Guenay Ulutuncok, bor n 1954 in Istanbul. Ear ned a degree in architecture in Cologne (1981) and has wor ked ever since as a freelance photojournalist. Co-founded photogr aphy agency “laif Photos & Repor tagen” in Cologne in late 1981. His wor k focuses on repor ting on political and social conflicts, cultural and ethnic diver sity, nature conser vation and biodiver sity for various magazines. 1988/1989: Jour nalism gr ant from the “Heinz Kühn Foundation” for Namibia and Angola. 1989/1991: Two-year sojourn in southern Africa, with shor t interr uptions.
