The 136th Civil Engineer Squadron receives the Col William Deneke Award for Outstanding Civil Engineer Squadron September 17, 2022, at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. The 136th CES accomplishments included deployments, on-base maintenance and construction, base safety, and cutting energy costs as well as the unit’s ability to remain focused and dedicated to its work. The Deneke Award winner, chosen annually from nearly 100 civil engineer units throughout the 54 states and territories, is presented to the top Air National Guard civil engineer unit based upon installation and expeditionary engineering, emergency services, environmental leadership and community support. The 149th Fighter Wing is proud to have had a legacy as long as the

United States Air Force itself, 75 years strong! Recently the wing had the pleasure of having a heritage flight that paired a P-51 Mustang with our F16 heritage jet. 149th FW Gunfighters flew the fighter variant of the mustang from 1947-1956. Two legendary aircraft flying over the San Antonio skies, what a beautiful sight!
