In 1995, we became Capital Region Housing. Today, we are Civida – the largest provider of social and near market homes in the Edmonton region. Civida owns and manages more than 480 near-market rental units. Our near market rent is set about 10-20 per cent below market rent for a similar sized unit in the area you’re looking to rent in.

“If you’re looking for a near market rental, you won’t be put on a wait list,” says Johanna Stauffer, Manager, Customer Relations & Options. “We treat near market rentals differently than community housing rentals.”

Near market housing is governed by the Residential Tenancies Act and its regulations and operating agree ments between Civida and grant providers. All applicants must meet eligibility requirements before being considered for a near market rental home with us.
