TOP MUSICIAN TO MENTOR IN FEAST Food & Music FEAST is not just about fun, faith and fellowship, as Bro Cyril Bas, servant leader of TawagAwit-St Mary’s reminds us, it is learning as well. ANNA DE GUZMAN, a top notch musician, performer and teacher, who has music degrees from the Philippines and New Zealand, accepted TawagAwit’s invitation to be the resource speaker in the music development part of this year’s FEAST on May 15, 2011 at the Social Hall of St Mary’s Northcote Parish. Anna obtained the following degrees: BMus Choral Conducting, UP College of Music and BMus Vocal Jazz Performance, New Zealand School of Music, Massey/Victoria Universities. She was a member of the world-renowned Philippine Madrigal Singers and served as Vocal Coach at the Ryan Cayabyab Music Studio in the Philippines for 12 years. Among her students was Emmy award winner Lea Salonga. She currently serves as Music Director of the North Shore New Life Church and Vocal Coach at the The Vocal Performance Studio in Auckland. The presentation from 2:00pm – 2:45pm is entitled, “Vocal Technique Workshop”. Anna is expected to spice up her presentation with practical tips and demonstrations.
