New Jersey Sharing Network Chairwoman of the Board of Advisors Meadowlands Chamber As Chair of the Meadowlands Chamber board, it is my privilege to welcome you to our 46th Annual Legacy Awards Reception as we recognize the importance of leadership and celebrate those who have contributed both to our community and to the Chamber. I’d like to personally congratulate today’s honorees, all of whom exemplify the MC‘s values of organizational excellence, membership success, economic development advocacy and community catalyst through a very diverse group of businesses. Please join me in acknowledging Jim Kirkos and the entire team at the Chamber for all of the great work that they do to advocate for business and to provide us all with an opportunity for networking and recognition at events like tonight’s Legacy Awards Reception. Thank you to the Legacy Awards Reception Committee, who worked for many months to execute a meaningful and engaging event for all of us tonight. Finally, thank you for being here. 2019 LEGACY AWARD RECIPIENT Cathy Choi President BULBRITE
Cathy Choi is President of BULBRITE, a leading manufacturer and supplier of energy-efficient lighting solutions. Founded over 45 years ago by her parents, BULBRITE is a family owned business renowned for its commitment to innovation, education and exceptional service. Choi oversees all aspects of the company’s operations including sales, marketing, operations, manufacturing and product development. Choi has expanded sales and services to a broader community and distributor base throughout North America. She has helped expand the breadth of the company’s product line, which includes innovative energy efficient light sources and other types of light bulbs and lighting fixtures. Recipient of the Residential Lighting 2010 Industry Leadership Award, Choi is an active leader in the lighting industry, serving as a former Chair of the American Lighting Association (ALA) Education Foundation Board. She is an ALA Certified Lighting Specialist and requires that her team receives ALA certifications to provide the highest level of industry expertise and customer service. A sought-after industry expert and leadership speaker, Choi was recognized as a Woman of Influence in 2013 by the NJ Commerce and Industry Association. Choi has put an intentional focus on the company’s culture, which has been featured in the New York Times Corner office. BULBRITE also won the NJ Family Business of the Year Award in 2015, NJ Corporate Culture Award in 2016 and Best and Brightest Companies to Work for Award in 2017. Choi has an MBA from New York University and a BA from Cornell University. Prior to joining BULBRITE, she was a Director of Finance and Operations for Independent Pictures, a division of New Line Cinema and an Auditor for Price Waterhouse. She is a member of Vistage, the world’s leading Chief Executive Officer organization, an Advisory Council Member for the Seton Hall Business School Leadership Development Program and a Board of Director for a privately held company in NJ. She is a newly elected member of the President’s Council for Cornell Women (PCCW) and also serves as a Board of Director for the Ridgewood Public Library Foundation. She lives in Ridgewood, NJ with her husband and two daughters.
2019 LEGACY AWARD RECIPIENT David T. Gockel, P.E., P.P., LEED AP President & CEO Langan
David T. Gockel is the President & CEO of Langan, a premier land development and environmental engineering firm headquartered in New Jersey with over 30 offices around the globe. The consulting firm provides a client-focused, integrated mix of geotechnical, environmental, and site/civil engineering services, as well as traffic, natural resource/permitting, 3D laser scanning/modeling, and landscape architecture services. Clientele include educational institutions, private developers, corporate clients, energy companies, healthcare facilities, and a variety of public agencies. Throughout his career at Langan, Mr. Gockel has served as project manager or principal-in-charge of numerous major projects within the Meadowlands region, assisting clients with their visions to redevelop the historic New Jersey landscape into what it is today. Key Langan projects in the Meadowlands include MetLife Stadium, American Dream Meadowlands, Goya Headquarters, various projects at Teterboro Airport, multiple data centers for Equinix in Secaucus and many others throughout the firm’s nearly 50 years in the region. Mr. Gockel is actively involved in industry organizations throughout New Jersey and has received awards and accolades for his commitment to the engineering profession. Mr. Gockel has received the Engineer of the Year Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) New Jersey Section, the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Commercial Real Estate Community, and the President’s Award from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), where he was named to the Board of Governors for NAIOP’s Research Foundation. Since Mr. Gockel assumed leadership in 2004, Langan quadrupled in size from 250 employees to more than 1,100 today. Long an East Coast consultant, he established the firm’s footprint in California where Langan now has offices in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Irvine, and Los Angeles. During and after the most recent economic recession, Mr. Gockel led Langan through a period of unprecedented expansion, directing the opening of offices in Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Phoenix, and Houston, among others. On the international front, he has supported Langan’s expansion into London, Latin America, and the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Gockel earned a Master of Science in civil engineering from University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He has served on the Board of Overseers for NJIT, and the Advisory Committee to the Dean at Stevens Institute of Technology. In 2017, Mr. Gockel was inducted into the U.C. Berkeley Civil and Environmental Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni.

Madeleine is the owner and CEO of LPS Industries — a laminator and converter of high performance barrier films, pouches and bags for the medical, food, pet, military, agri-chem and industrial markets. She joined LPS in 1988 after a thirteen year career on Wall Street. Madeleine was the Executive Vice President of Capital Markets for the Irving Trust Company NY, NY also serving as President of
She received her MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and her BS degree in finance from Georgetown University Madeleine was chosen as one of the “Best 50 Women in Business 2010” by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association. She was also recognized in June 2010 by the National Minority Business Council for her long term commitment to the organization’s goals of providing critical development and growth-oriented support to minority and women business owners. Madeleine was also chosen by Savvy Magazine as one of the top 20 corporate women in America and featured in Forbes Magazine’s “People to Watch” section. Madeleine is on the Board of Directors of the Flexible Packaging Association and is active in promoting women entrepreneurship studies at the university level. She was also previously on the Board of Directors at the University of Scranton.
2019 LEGACY AWARD RECIPIENT Gary Wilbur President R.S. Knapp Co., Inc.
Gary is the CEO of R.S. Knapp Co., Inc./NAPCO. In 1977, he received a BA in Accounting from Villanova University magna cum laude. Prior to joining NAPCO in 1990, Gary was a Partner in a Big 8 accounting firm. He has been a member of the Xerox Engineering Systems Dealer Advisory Board and the Hewlett Packard Wide Format Advisory Board. He is a past president of the FirePower Group, a national association of the largest engineering printing equipment dealers in the United States. He was president of the International Reprographics Association (IRgA) in 2010, and in 2013, he was recognized as a Bukofsky Award recipient, the highest award in the reprographic printing industry. He has led R.S. Knapp Co., Inc./NAPCO through a time when technological advances significantly affected what our customers wanted us to help them with. After 70 plus years of doing business in Lyndhurst, NJ, the Company continues to thrive. The Company has evolved from printing “blueprints�, to managing design and construction information for some of the largest construction projects in the NJ/NY metropolitan area. Today, R.S. Knapp Co., Inc./NAPCO is one of the largest document management solution providers to the AEC (architects, engineering, contractor) industry in the NJ/NY area.
