FR LARRY, BRO MEL IN GIGALIVE Fr Larry Rustia, Assistant Parish Priest of St Mary’s Northcote, and Bro Mel B Libre, Lead Servant of TawagAwit, will render vocal performances during GigAliveCelebrating Our Children, on November 27, 2011 in St Mary’s Northcote, Auckland. Fr Larry (photo at right), known for his well-prepared and thought-provoking homilies, is a gifted singer. His velvet voice brings joy to people attending masses where he is the celebrant. He has performedin a number of concerts in New Zealand including the sold-out Singing Priests concert in 2009 and with popular performer-composer Fr Chris Skinner. Bro Mel (photo at left), who founded TawagAwit, has released three albums in the Philippines and often sings original compositions during masses most recently in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Glen Eden and in Blessed John Paul II Mass Centre, Albany. He wrote anthems for the Philippine National Games, Palarong Pambansa, the Philippine National Red Cross and in New Zealand, for the Tahanang Pilipino Aotearoa Trust. He writes the weekly blog, Blotfree.
