SKATE PARKS

Our skateboard parks are open to all – skateboarders, roller skaters, scooters, and BMX riders. Be sure to drop in at the newly expanded Mach 1 Skate Park adjacent to the Energy Centre in Cold Lake at 7825-51 Street. From stairs and ramps to the bowl, there’s something for every skill level.

A second skate park is located behind the J.J. Parr Sports Centre on 4 Wing Cold Lake, and includes a pump track behind the half and quarter pipes. The outdoor rink is also open for those looking to roller skate or try out new tricks on a flat surface.

In Bonnyville, the skate park is set up adjacent to the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre at 4313-50 Ave.

BIG THINGS!

Take your picture at the huge Pyrogy in the Village of Glendon. The Pyrogy stands 25 feet tall, 12 feet wide, and weighs 6,000 pounds. Grab a bite at the food truck on the other side of the park and check out the zipline in the playground right behind the giant dumpling.

But don’t stop there — cross another one of the Alberta BIGS off your list by visiting the Bonnyville and District Museum where a giant carving of Angus Shaw keeps an eye on the artifacts of the Bonnyville area. See more about the museum on Page 60.
