entertained throughout the night. The doors close at 10 p.m. on June 12 and students aren’t released from the gym until 5 a.m. the following morning. These activities give seniors a chance to spend a significant amount of time together before everyone goes their separate way after graduation.

SENIOR ACTIVITY SCHEDULE MONDAY: SENIOR CHECK OUT TAKES PLACES AFTER YOUR LAST CLASS ON MONDAY AND WILL START OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY. TUESDAY: SENIOR BREAKFAST STARTS AT 8 A.M. ON THE FIELD WEDNESDAY: HARBOR CRUISE LEAVES AT 9 A.M. AND BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED BEFOREHAND. THURSDAY: GRADUATION PRACTICE BEGINS AT 8:30 ON THE FIELD. GRADUATION BEGINS AT 5:45 P.M.
