Sudan:

Sudan is a developing country governed by customs and traditions. Sexual and reproductive health is a topic not allowed to be discussed yet, there are many sexual and reproductive health issues such as FGM, Gender Based Violence, Child marriage and so many more found in Sudan. Also since Sudan is bordered by seven countries with easy access, it makes the country population vulnerable to infections and outbreaks of dierent lengths. Recently, the Sudanese society started to break the taboos and talk about sexual and reproductive health issues.

There’s tremendous work that has been done regarding FGM, Breast Cancer, Maternal health and AIDS In the last few years and we aim to widen our target groups for the upcoming years.

Who Are We? (About MedSIN-Sudan): It is the oďŹƒcial body that gathers the Sudanese medical students, organizes their activities and represents them nationally and internationally with all the relative authorities and other organizations. MedSIN-Sudan is recognized as NMO for Sudanese medical students, in IFMSA, and it is registered as an NGO in HAC. MedSIN-Sudan is a group of motivated medical students active in curriculum issues, community projects, advocacy, lobbying, policy making, publication, international exchange, campaigns, and conferences. Through this, they educate themselves and others about global health issues. MedSIN-Sudan students are the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, a new generation of doctors who are informed and equipped with the skills to work in the ever-changing world.

Over the past years, MedSIN-Sudan has had many successful programs and achievements on both a national and international level. In the March Meeting in Malta, our Anti-FGM project was awarded the best project of the term.

In January 2016, we had our first version

of SCORA Talks, with the collaboration of WHO-Sudan.

Furthermore, our NMO is home to an international exchange program, namely Sudan Tropical Exchange Program (STEP).

Last year MedSIN-Sudan hosted the 2nd SCOPH Africa Summer School which is the biggest event in Africa for public health issues under the theme universal health coverage with 130 delegate from all over Africa where the

participants got the chance to meet new people and gain new skills and experience unforgettable moments.

Dear IFMSA SCORA International team and all SCORAngels out there,

With our utmost pleasure and excitement, we –SCORA Exchange Sudan OC- present to you our candidature for the exchange program for this year 2020.

Since MedSIN-Sudan was founded, SCORA Sudan has been achieving a lot of success despite the many obstacles faced.

We live in a society ruled by the traditions and customs where talking about sexual and reproductive health in such a community is a risk as it's considered a taboo. But throughout the last years we managed to change some concepts about sexual and reproductive health with our campaigns and the community based activities with our empowered members and now after the revolution and the change in the country it became easier to organize activities and reach our targeted community.

Due to the circumstances that occurred in the country the previous year we didn't host an exchange program, but this year it will be our third SCORA Exchange in Sudan.

In MedSIN-Sudan we have a lot of enthusiastic and thrilled members who are working to develop their skills and knowledge by all means available to them.

As mentioned before, our members organized numerous activities and two exchange programs all of which were great

capacity building opportunities for them to learn new stu in activity management and various skills.

Our Country is now in a stable political situation and safe for us to organize a memorable SCORA Exchange program and it will be a great opportunity for us to achieve new things as the members and the incomings will share their opinions and experiences together and to share the country situation in SRHR including the GBV, Maternal health, HIV/AIDS, Gender identity and so many.

By what I've mentioned above, we are ready and thrilled to host a memorable and fruitful SCORA Exchange program.

Dates: The exchange is expected to be held on Khartoum, from the period 23rd of August to 22nd of September after the August meeting.

Spots: 10 Spots available.

Proposed Accommodation and transportation: We will oer apartments with two bedrooms, a kitchen, hall, and a bathroom.

The bedrooms will contain 2 single beds with mattress, desk, lamp, chair and a closet.

The kitchen will contain all the kitchen tools and a gas stove and a fridge.

For the transportation we will provide the incomings with a bus to take them from the apartments to the hospital where the sessions and the clinical rounds will be conducted.

To get a VISA to Sudan contact the Sudanese embassy in

your country and we will send you an invitation letter to

make the process easier for you.

If you don't have a Sudanese embassy in your country

you can send your passport to the visa coordinator to

get the visa upon arrival.

-Citizens of the following 6 countries can visit Sudan without a visa:
