THE STORY OF THE BOWERBIRD Christmas is a time to let your spirit soar, something the world needs this year more than ever. That’s why we’ve invited the native Australian bowerbird to be the symbol of Christmas at David Jones, one you’ll see popping up instore, online and in these pages. Not just representing hope and freedom, the bowerbird is also known for collecting bright and colourful objects to decorate its nest, reminiscent of the love and care we put into making our homes beautiful at this time of year. With Christmas comes feasting and family, decorations on the tree and gifts underneath it – and this festive season, if you’re lucky, you might find a bowerbird making a home among its branches, too.
DAVID JONES AND ALNF David Jones is a proud community partner of the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF), an Australia-wide charity that empowers local educators and community members to transform literacy and education outcomes. Now in its fifth year of partnership with ALNF, David Jones has raised more than $450,000 for ALNF’s literacy programs.
