It’s Never Too Late for Romance If you missed treating your most beloved to a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day, Katilingbang Bisaya sa New Zealand (KBNZ) is putting up a red carpet for lovers on March 2, 2013, 6pm at the Fickling Convention Centre, Three Kings, Auckland, New Zealand. LOVE IS IN THE AIR Post Valentine Dinner Show promises to be a memorable night for lovers. According to Tess Baclay (photo at right), chairperson of the event: “We’ve come out with a program that will fill the air with love – flowers, wine, food, music and dancing. It will definitely be a special evening for lovers and guests.” “We’ve invited a select number of singers to serenade us with some of the best love songs of all time. As we dine, we shall have talented saxophonist Evan Reid, who will play romantic music,” Tess said. KBNZ favorite DJ DXTR will once again delight the audience with dance music that will bring everyone to the dance floor complete with dazzling disco lights. Raiza Albinto, (photo at left) the event manager, has asked KBNZ youths to help in the event. She said, “It’s their way of saying thank you to their parents not only for caring for them, but for loving each other through the years. So expect the children to act as waiters, receptionists, usherettes and even as security.” “We therefore invite lovers to attend this special event. It’s never too late for romance,” chorused Tess and Raiza. Tickets at $30 each are selling fast, so don’t delay.
The Playlist of Evan Reid Evan Reid has been entertaining audiences with his saxophone. And if that wasn’t enough, he wouldn’t mind singing as well. When he was invited to perform in LOVE IS IN THE AIR Dinner Show, he told the organizers, “Yes! I would be delighted to entertain at your post Valentine dinner party.” During dinner, lovers and guests will therefore be treated to some of the most memorable love songs of all time. Tita Miriam in Love is in the Air One of the most admired couples among Filipinos in Auckland is Oscar and Miriam Batucan. The couple has raised children who are successful in their respective fields making them models among young parents struggling through the challenging multicultural environment. Oscar and Miriam have been involved in activities outside of their work and family in service of their fellowmen and the Lord. For 19 years they have led in the Feast of the Sto Nino de Cebu in Auckland which has become one of the biggest cultural events of the Filipino community. Because of their long and exceptional service to the Catholic Church, their families and Community, the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI awarded them the Benemerenti Award. Another aspect of their service to the Filipino community is the radio program, Pilipinas Mabuhay that has aired for 15 years over Planet FM and on-line in www.planetaudio.org.nz. The program gives updates on Philippine and local community news and events, reflections, music and inspirations. Listeners know them as Tito Oscar and Tita Miriam. LOVE IS IN THE AIR has invited Tita Miriam to read her favorite love poem during the event. She accepted the invitation, saying that she is most honored by the gesture. The organizers have asked her to either read an original love poem dedicated to Tito Oscar or one of her favorite poems. She has yet to make a choice.
