The earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean affected at least 1.5 million children, many of whom lost their parents and became "tsunami orphans," according to a UNICEF assessment. As for the specific number of orphans, no one can be accurate statistics.

Problems of Orphans The survey shows that in the face of society, 57.2 percent of children will pass through friends and welfare. In addition to these channels, it is difficult for them to get other employment information. And because of their relative isolation and lack of experience with society, orphans often cannot find a job or cannot keep it . The report also noted that 90.9 percent of the orphans wanted more access to help.

The care that former sos paryicipnts have received carries into the next generation: 90% give good care to their own children, breaking the cycle of speration.

60% of former SOS participants have received education and skills ,are succeeding in the job market and earn a decent job.

90% of former SOS participants generally have adequate accommodation ,food security and health-covering their basic needs.

80% former SOS participants normally are able to take care of themselves for the rest of their lives and have a good ability to live independently.

The original site was chosen next to the school and community library, but lacked the attraction and could not serve as a bridge for SOS children's village to integrate into the society.

The introduction of urban garden on the ground floor of the site, combined with some targeted shops and SOS children's village service center, has obvious directionality, attracting social children from surrounding schools and libraries to communicate and play with children from SOS children's village.

Plan

Introduce the transition space. The platform is used to distinguish the living space of the urban garden on the ground floor and the SOS children's village on the upper floor. Meanwhile, the SOS children's village public service center, streets and amusement facilities are set up on this floor to attract people vertically upward and increase openness.

Toilet Bedroom

Feeding room

Place all family units in vertical order to locate the youth apartment and the traffic core. At the same time, in order to prevent social children and SOS children from losing communication completely on the upper level, special activity Spaces are arranged on each floor to attract children to promote communication.

When setting up a single family unit, place the Sos mother's living space into the center for the convenience of taking care of all the children in the family unit. The children's living space is organized according to age for safety

Poyang lake migratory bird observation center

Academic:Architecture Design Time:08/2019——10/2019 Location:Nanji,China Poyang lake, the largest freshwater lake in China and the second largest in China, is located in the north of jiangxi province. It is a nature reserve to protect wildlife types. The site is located on the shore of a chen-qiu lake in NanJi, on the migratory band of winter birds. Due to the seasonal fluctuation of water level in the lake area, there are several environments of lakes, wetlands and grasslands during the year. Even the bird-watching resort is sheng'di to appreciate the rise and fall of the lake and the change of the environment.

Design Sketchs

In autumn , birds are observed from the "ribbons" of the building.

In the summer, part of the building is under water, and people climnb the roof to watch the birds.

Rebirth of garbage Industrial steel and fishing waste are recycled to create floating islands to relieve infrastructure pressure from rising sea levels

Academic:Urban Design Time:11/2019——09/2019 Location:Baoan,China Shenzhen's bao 'an district, located in the pearl river delta, has experienced rapid development in recent years, while the city has been plagued by rising sea levels and floods caused by severe and extreme weather. The rising sea level submerges the garbage collection points and seriously pollutes the environment. The project collects the steel garbage and fishery garbage generated by the traditional local industries, updates the abandoned old factories as the medium for the manufacturing of floating island components, and constructs a new urban garbage recycling system through the recycling of garbage.

Location Analysis

Site Condition The site is located in the airport area of baoan district, shenzhen, which has the huge potential to listed the focus of development after the shenzhen municipal government in the future. It is a large industrial area and export port of shenzhen, with relatively strong and intact industrial infrastructure system. The rapid development of industry, especially electronic products assembly and processing industry drives the exponential growth of economy, but also produces a lot of industrial waste... Industrial development brings more and more metal, plastic and other industrial waste, which is beyond the limit of urban waste treatment. Metal Garbage siege in inland city has become an urgent local problem.

Current Situation

Direction of Ocean Currents

On the other hand, crisis from the sea can not be ignored either. However, Geographical advantages come with risks, such as rising sea levels and severe flooding. Every flooding event will come together with huge amount of floating waste form the sea. Erosion of salty water causes damage to the normal operation of industrial equipment and recycle work of urban garbage on the land. This project is going to reconsidering how to improve the existing recycling system of metal waste on land, and combining it with the recycling system of floating garbage in the ocean after every flood disaster, thinking about how to make new recycling methods more responsive to the crisis of rising sea level.

HOW to SOLVE

Background

Industrial Area Waste disposal Under the greater bay area development plan, more of the ocean will be reclaimed to meet the needs of the growing population. But as time goes on, traditional oyster farming is threatened by pollution from Marine and industrial sources. The industry also produces a large amount of oyster shell and fishnet waste, which has not been taken seriously, leading to the death of some Marine fish. In the past

When typoon comes

Current

The number of refuse transfer station changes.

Change of garbage transportation routes.

So many empty factories in this area.

Our site is located in several industrial parks near the sea in songgang street. The garbage types in these industrial parks are mainly metal and plastic garbage, and they are suffering from and will suffer from the crisis caused by the rising sea level. Fishery waste is hazardous to the environment.
