Her own father lost his hand in one of the wars. After several years in America making ends meet, Ola found a home at CCD, where she secured crucial scholarships with the help of CCD’s TRIO Student Support Services. Ola completed her Associate of Science Degree here at CCD and transferred to a 4-year university to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Engineering. Ola plans to learn the latest advancements in prosthetics and 3-D printing to help people like her father.

FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS We offer plenty of options to help offset, and in many cases, cover the cost of attending CCD. Grants: Federal and/or state student financial aid that doesn’t need to be paid back. Loans: These need to be paid back but can help to cover the cost of your education. Work-Study: This allows you to earn biweekly paychecks as a student employee, which helps cover living and educational expenses. Scholarships: We give out $1,000,000 annually in CCD-specific scholarships. Start your plan at CCD.edu/Financial-Aid.

LIVING THE DREAM Meet Saul Mejia, 27, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. While in high school, he was told a college education was out of the question. That is until he found his way to CCD and met with a member of our scholarship team. Together, they tackled the enrollment and scholarship process. He is now in his final semester at CCD and plans to transfer to a four-year university.
