about us! Q
So WHO are Middlesex Students’ Union?
When you become a student at Middlesex University, you also become a member of Middlesex Students’ Union. We are independent from the university, and we’re also a non-profit organisation, meaning every penny we make goes right back into your student experience. We are led by students for students, and you’re the focus of everything we do!
Q
LED BY STUDENTS...?
Q
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR STUDENTS?
We are the voice of students on campus. We make sure your views are heard in university decisions, and we campaign with you on issues that you care about. We also provide events, opportunities and services to support you throughout your studies at Middlesex – whether you want to meet new people, become more employable, discover new interests or access advice!
At the head of MDXSU are four Student Officers – one President and three Vice Presidents – who all studied at Middlesex. They were voted into their positions in our spring elections, and now work full-time to represent students!
“Since being involved in the Students’ Union I can’t tell you
how many things I’ve learned and how much it has enriched my time here at Middlesex. The MDXSU residential trip opened my eyes to the opportunities for change within not just our own university, but on a national scale.”
- Becky Sykes BA Dance Performance
“I’ve really enjoyed being part of the Students’
Union - I have met so many amazing people and it has helped me build loads of skills for the future.”
- Andy Roy
BSc Adult Nursing and President of MDX Nursing Society

Liberation assemblies
Our Liberation Assemblies represent students who face oppression and discrimination, and are often underrepresented and disadvantaged during their time at University. We have four Liberation Assemblies at MDXSU, for women students, disabled students, black students (with African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage) and LGBT+ students. Our Liberation Assemblies meet regularly to catch up, plan campaigns and socialise. To join or lead a Liberation Assembly you must identify into that specific group, although all students are invited to join in with events, campaigns and socials.
“Joining the Disabled Students’ Assembly gave me opportunities to speak with the university - in particular to the Vice Chancellor - to make the university more accessible and the lives of disabled students easier. - Ronit Himatlal BA Business Management
