The tutors were amazing, talented individuals who had their own take on the issues we tackled during the course, which was really inspiring. Oh and the facilities, in particular the workshops and library, are outstanding.” Soon after graduating with an MA Fine Art, Juan was invited to exhibit his work in his home city of Bogotá before taking a graphic design position at Spain’s Piensa Positivo. Today he continues to work as both as an artist and graphic designer, a highly stimulating dual career he credits Middlesex for helping him achieve. “Having an MA from Middlesex really helped set me apart from the competition. “It is one of the top performing schools in London in my field,” he said. “I also loved its location as it is so easy to get to the centre of London, which has so many opportunities for students.” The University’s countless opportunities for student involvement allowed Vincent to gain further experience as a leader; elected as the Student Union’s postgraduate and research officer for two consecutive years, he travelled the UK attending conferences and acting as a voice for the University. He also became involved with St John Ambulance while at Middlesex, which led to an opportunity working as a medical assistant at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics – a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. Honing his management skills allowed Vincent to develop the tenacity to quickly climb the ranks within his chosen profession. Now working as a deputy manager for a residential care home, Vincent attributes his speedy career progression to the leadership experience he gained while at Middlesex – and he can’t imagine himself doing anything else. “There are so many areas of nursing in which you can specialise; I think it’s one of the best professions you can go into,” he said. “You get to touch so many people’s lives – those you care for, but also their families and friends.”

Our course directory
Our course directory The following index lists all available postgraduate taught courses as of the time of printing. For the latest list of postgraduate courses, and information on how to apply, visit our website: www.mdx.ac.uk/pgapply Entry qualifications (UK/EU) The majority of our postgraduate courses require you to have a good quality undergraduate degree, usually a second class or above, in a relevant subject field. We also accept equivalent work-based experience and qualifications. However this is subject to change – the latest entry requirements can be found on our website www.mdx.ac.uk Some specific courses, including nursing and teaching, may also require additional qualifications including subject specific A-levels, and/or the requirement to successfully pass additional exams set by external bodies. Continuing Professional Development We offer a wide range of CPD courses. For a full list, please visit our website.

Start dates The majority of our courses start in October each year, but some can also be started in January. For a full list of courses that offer a January start, and to apply, visit: www.mdx.ac.uk/janstart Exit Awards The courses listed here are such that only the full qualification (MSc, MA, LLM etc) is listed. However, many of our courses can also be completed as PG Certificates (PGCert) and PG Diplomas (PGDip). PG Cert students will only study modules worth up to 60 credits. PG Dip students will study 120 credits, not to include a dissertation. For information on our Professional Doctorates and Work Based Learning courses, please visit our website: www.mdx.ac.uk/courses
