Businessman, Lawyer, Photographer, Writer…

Businessman, Lawyer, Photographer, Writer – all words that have been used to describe Ian Wilson’s career over the past years that has taken him to various different corners of our globe. A father of three, Ian now lives full-time in the Pays d’Enhaut where, inspired by our Region, he concentrates on the more artistic of these pursuits.

Writing under his nom de plume of Dan Fox, Ian’s debut novel, Nine Lives, was recently published. A deep and emotional journey, Ian started to write this story in various different parts of the world which are reflected in the book such as Venice, Paris and London; but having holidayed in the Saanenland for many years, it was to here that Ian returned to complete this work and he decided to stay. This book will be available during December in the Cadonau shop in Gstaad in limited edition versions and all signed by Ian (see more details on danfox.ch). In addition, Ian has also recently launched his project of Fine Art Photographic Images under the name of view-finder.ch with a highly successful exhibition at the Gstaad Palace this past summer. His grandfather having been a photographer, Ian nearly originally followed this path many years ago as a teenager but chose instead to study law, a decision from which he has been trying to escape ever since! Ian says that he is particularly inspired by the light and the energy here and his stunning images include many scenes from our beautiful Region displayed in a different artistic fashion incorporating mood and emotion, much like his writing.
