“The elegant feel of a sleek, low bun suits just about everyone and it’s such a good hot-weather option,” says Sarah. Start by smoothing the texture of your hair by running a straightening iron down the lengths (don’t forget to apply heat protectant first!). Using a fine-tooth comb, brush hair back into a ponytail and tie off with a band. Twist the pony into a loose spiral, winding it around itself, then pin in place.

If your fail-safe party look always involves your eyes, you’ll love this soft and smudgy take on liner and lashes. “This look is fantastic on all women because it can be easily tweaked to suit all eye shapes,” says Sarah. First, line lids with a soft pencil in a colour of your choosing (brown looks good on all skin tones), then add mascara and lashes. “A ﬂuttery lash gives a natural, pretty look whereas heavier lashes add drama.”

t was exactly 10 years ago that Bob Geldof spoke at a Priceline conference, reﬂecting on his more than two decades of impressive charity work and challenging everyone involved with the business to give back to their store communities in their own unique way. Around the same time, Priceline conducted Australia’s Biggest Health Check, a pioneering survey that saw 25,000 Australian women share their health concerns. It was these health concerns that helped inspire the formation of the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation, with the aim of supporting women and their families. The foundation’s ongoing commitment is to raise money for a number of vital charities (namely

Dementia Australia, Look Good Feel Better, Raise and PANDA). Since its inception, the foundation has raised more than $6 million for its nominated charities. Although the amount is impressive, the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation’s contribution is about more than just money. The foundation also helps to change lives for the better. According to Ita Buttrose, a dedicated patron of the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation, the foundation is unique in its ability to uplift women in need and their families. “It is aligned to a range of causes to which all women can relate in some way and this enables us to touch the lives of people from all walks of life,” she says. This November and December, Priceline will ramp up its support of the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation through a dedicated fundraising

campaign. The timing couldn’t be more perfect – Priceline knows how a little something can mean a lot to Australian women and their families, especially over the Christmas period. Read up on how you can get involved in the box to the right.

Dementia Australia represents the 459,000 Australians living with dementia and the almost 1.6 million Australians who look after them. It manages a range of national programs and services that provide information, support, counselling, training and education for people with dementia and their families and carers, as well as professionals working in the ﬁeld. The organisation also contributes to national policy and advocacy around dementia.

Raise is a mentoring movement that empowers young people to become resilient, capable and connected. Its programs oﬀer support and guidance to vulnerable young Australians who are facing

profound challenges such as mental health issues, teen pregnancy/ young parent families and diﬃcult home environments. Raise aims to make a diﬀerence in young people’s lives and create thriving communities across Australia.

Look Good Feel Better is a free community program that’s dedicated to helping Australians living with cancer cope with the side effects of treatment. By addressing hair loss and skin changes through the use of skincare, make-up, hats, turbans and wigs, the organisation helps to restore patients’ appearance, confidence and self-image. In Australia, more than 150,000 people have participated in the program, which now offers approximately 1000 workshops nationwide each year.

“The festive season is all about letting go and enjoying yourself guilt-free, but it’s worth keeping a check on your alcohol intake – particularly if you’re stressed or fatigued,” says Preeya. “Alcohol can make anxiety worse and it can also impact sleep quality.” Swap alcoholic drinks for filtered or sparkling water and make things easy by always keeping a water bottle with you. If you’re bored by plain water, get creative with fruits or citrus. For a Christmasinspired flavour profile, try orange peel and a cinnamon stick.

“Stay active – any physical activity is great for your body and brain,” says Preeya. “Exercise is wonderful for managing stress and anxiety, and working out in sunlight can help to improve sleep quality.” Preeya suggests trying to incorporate some movement into your everyday routine, such as playing with the kids in the backyard.

Being mindful of what you eat can help you tell the diﬀerence between eating for hunger and out of habit. “Savour everything you eat, whether it be a healthy salad or a treat – don’t ever feel guilty about food,” Melissa says. “By enjoying every mouthful you’ll be better able to listen to when you’re full.”
