...where Tommy Armour, Henry Cotton, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Tom Watson, Paul Lawrie and Padraig Harrington have carried away The Claret Jug. Scotland has been called the home of golf and Carnoustie is a place renowned across the world for its fine and historic golf links, where the first recorded playing of the game dates back to the 16th Century. As a coastal town Carnoustie offers the freshest seafood and a variety of first class Restaurants – all on your doorstep. With its white beaches and rugged coastline, Carnoustie is a place where you can truly relax. Whilst its name is synonymous with golf, the rich beauty of the area ensures there is enough to attract those with other interests such as shooting, fishing, walking, cycling and sailing.

A brand new pro-centre is currently (2011) under construction behind the Starter’s Box.

This will be your view.

Remember Jean Van de Velde in the 1999 Open, when a double bogie would have secured The Claret Jug? Remember, his disasterous visit to the Barry Burn when the resultant triple bogie led to the play off against Justin Leonard and Paul Lawrie? And who can forget Padraig Harrington in 2007, when both his drive and his third shot were swallowed by the treacherous burn, forcing an exciting playoff against Sergio Garcia? With your outright ownership, you gain • Membership of the prestigious world wide Registry Collection. • Membership of the adjacent ‘Club Carnoustie’ Leisure Centre, with Fitness Suite, Swimming Pool and Spa, together with discounts on food and beverages at The Carnoustie Golf and Spa Hotel. The Apartments are in the heart of Carnoustie Country which is made up of 30 courses all within 40 minutes drive (see www.carnoustiecountry.com). As well as Carnoustie’s Championship Course you’ll be made most welcome at the adjacent Burnside and Barry Buddon Courses. Or you can nip down the road to the great courses at Panmuir or Monifieth, five and ten minutes away, respectively, by car. Another ten minutes will see you in Dundee at the very enjoyable Camperfdown and Downfield golf courses. Only thirty minutes from Dundee and you will be in St Andrews and Fife where you have the choice of The Old Course, The Jubilee, the New Course, or the recently completed Castle Course or a bit further to The Dukes, Torrance; The Kitticks; Kingsbarns or Balcomie Links. Then there is Muirfield, Archersfield and the Gullane Courses down the coast below Edinburgh. Further away to the north east, but all within driveable distance, are Royal Aberdeen, Murcar, and Cruden Bay, with Nairn West, Nairn Dumbar, Castle Stuart and Dornoch, perhaps requiring a nights stop-over. Or, going west and south west, there is Gleneagles, Rosemount, Loch Lomond, Troon and Turnberry. Along the way there are many other ‘gems of courses’, too numerous to mention.
