1⁄2 Star

1⁄2 Star

The Montega star has been designed to provide a bold, memorable mark to represent Montega University in all forms of communication. In order to maximize its visual presence the identifier requires a surrounding area clear of any other graphic elements or text. The exclusion zone is equal to half the width of the square logo. Always allow at least this amount of clear space around the identifier. It is important that this rule is observed and the exclusion zone is maintained at all times. The Montega star must never be presented or used smaller than ½ inch wide without text. The acceptable minimum clearance is to protect the identifier. The identifier will appear on many different applications and formats. This will help to give it clarity and presence. This is not a placement guide. It is a minimum only or use of the identifier with departmental names.

The Montega word mark is acceptable in black and Montega red. The secondary logos can be represent with or without the Montega star with the “MONTEGA UNIVERSITY” text only. Either secondary logo represented less than 1 inch wide is unacceptable. This is to prevent competing elements that might take away from the strong brand associated with these systems.

Montega UNIVERSITY

Software has made it very easy to alter graphics by applying filters and special effects, or simply by changing shapes and colors. Please resist this temptation. The impact of any logo depends on consistent use resulting in a large number of impressions over a long period of time. The best logos are not ‘read’ as words, but act as visual stimuli. Any changes to the shape and color of a logo reduces its impact and can, over time, defeat the entire purpose of a logo program. This page illustrates some of the more obvious ways a logo can be destroyed by incorrect use. Please avoid these and all other changes to all Montega University logos. Do not use the logotype against backgrounds which conflict with Montega logo colors. Always present good contrast and clear legibility. Never place Montega Rlogos on brightly colored, multicolored, textured, or photographic backgrounds that conflict with the logo.

The acceptable typefaces used by our university are Penumbra Half Serif, Century Gothic, Myriad Web Pro, and Times New Roman. Penumbra Half Serif is the primry typeface because it bridges the needs of editorial typography and public signage with a single design. Its compact forms and tall caps height uses space efficiently, and its half serifs and open shapes make it clearly legible under many circumstances. It is the preferred University font for external print and Web communications and may be used in any marketing materials and documents, in conjunction with other fonts. The sans-serif typefaces (Century Gothic, Myriad Web Pro) should always be used for body copy, but can also be used in headlines, subheads, pull-quotes, captions, and call-outs. The serif typefaces (Penumbra Half Serif and Times New Roman) should be used for headlines, subheads, pull-quotes, captions, and callouts. Avoid using serif type for large areas of body copy.

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better. We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up. There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you. Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

street signage

This sign type will be used to identify all streets which travel into or through the University campus. By replacing existing street identification signs adjacent to and within the University, these signs will not only identify street names but also delineate the boundary of the University at all vehicular intersections. Each post will accommodate two (2) double-sided signs positioned perpendicular each other. All street signs are to be identical in size and mounted at a consistent height. These signs are to replace the existing street signs installed by the City at those locations which are adjacent to a located within the University. The sign is to be positioned so that the messages are located parallel to the streets which they identify. Since these signs will be replacing existing city signs, approval from the city of San Jose will be necessary prior to posting up.
