THE PROJECT CONTRIBUTES NEW PUBLIC SPACES TO THE PRECINCT WITH THE ‘PADDOCK PARK’ TO THE WEST AND ‘THE LEDGE’ TO THE EAST.
THE FACADES REFERENCE THE COLOUR PALETTE OF THE 24 FIG TREES WHICH WERE RE-PLANTED WITHIN THE PRECINCT AND NEIGHBOURING PADDOCKS.
THE REFERENCE TO THE FIG TREES IS CONVEYED INTERNALLY THROUGH THE TIMBER WALL CLADDING AND THE CEILING THAT EVOKES THE SHADE AND FOLIAGE OF A CANOPY OVERHEARD.
A 2-STOREY COLONNADE PROVIDES AN ACTIVATED STREET FRONTAGE OF COMMERCIAL AND FUTURE RETAIL USES, WITH VERTICAL ELEMENTS CHANGING IN FREQUENCY TO REFLECT THE NATURE OF THE SPACES BEHIND.

THE DESIRE TO CREATE A STRONG CONNECTION AND DIALOGUE WITH THE PUBLIC DOMAIN HAS STRONGLY INFLUENCED HOW THE BUILDING MEETS THE GROUND.
