The National Safety Show 2017 is the place to be seen In late June, New Zealand’s leading industry trade show for workplace Health & Safety, The National Safety Show, returns to Auckland and already it’s well on its way to being a sell-out event.
T
he organisers are excited about this year’s show and in particular, the increased range of suppliers confirmed to exhibit. “Workplace safety is constantly on the minds of all good businesses these days,” says Tony Waite, Events Director of The National Safety Show, “and all are looking for ways to protect their workers, their reputation, and their business. No other event can deliver such a range of new products, technology, and innovative solutions all under one roof,” says Waite. Following it’s successful co-location with buildnz | designex in 2015 the bi-ennial event returns this June to the ASB Showgrounds where a combined 250+ exhibitors will be on display across 4 halls and an impressive 12,000m2 footprint. The prior show’s atten-

dance drew more than 6,000 trade attendees and early registration numbers are already showing growth potential – with engineering, food and packaging manufacturing professionals adding to the visitor mix – many of whom attend other successful XPO industry events. Iindustry professionals from around the nation are expected to visit across the full three days of The National Safety Show, to attend a busy schedule of safety seminars, as well as discover the latest and greatest safety solutions on offer. Honeywell is just one of the many exhibitors at The National Safety Show, and the company’s Marketing Manager, Mahmoud Barakat says the team is excited about being a part of the event again after a successful show in 2015. “We’ll be showcasing a num-

This is from a line of high-quality headgear that protects users from hazardous noise while keeping them connected to what matters. Wirelessly connected the Sync® Wireless Earmuff allows you to
answer calls or stream information from your mobile phone when working in a noisy environment”. Another exhibitor joining The National Safety Show for the first time is Supply Force International (SFI). Shane Rau, SFI Business Development Manager says “SFI are looking forward to joining the premier event where safety innovations and initiative meet the marketplace” and says “the show is the ideal platform to showcase our new Echo Barrier fencing product. The Echo Barrier H-Series is the most effective temporary noise control solution on the global market. Our range of temporary acoustic barriers and noise reduction solutions helps protect local communities and employees from the harmful effects of excessive noise through Patented, world-leading acoustic technology
and best-in-class materials.” says Rau. The National Safety Show is not only a free trade exhibition but also includes a comprehensive seminar and workshop series running across all three days of the event. An impressive line up of industry experts has been confirmed presenting on the latest topics that are impacting businesses of today. Such topics include: • Understanding frequent Health & Safety compliance issues for small to medium businesses. • Managing mental health in your organisation. • What does the new Health & Safety at Work Act mean for your business? • Using Software and Mobile Technology to manage and improve Health & Safety Environment & Quality. A full schedule of seminars and speakers can be viewed at www. safetyshow.co.nz to assist in the planning of your visit. In addition, a special feature added to this year’s event is through a partnership with Mens Health Month. It might sound surprising, however encouraging regular health checks remain important for the core health and safety of your employees. Held this June, Men’s Health Month is a great time to have a think about our health and how important it is, to start talking about it with our mates, families, and doctors, and to do

something for ourselves to be just a little bit healthier. The Men’s Health Month team will be onsite ready to answer all your questions as well as providing ideas to get your workplace involved too. A special celebrity speaker will also be in attendance as sports Journalist and media personality Phil Gifford will be presenting a keynote session celebrating the launch of his new book ‘Looking After Your Nuts & Bolts: Kiwi Men’s Health Guide’. You can be guaranteed that this will be a highly entertaining and informaWirelessly connected the new Sync® Wireless Earmuff allows you to answer calls or stream information from your mobile phone when working in a noisy environment”.
tive session so be sure to arrive early to secure your space as this session is predicted to be full to capacity. For those suppliers wanting to exhibit at The National Safety Show, the event provides fantastic business growth opportunities and a unique environment to meet powerful decision makers and buyers. The event organisers are quick to point out they have audited data evidencing attending visitor attendance and an impressive $530,000,000 in buying power – providing a formidable face-toface sales and marketing platform for industry suppliers across the 3-day event. Waite explains, “The National Safety Show is targeted to deliver a high quality audience – people who know that their business is dependent on the best safety products and technology available and have come with the specific goal of finding new suppliers and keeping up to date with the industry. With over 77% of visitors stating they hold direct authority or influence buying decisions and nearly 80% seeing something at the exhibition they were likely to purchase, suppliers can rest assured that The National Safety Show will deliver a positive ROI. “This is a trade-only event and is a must-attend on the calendar of everyone serious about their business. “It’s also the only place in New Zealand where those in the industry can see the very latest technology and developments over just a few days. There’s a
strong social and fun element too, where visitors and exhibitors make excellent industry contacts and network with their peers at the on-site cafés. Suppliers from all over the country and the world have already committed time and expert people to ensure that those working in safety in New Zealand have access to the tools, equipment, and services that will keep New Zealand’s industries and its employees physically, mentally and economically safe. If you want to be in front of thousands of professionals with safety problems needing solutions, then you need to be at The National Safety Show. With a comprehensive programme of free to attend professional development seminars, special features, networking opportunities, show-only specials, and the opportunity to win a huge array of prizes (including a brand new Ford) - this is the one event the industry won’t want to miss.
The National Safety Show is a trade-only event running 25-27 June 2017 at the ASB Showgrounds Auckland and is free to attend for those that register online at www.buildnz.com For exhibiting enquiries please, contact Exhibition Manager, Deb Haimes on (09) 976 8367, 021 487 552 or deb@xpo.co.nz www.isn.co.nz

ASSURED PROTECTION

YOU CAN RELY ON TODAY AND TOMORROW
When choosing cut-resistant gloves in Europe or the United States there are new test methods, new ways of classifying the results and the addition of letters and numbers to assist the user to make a more informed choice. We at ATG® welcome the progression of these two major standards in the spirit of assisting our industry to establish a more global and holistic approach. Many are asking why these standards needed to be changed?
MaxiCut® Ultra™ 44-3745
The answer to that question is quite simple. Whilst the technologies used to make cut resistant gloves evolved the standards used to evaluate and determine the level of protection did not until now. The new standards are aimed at closing the gap and helping customers better choose gloves to match their needs. When developing gloves we at ATG® have always tested to the highest level and beyond to ensure our customers are well protected whilst delivering value for money. This ethos has ensured that all our cut resistant gloves maintain the same cut resistance level (EN388:2003 vs. EN388:2016) whilst maintaining high levels of comfort. MaxiCut® Ultra™. Delivering Assured Protection you can rely on today and tomorrow.
